It's not really a sixth sense or a "human" sense. They're reading your body language and tone. Animals have to be good at reading body language and tone, because for almost all of them, thats the only way they communicate.
Einin well I just did my research I just think to not get one at all I just don't think I can take care of a rabbit because I can't get two and I can't get one so it doesn't get sad
Amber Gaming Aw okay. Good job on making a mature decision, I know plenty of people who would just get one bunny and it's not fair. Rabbits are a lot of work
Prince Benjamin Mine sure is! He beat up my dog so much that I have to put the dog on a chair for the entire time the bunny's out. Which stinks because I bought the bunny for my five pound poodle as a companion. Started off good, now the bunny runs the house. Except for my parrots. He's scared of them and they're the aggressive ones. The bunny gets too close to their cage, here comes a lovebird flying down with an attitude. This is my first rabbit and I'm finding him fascinating. I wish he'd stop charging but other than that, he's a lovable scamp. :D
Debbie Hubbard Oh, wow, you got a very territorial bunny there! You have quite a few pets, I'm guessing you live in a house? I live in an apartment, so I can't have many pets :/
Yep. I live in a house. Couldn't have this menagerie if I didn't. I love them all though. I can't think of any that I'd want to give up without some agonizing over the decision. :D
Prince Benjamin Mine's a jerk too! Only to me it seems lol. She loves my 65lbs Aussie and her best friend is Terrorist the orange tabby. And his sister Chaos just loves to groom the rabbit XD
Actually, this is pretty helpful. My bunny was already aggressive because of it's past owners. So now he's 6-7 months old, and I am trying to make him feel safe and happy. Thanks for the instructions!
it's not all that hard. main things to look out for are their eyes and nose + stance. a relaxed rabbit will lie down into a comfortable position much like cats, or bunch up into a fur potatoe and rest/sleep. a stressed out rabbit is identifiable by wide open eyes, frantic nose movement and tense, stiff body stance. if they feel really comfortable and safe, they even flop over onto their sides and sleep like that

Great tips! My daughter recently rescued a domestic bunny from a public park, so we have been scrambling to learn lots, and quickly. This morning I tried the tip of poking my face into her cage, she hopped up and sniffed me and then allowed my hand to come in without lunging or growling this time. We will be taking her to the vet this afternoon, and saving money for a rabbit run area and spay / neuter.

I wish you guys had a video on how to handle blind rabbits, I know it's a little rare for someone to have a blind bunny but I do, I love him a lot. I got Harry when he could still see but his catarax ( don't know how to spell it) got worse and worse and now he is fully blinded. It's hard to handle him because he will get scared if he feels anything come near him, he's not aggressive at all or anything.

I also do the 'finger rubbing' technique from the previous comment, and that worked really well to associate a sound with touch so she could hear me coming to touch her. She also liked to smell people to identify them and definitely preferred some people's smell by association. And just like with blind people, don't move his things around too much, he could get aggressive if he doesn't feel safe in his home or can't find his way around it well. It's all about using their other senses to let them know they're safe.
I have a New Zealand baby rabbit and I really needed help with her she was soo jumpy. But ever since I watched this video it seems like she knows me and she isn’t less jumpy when I touch her anymore.Thank you❤️
I find these rabbit/bunny video's very useful... Because I found a rabbit that was wild but was surprisingly used to human interaction so my sister, her friend, and my mother decided to capture him.... he's snow white with black eyes but because we life in the dessert he would have been easy prey to predators in the area... that's why we caught him... we checked with the vet and looked around to see if he belonged to anyone and he didn't...so we decided to keep him and because I'm not used to owning my own rabbit I find these very useful... especially with a wild rabbit that you know almost next to nothing about... nor does he know anything about you... thank you for these useful how to videos...and I hope to see many more..
Hint no natural born wild rabbit is colored like that in the desert. He was a pet let loose at some point which is why he was "used" to human interactions.
Maovwar very dumb on the original owners part i got my current cat the same way luckily she was only 12 weeks old so it did not take long to reverse the damage. now i have a well behaved lap sitting, spider hunting black cat.
Someone I know bought a bunny and kept it in the gardenshed. They neglected it and only fed him 2 times a day and that's it. He survived for yéárs, but was kept in a small cage and didn't get toys or love. After all those years, they tried picking him up and he bit them. As soon as he got the sniffles, they put him down. Imagine what a life it could've had with caring owners.
I used to have a bunny and she had such a personality.. very temperamental, but never bite me or hurt me. She hated being picked up, but she would jump on me when I stroke her a bit. She would then never want to leave and used to fall asleep while being stroked on her head. Her head would become so flat and she would close her eyes all the way... so cute! Every morning I used to call her name and she would quickly hop towards her cage door waiting for me to open it. I would then put my hand in front of her and she would lie her head on it, with my second hand I would stroke her head until she closes her eyes :) That was our good morning thing.. I miss her a lot! My little Fluffminster
I remember taking care of a friends bunny and he actually bit me but when he did he looked at me and froze because i looked at him with a stern look saying "dont ever do that again!" Since then he never bit me again. Also fyi my first animal bite lol
Excellent points and truly they apply to all creatures including human beings. One has to remember that they are interacting with another living creature who has feelings, may not feel well, or just not in the mood to be bothered at the moment. Animals (including humans) 99.9% of the time will give indication of their mood and it is up to the pet owner to LEARN their INDIVIDUAL pet moods, personality and body language sometimes even vocals. Absolutely wonderful video!!!
I really liked this video. My little bunny comes to me for pets, but doesn't like it very much when I go to pick her up, so I don't -- unless it's really necessary. I've got lots of videos of my bunny on my channel. She's learning tricks, like coming when she's called. She's smart!
I let my Mini Rex come in and out of his cage on his own. I wait for him to come out rather than pick him up. Had him since he was six weeks old and he is very nice. Thank you for the videos.
This video saved my life! We recently got a second bun and she hated to be touched. I started to do the head patting and less than a week later I just finished letting her to sleep! Thank you!
Very useful video! We have four rabbits and one of them is very cautious when it comes to approaching him. The other three are so easy to deal with that we hadn't even thought of this. Really works with him! Thank you!
"Once the bunny is denuded, and you continue to see the aggressiveness" So frankly, you ruined the rabbits sex life, just for self curiosity? How happy I am to be a human
TheMintGamers rabbits breed really fast and it makes sense in an environement with high mortality rate to do so. But in captivity, the babies are less likely to die and it results in more rabbits than what we can handle to find homes for. That means hundreds of dead baby rabbits you could have prevented with neutering. Being neutered is not really a big deal since the rabbit will loose his interest for sex with the neutering. This applies to humans too, right now, you think your balls are important but if you loose them, your hormones will make you care about breeding a lot less.
PLEASE do a vlog about your and amy's rabbits! i reallllly want to see how all of their areas are set up so i can try to copy it. i also want to take a look at all of the different breeds you have. thanks!
I have a rabbit named Luna, she is aggressive and I show her in 4-H. That means I can't get her spayed. She's bitten me once before and she grunts and charges after me. I have to go to pick her up with a blanket and\or gloves. I try to work with her every day so she's nice to judge. Also, how do you introduce 1 female rabbit (not spayed) and another female rabbit(not spayed)? Because Luna will be living with our other female rabbit and 6 chickens. How do I introduce them? Please comment down below any suggestions!
My niece raised a huge lop eared that would immediately jump on your lap and push her head under your hand to be petted.. She was quite talented and supremely patient with animals. I was utterly undone by the behavior of her rabbit.
1:50 this is the key ... don't chase them - they're actually testing you to see if you will respect them if they feel the need to get out of there I believe if you chase them, even in a minor way, it still means a lot to a rabbit in a negative way the thoughts and emotions of rabbits are complex and you can only start learning about them with a rabbit's permission
FYI - This is a good demonstration why having the bunny cage on the floor, or at least having a ramp from the cage to the floor, is so helpful. That was you reduce the amount of fighting involved in getting them in and out of the cage. They will sometimes go in and out on their own. Feed them when playtime is over, making some noise, and you'll never have to fight to get them back in again.
I had a rabbit named Heidi once. I kind of adopted her from a classmate because they couldn't take care of her anymore. She was great the first month, very nice and approachable. But soon after, she started acting weird, exposing her neck and hyperventilating. I didn't know what was happening so we just gave her some space in her cage. We sometimes left the door open on her cage because she liked to stick her head out to look around, but one night she just suicide jumped out of the cage and died.
I'm so glad that I saw your videos... my bunny was super aggressive and hyper. but now the situation is great and here's right beside me and licking me in the face😊🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇
Thank You so much for your knowledgeable videos on how to care for Rabbits. I have watched them all and have learned so much. Thank You!! I have a friend who has a indoor rabbit. The rabbit will sometimes run around a person and then spray like a cat does to mark his territory. My Questions are: Is the rabbit marking his territory? Do both male and females do this? Is there some way to prevent it?
So what does it mean when I slowly put my hand next to his head, and he actually moves his head under my hand..? Does he want me to pet him? Sometimes he just keeps sitting with his head down when I pet him, not sure if he is scared or relaxed. I try to look at his breathing and stuff but I am not sure..
Way I got along with my shy, scared bunny: • Let her get along with the space • Talk to her, still not petting • Go wash your hands, rince it with soap very good (Preffered fruit scent soap), wash and dry very good • Slowly move your hand to the bunny, find out which spot they like most to be pettet (My bunny loves her cheeks being pet, she hates her ears being pet) • Pet her slowly and calmly • If your pet was outside (Mine was), bring her inside, again let her get along with the area. • Get her out of her box, slowly • Bring her some chew toys • Let her roam around the couch, or wherever you sit, she will eventually come on your lap or put her paws on your shoulder, or similar. -Hope this helped ♡
Great video. I learned something, and found validation for some of the things I have observed on my own. I am a new rabbit owner ( 8th month with Trixie Love) and things are going really well- especially after I stopped some of my own behavior (like picking up Trixie Love- who does not like that). I found your series of videos invaluable. Thank You.
youll have to earn their trust and it will really takes a lot of time. jsut don't touch them if they don't like it. first learn to respect their space after that youll notice your bunny will go circle around you and they wants to be pet by you. sorry for bad english. they will learn to love you soon just be patient
This video helped me a lot when I barely got my bunny! She was turning very agressive and I didn't know why, but this video helped me a lot and now 3 years latter, she's a snuggle bunny that loves getting massages on top of her head as long as she sees my hand like how that lady shows xD
I have 2 wonderful rabbits... I recently got one more and tried to introduced them... the female Nether-land Dwarf attacked the new male Nether-land Dwarf. He is only 7 weeks old. The female is 14 weeks old. The female has been spayed and is very friendly to humans, and her bonded male mini lop. What should I do to stop this aggression towards other rabbits?
My rabbit is soon 4 years old and I have had this bunny since she was born >.< She is the most aggressivest pet I ever have had >.< Thanks for the help! :)
maybe you need to slow down in her handling and give her more options to retreat. my bunnies have multiple cardboard boxes to go into. my female sometimes jumps at me when I intrude too much on her privacy but my male is absolutely calm, I can literally pick him up off the ground without him freaking out
ColorfulDragons yes. the funny thing is that even though the male is calmer, he is more difficult to put on his back for check-up purposes. on the other hand my female trusts me alot more with that and doesn't try to escape. It's cute how different their personalities can be
so I have an extremely aggressive rabbit that I actually bred myself and I'm afraid I gave her too much freedom so I was wondering what should I do to train her and what should I use to rain her and your opinion she barks and screams at me I'm just looking for anything to train her thank you
I have a different case, I have a rescue who needs advice. She has been surrendered at under a year old with them using cat gloves to get her out of the carrier! She was given away as her aggression was deemed to bad for their child. Now, former Fluffy, now Tabatha has been discovered very confident and aggressive. She has been desexed hoping that would work but minimal change happened. She goes out of her way to chase down and attack anyone but when it comes to rabbits acts like they arnt even there, like she doesn't know what they are. After thinking it may be dominance or territorial change of cage and other rabbits blankets were introduced, no change, I suggested using touching with paint brushes through the cage before petting but what else can we do?
i have 2 bonded bunnies (girls) and i just got my newest one spayed i waited a week to put them together again and the one that just got spayed become aggressive with my other one.... what do i do!
I’ve had my for about 7 months now and just this past month she’s been biting me more, I noticed today when I was picking up her poops (which she’s been having accidents outside her litter box) and she bit my bicep! She bit my sister on her thigh when they were playing on the floor! I’m guessing she needs to be spayed?
How do I get two rabbits to get along? My sister has a rabbit and I just got one myself and we want to put them together but the keep circling and jumping on top of each others heads??? I don't know if that's fighting, playing, or a little bit of both. If you can please respond quickly
my rabbit is a netherland dwarf aren't those types of rabbits naturally agressive its like a part of their personality or something can it be changed though
My rabbit was not at all aggressive. She was always asking for pets and was very clingy but suddenly she started biting me very aggressively whenever I or anyone comes close to her(without her food 😑). I don't know what happened which scared or angered her. It might be hormonal problems but I can't get her spayed or neutered because my parents will not allow it. I get sad because she always followed me everywhere and now she only comes to me for treats and food .😕
I'd really recommend convincing your parents to spay her. I was 12 when I got my rabbits, I'm 21 now and they both have cancer. One uterine and the other has cancer for a 2nd time. Unfortunately, I will be having them put down after 9 years. Unspayed female rabbits will almost certainly die of reproductive cancer over old age so please try convince them!
the second the door is open my rescue bunny growls and lunges. there is no chance to see about touching her head. during her hop around play time she might nudge you but she takes off before you can try to touch her. gotta get her fixed but that's so expensive, so we're gonna get her a better cage first
I know that this is super late but I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I am part of a 4-H group and I currently show chickens. I want to get into showing rabbits and I am pretty sure spaying/neutering would not be an option, would these techniques work on cage aggressive does/bucks?
Hey..I need your help... My rabbit has got a red blood spot at first on his forehead but after some days I noticed it was spreading ..n now....what should I do..?
My rabbit wont stop jumping on my bed! I need help when I'm trying to sleep he jumps up and I tell him no and tap him on the nose and put him back on the floor but he continues. Please help!
I would not suggest tapping the nose.. That never worked with any of my rabbits. What I did was make a sound that they hated whenever they did something bad. That works every time for me. If you still have trouble after a while, I would suggest making your bed higher up so he can't get up or putting your bunny to bed when you do. Perhaps he jumps on you because he gets hungry during the night? Just a thought. Hope this helps a bit.. :)
It's hard to explain over text... Hmm it's kinda like a fast, throat "ahh ahh" sound.. I would just try different things to see what your guy doesn't like. It shouldn't be loud, because you don't want to terrify him, just something he can associate with a "bad" action. And no problem! ( ˃᷄˶˶̫˶˂᷅ )
Hah! I deem this situation funny, because I would love for my bunny to hop up on the bed! Anyway... I am not aware of your set-up, but I simply corral mine for the night, or whenever he is unsupervised. :)
We got our bunny Khloe 4 months ago from a pet store. We didn't spay her but we tryed to tame her but when we go to pet her she leaves away and when she is in the cage and we want to put in her bowl pellets she comes and bite us like HELP!!!IS SPAYING A WAY TO MAKE MY BUNNY FRIENDLY?
to make it less aggressive...meet its needs and if it does not come around then it is not a breeder, it is a dinner. don't bite the hand that feeds you..lol
such a helpful series but i have to say it has made me uneasy about getting a rabbit. i didn't know they could get bladder sludge or die from raccoon worm i was looking forward to bring my rabbit with me outside into my garden.
I like how she's trying to teach how to deal with aggressive rabbits but all the rabbit wants is love

And just like with blind people, don't move his things around too much, he could get aggressive if he doesn't feel safe in his home or can't find his way around it well. It's all about using their other senses to let them know they're safe.
@@snowwhiteandthedread She is she is talking in the video so yah that's it not being mean 😐🙂

you seem to be so passionate, experienced, and knowledgable of rabbits..You are awesome
"She is not going to hurt you" Uhh then why my hands is in blood almost?
English
lelkid getrekt It's really a wonderful thing if you can use it properly.
Jackson Bollock you need help
"Then why are my hands bleeding"
Lets apply these intelligent technics to Mr. Suarez....
Hahahaha you made me spit my drink out
Excellent points and truly they apply to all creatures including human beings.
Thank you!
Aww such an adorable bunny! Great job on all your videos! :3
Thank you for this video (and all others)! In just a few sessions with our new rabbit using these techniques we are seeing a vast improvement already.
I loved when you explained the psychology behind ppl who pet the rabbit. IMO, rabbits are so smart and can pick up subtle cues like that.
Very useful video! We have four rabbits and one of them is very cautious when it comes to approaching him. The other three are so easy to deal with that we hadn't even thought of this. Really works with him! Thank you!
I recently adopted a rabbit who is extremely territorial and cage aggressive due to its past home and this is extremely helpful thank you :)
my rabbit's reaction when I tried this: 🖕🖕
Lol😂😂😂 That's my rabbit's reaction too.
Rabbits scared of a human hand? A human hand that cuts off his balls? :)
"Once the bunny is denuded, and you continue to see the aggressiveness"
So frankly, you ruined the rabbits sex life, just for self curiosity?
How happy I am to be a human
TheMintGamers
The problem with rabbit's sex life is that rabbits are nymphomaniacs.
mik1984 guys, rabbits only mate when they are going to have babies, lol thats be really weird if they had saftey..
This applies to humans too, right now, you think your balls are important but if you loose them, your hormones will make you care about breeding a lot less.
i hate you already
I just got a lionhead. I have been watching these videos.
They r so helpful.
3:41 the rabbit death stare XD
im so happy i have friendly bunnies :3
nice profile pic, BoI is awesome
my rabbit just passed away.😢
Animal Lover101 Nope. Not at all. I would never joke about that.
:'(
Animal Lover101 :(
Animal Lover101 dafuq
Animal Lover101 oh I thought you meant eating the rabbit because of this comment feed
4:17 Watch that rabbit's head.. LOL So FUNNY!
It understood whats he said!
What *she* said, but yeah lol
1:50 this is the key ... don't chase them - they're actually testing you to see if you will respect them if they feel the need to get out of there
I believe if you chase them, even in a minor way, it still means a lot to a rabbit in a negative way
the thoughts and emotions of rabbits are complex and you can only start learning about them with a rabbit's permission
What if as long as I open the play pan door, my bun start to chase me and want to taste me literally 😭
How high was that cage?🤔
I'm so glad that I saw your videos... my bunny was super aggressive and hyper. but now the situation is great and here's right beside me and licking me in the face😊🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇
That rabbit looks like a werewolf rabbit
I think its a lionhead bunny
It is a lionhead wolf, and looks to be a junior doe.
The rabbits is so chill she’s like :oh hii
When he puts his head down next to your hand he is giving you permission to pet him. He wants you to rub his head. :) He is comfortable!
That's what I call the "pets pancake"..haha he wants pets! Usually rabbits will run when scared or have their huge eyes. :)
That rabbit is gorgeous
This really helped me thanks
Way I got along with my shy, scared bunny:
• Let her get along with the space
• Talk to her, still not petting
• Go wash your hands, rince it with soap very good (Preffered fruit scent soap), wash and dry very good
• Slowly move your hand to the bunny, find out which spot they like most to be pettet (My bunny loves her cheeks being pet, she hates her ears being pet)
• Pet her slowly and calmly
• If your pet was outside (Mine was), bring her inside, again let her get along with the area.
• Get her out of her box, slowly
• Bring her some chew toys
• Let her roam around the couch, or wherever you sit, she will eventually come on your lap or put her paws on your shoulder, or similar.
Thank You.
Help my bunny hates being held and petted and always runs away and jumps out of my arms what do I do to make it calmer ?!??
sorry accept its wishes and not hold and pet it . this site explains it much better than me if you read more of its posts
Rabbits don't like being picked up . They liken it to being picked up by a predator. I get down on the ground with my rabbit and stroke her .
Bunnies have high anxiety and most don't like to be petted. Respect it
Yeah, some rabbits are fine with petting and picking held, some rabbits will HATE it forever. You just gotta love what you ended up getting.
youll have to earn their trust and it will really takes a lot of time. jsut don't touch them if they don't like it. first learn to respect their space after that youll notice your bunny will go circle around you and they wants to be pet by you. sorry for bad english. they will learn to love you soon just be patient
This video helped me a lot when I barely got my bunny! She was turning very agressive and I didn't know why, but this video helped me a lot and now 3 years latter, she's a snuggle bunny that loves getting massages on top of her head as long as she sees my hand like how that lady shows xD
Who else watches the vid while looking at the comments 😂
Me
How are you I want to tell one thing my rabbit isn't anything what can I do
I have 2 wonderful rabbits...
maybe you need to slow down in her handling and give her more options to retreat. my bunnies have multiple cardboard boxes to go into. my female sometimes jumps at me when I intrude too much on her privacy but my male is absolutely calm, I can literally pick him up off the ground without him freaking out
MarcoManiac Oh really? :o
ColorfulDragons
yes. the funny thing is that even though the male is calmer, he is more difficult to put on his back for check-up purposes. on the other hand my female trusts me alot more with that and doesn't try to escape. It's cute how different their personalities can be
MarcoManiac Haha, yeah :)
I misread your comment and read it as " I've had this rabbit since i was born" and if it was four your four (according to my misread logic)
How to make rabbits friends again
i love how she is like oh noo when the woman put the box outside
I don’t know why I’m watching this my bunny is super sweet and never shows signs of aggression
OMG! That is a really cute bunny.😀
so I have an extremely aggressive rabbit that I actually bred myself and I'm afraid I gave her too much freedom so I was wondering what should I do to train her and what should I use to rain her and your opinion she barks and screams at me I'm just looking for anything to train her thank you
Lorretta is just doing her own thing
My rabbit always atacks my feet when I want to leave his cage
By bunny just had her second litter! 4 healthy rabbits but I want to know how many weeks old do they have to be to start eating solids?
Is it me or do her earnings look like tin foil? 😂😂 4:32 Dont be shy, but some more!
“ I’m full of hay here”. I’m dying laughing lol
o.O that's a rabbit...you're not grabbing a lynx...
i have 2 bonded bunnies (girls) and i just got my newest one spayed i waited a week to put them together again and the one that just got spayed become aggressive with my other one.... what do i do!
My rabbit's aggressive in the complete opposite way. He demands to be petted and massaged hahaha :)
This actually worked very well on my baby rabbit, shes very cute too c:
My rabbit is very tolerant with me but with anyone else he's usually on edge. I'm both happy and proud that he's never actually bit anyone, though.
How do I get two rabbits to get along? My sister has a rabbit and I just got one myself and we want to put them together but the keep circling and jumping on top of each others heads??? I don't know if that's fighting, playing, or a little bit of both. If you can please respond quickly
I have 2 rabbits and these vids help me so much
my rabbit is a netherland dwarf
aren't those types of rabbits naturally agressive
its like a part of their personality or something
can it be changed though
The entire front of my rabbits cage is an opening. Also, I let her put daily. Is cardboard okay for rabbits to eat?
yes cardboard is fine
plastic is better, also healthier
no my rabbit lobes plastic, she eats it everyday Hiago Farnesi
loves*
+Oliver Niga she will die soon
Your video is always interesting!
the second the door is open my rescue bunny growls and lunges. there is no chance to see about touching her head. during her hop around play time she might nudge you but she takes off before you can try to touch her. gotta get her fixed but that's so expensive, so we're gonna get her a better cage first
should i buy a 2nd cage for another rabbit?
I know that this is super late but I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I am part of a 4-H group and I currently show chickens. I want to get into showing rabbits and I am pretty sure spaying/neutering would not be an option, would these techniques work on cage aggressive does/bucks?
Hey..I need your help...
My rabbit has got a red blood spot at first on his forehead but after some days I noticed it was spreading ..n now....what should I do..?
My bunny growled when I jingles my keys and she chased it. Can that be a form of play or is it only territorial
so im a breeder. my bunny i raised her and she is being very aggressive ever since the last litter of my other doe. do you think she is jealous?
what noise dont they like? and thanks for replying!:) and he has constant access to food through the night too.
It's hard to explain over text... Hmm it's kinda like a fast, throat "ahh ahh" sound.. I would just try different things to see what your guy doesn't like. It shouldn't be loud, because you don't want to terrify him, just something he can associate with a "bad" action. And no problem! ( ˃᷄˶˶̫˶˂᷅ )
okay and Ive tried a few noises but he isnt even phased lol😂
+Metal8Lover Its okay! I let my bunnies play all the time :) bunnies are normally wild and outside, so its okay, just supervise
awesome videos! very informative! :)
