The second video we tore down the ball joints and I-joints. Showing the procedure of tear down and pressing everything apart. Finally we are going back together in this video. Appreciate the content bro just so happen to have a 6.0 myself so Some of this is like a cheat code definitely adds to diesel tech Ron’s Legacy
Most excellent tutorial. Thank you. Now, please protect your eyes.👀
Another great informative video content! Your UA-cam channel is a younger version of “DieselTechRon!”
You give great “how to” advice with your step by step detail. It’s great to have a lift for working your vehicle but it can also be done with floor jacks & Jack stands because you take the mystery out of the process!
Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing your next video!
I've watched countless videos of how to do this job an all your videos are best great information an you make it look so easy lol
Very good instructions. Rebuilding my front end now
Axel seals will go in with a Fram oil filter.
That's what I used. It worked great!
Great vid. Would be very helpful if you listed the parts you use in the description. Hell even put a link to your own Amazon store so if people buy them you get a piece of the $ action.
Great Video, I'm just finishing up replacing all front linkages and balljoints u-joints. Your videos made it much easier when I got stuck. Thanks.. Keep up the great work
so happy this video came across my feed. I'll be doing this rebuild this summer..and I just learned a couple new techniques. thanks brotha.
Awesome I just completed this yesterday sis I would’ve watched your (and other) videos. It was a straight forward job but I murdered my lower ball joints dust seals. Uppers are fine just the lower.
Great content.
Where did you get the silver dust seal Installation tool? Part# ?
Great video. Starting my front end rebuild this month.
Great video bro.
Just to let you know something. Your BJP1 C clamp has a flat spot in the center of it. Thats so you can mount it in a vise. It makes quick work of removing and installing the U joints.
Who ever invented that tool at Snap-On is a genious.
Great video! I feel like every time I've done ball joints it needed wheel bearings, and every time I go to do wheel bearings I find loose ball joints. Also, jealous of that Snap on Ball joint press. Didn't look like you needed three hands.
I have watched many ball joint videos prior to doing the ball joints on my 07 F250, but this is hands down the most informative! Wish I had that Snap On kit. My kit doesn’t have the correct cups drive out or install the ball joints. Can’t seem to find a kit that will work either for a reasonable price. Love that you can thread the cups on your Snap On press. Lot less of a headache.
@@brettmoen7240really what kit do you have
I'm starting my front axle teardown this weekend. Is there any specific grease I should use for reassembly? Thanks for all your assistance!
What was the part number for the tool you used at 9:23 to install the axle dust seal? I found the OTC tool for the vacuum hub seal but can’t find the other driver for the axle dust seal.
Great job my friend it will awesome if links all the tool you use 👍👍
When you install the knuckle around 13:30, is that a good time to swap camber bushings for adjustments?
Seriously informative video....love the channel
Good Stuff, Great Help, Good Tips 👍Thanks!
Another great video.Keep them going.
Great video.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice work and merry Christmas
Great vid keep up the work!!
Nice video! Thank you!
The vise can press the bearing caps in…no hammering.
Would you suggest putting adjustable caster/camber bushings in?
Great video! What state are you in?
Great video 👍👍👍
Could you have used your vise to press the caps onto the U-joint instead of using the hammer? Or will the clip be damaged or some other issue?
Good job
If you were to replace the wheel bearing hub, what brand would you use
Timkin is what Ford used and are the best .
Doesn't this pickup also have a vacuum line for the auto hubs?
What Ball Joint press are you using? Did you have to buy extra adapters for this press set or did all come as a complete set?
I’m having to do all this same stuff to my 6.0 super duty..what c clamp press are you using? And what are the adapters needed for the superdutys? I don’t want to waste money on a weak set. Thanks
Where did you get the Dana ball joints?
Where can I find the best prices on spicer and other OEM parts?
Does the upper ball joint get a snapring
No just the lower ball joint
if your serious about maintenance on your rig i would guess this front end work would cost a large amount and hopefully only once or twice during the lifespan of your truck i am hopeful that its only once if truck is maintained well just a guess
At the end can you add up how much everything was?
Any tips on how to keep that lower nut from spinning with the ball joint? I cannot get mine tight.
I have used a floor jack and lifted up on the knuckle in the past to get the taper snug enough to not spin while I tightened it. Also, an impact gun is helpful for that as he showed vs hand tightening.
@@scubasteve7946 I’ve been doing that very thing. Appreciate the reply.
Asking for a friend here. I’m trying to pull a 6.0 motor out but the torque converter nuts are rounded off. Any tips tricks? Could really use the help. Thanks.
Access the nuts from the front of the vehicle, assuming the entire front clip is off including all coolers etc.... On the drivers side just above oil pan in the rear cover of the engine there is a black grommet. Remove the grommet to gain access to the nuts. Then you will want to line up and heat the nut. Then grab a socket that won’t quite fit on it and hammer it on good. With a long extension break it free from the front. Watch my king ranch playlist where I dealt with this exact issue.
@@LeftLaneDiesels thank you so much finally got it out
When you said splined up when installing the axle can you explain what you meant on that
Splines of the axle shaft to front differential. You will feel the engagement, sometimes you have to lift the axle shaft up and rotate at the same time.
@@LeftLaneDiesels so you'd feel it lock in and spin when you put it back together
@@josephjarosek3825 correct then you drive the axle shaft and seal the rest of the way in as seen in the video.
@@LeftLaneDiesels got it thank you sir love the videos
Where can I get that dust seal installer at I can’t find one
Anything that can fit around the outer part that you can hit with a hammer will work. I’ve used axle sockets, metal tubing I have laying around etc.
Do you have a recommendation on a hub/bearing assembly kit?
F250 2006
BCA! Don’t use moog
@@LeftLaneDiesels Ok thx. My front end is being rebuilt right now. I figured to go ahead and do the hub and bearing assembly as well. I saw the Motocraft brand at the local parts house. Good lord $710 each😯😯😯
This would have been a perfect time to install the caster shims that came with that leveling kit?
@@johnnycortez46what do you mean
He installed one what was it the original
@@LeftLaneDieselsBCA?
All that work and you didn't put new hubs on ??
No reason too, wheel bearing were in good shape. At $400 each that’s a heavy investment to make replacing something that doesn’t need replaced.
Bro I see so many guys doing this dry and it literally hurts me
Bro please start wearing glasses whenever you use a hammer please.
And when using the wire brushes in your drill !!!
Either I need to marry your sister, or you need to marry mine! Need you in the family!
Great video
