The actor guest starring on CBS's original "HAWAII FIVE-O" episode, "The King Kamehameha Blues" (CBS airdate: November 12, 1969) is actor Brandon DeWilde (1942-1972), best remembered from the movie, "SHANE" (1953) as the little boy, Brandon DeWilde had a total of 44 acting credits before his untimely death on July 6, 1972, in a Colorado road accident. DeWilde had some very impressive credits on TV as a guest star in NBC's "THRILLER" ("Pigeons From Hell" 7/6/61), "12 O' CLOCH HIGH" ("Here's To Courageous Cowards" 12/4/64), and "COMBAT!" ("A Sudden Terror" 3/29/66), among the 44 of his acting roles.
0:48 Prophetic speech, Jack…It took 50+ years, but sadly that world is now here. You are fortunate , Jack (Steve), you don't have to suffer as you have left our world and are in peace, the rest of us, are just trying to make from one day to the next.
Every single TV show from that era had their infamous "Hippie" episode. Hawaii Five-O, to Star Trek, to Gomer Pyle, to Lost In Space - doesn't matter which show one chooses. Someone should do a UA-cam 'highlights' video that shows a clip from each one.
Anyone realize that's the kid from The classic western Shane ? Brian DeWilde . Killed in a car crash probaly not long after this . He played John Wayne's son in a movie called In Harm's Way .
3:57 I like how McGarrett has to grab Danny to keep him from grabbing that guitar out of the hippie's hands and smashing it against the wall, Animal House/Belushi style.
That was our generation'S theme being anti establishment. ?...but then why did we kids like it so much then over 40 years ago and still do. All teenagers are always slightly goofy and anti establishment. ?. Relax! We made it out and much worse then these kids protrayed. It did not have McGarrett all shook up. We was us now .....so chill man. RIGHT ON!
Jim Johnson, the kids in this episode were anti-establishment assholes. What was there to like about them? The show did not portray them as such always. Even then, it's not important. It was two or three shows out of 284. It's fiction which did not cause anyone any harm.
Poor Brandon DeWilde, having to play this lousy, cliche’ rebellious hippy, in a dumb script that plays like an old Dragnet retread from the 60s......ugh!

Ol Dano was about to lose it with the Aloha Oink chant. Good thing Steve was there to intercept him. lol
this episode was filmed & aired in 1969
Classic at 1:29 addressing the girl: "And you're the... ah, never mind."
@MKIVWWI(open): LOL
😂🤣 I never saw the episode, but I would say maybe: "the charmer"? 😂🤣
LMAO, I thought the same exact thing. That was the money shot right there.
@ surely, the flautist.
The greatest cop show of all time!
And far more smart than the new version.
These silly kids in the beginning are at least mid 70s or older by now🤣
Thank you very much for uploading this video so that we can see it whenever we are confined to staying at home during this quarentine as much as possible.

Yes.
Brandon DeWilde
3 years later, in 1972.
Yes. He gave an excellent, ultimately moving, performance in IHW, good movie (1965).
@DannyM71 Yes, those were two more standout portrayals by BDW. Cheers.
And the film "In Harm's Way" was also filmed in Hawaii, before "Hawaii Five-0" had started.
You mess with Steve McGarrett, and things have a way of happening later.
1:29 xDDDDDDDDDD got to become a running gag in my everyday's speaking!
😂
dude and ol girl were partying hard before Steve McGarrett bust in the door 😂😂😂

At approximately 3:47 the college boy begins to sing and sing "Aloha onk".
