Welp I needed a pair of locomotives for my freelance slug set. While I'll figure the slug out later, I so want to custom paint a pair of RSD18's man those girls are gorgeous! THIS is why I keep coming back to Rapido. Btw being from and still living in Chicago, that EMD La Grange, IL SIgn makes me happy :D
I want to give a shout-out to those portable rerailers on the side of the walkways (white CP, yellow CN). A cool feature that I don’t think I’ve seen on other models.
Just a suggestion You guys should do icons of America steam aswell if you actually do i would suggest a frisco T54 4-8-2, a southern ms mikado (4501) and last a southern ks 2-8-0 630

You guys should sell the lights from the passenger cars separately from the passenger car so you can install it into your own cars. Edit: Do it for all scales you guys normally sell
A shame that the control panel's gauges aren't working, how can we know the scale speed without it? I don't model HO, American railroad or even normal gauge, but after each video I think that it would be nice to buy one of these. Unfortunately, I model European narrow gauge (On30), I cannot buy such beauties for my layout.
That's a very interesting point. How much is too expensive? We price our models high enough to cover the enormous development and production costs involved in super-detailed, museum-quality models. The only way to reduce the price is to reduce the detail or sell mostly direct (which we prefer not to do). We've tried lesser detail before and most of our customers were very upset. They wanted the detail. So we're keeping the detail, and that means higher priced models. There are many lower-priced alternatives out there for the budget-conscious modeller.
rapidotrains okay it’s not just you guys. Athearn is getting rediculous too. You guys do make great models but $279 through trainworld for a DCC sound sw1500 or whatever that little small switcher is you guys are making is insane. $200-$225 is when modelers we’re happy. There has been large discussions of modelers who are claiming models are getting too expensive and I agree. Make a quality product and charge a lower price will sell more units does it not?
Honestly we wish we could. Our models recently had their first price increase since 2012. We try to hold the line on pricing but these things cost us a lot. Prices are not arbitrarily set. They are based on our costs. Try your local hobby shop. You can often find older Rapido models - new in the box - in estate sales for a considerable discount.
