Maybe you could do £10 with only reduced stuff from a supermarket. (Usually, the most stuff is reduced like an hour or two before closing). P.s. love your channel recently found it. This may not be your intention, but as someone struggling for money, it's good to get some fun ideas. I'm really hoping your channel continues to grow!
@@Masterofchodes the world we live in now, when most go for reduced vs fresh now. back in the day reduced stuff was just pot luck now its essential to many
I'm on maternity leave so funds are low, and I'm enjoying this channel so much too. It's keeping my mind busy thinking about how I can make food cheaply.
I must say, in Manchester at least, it seems most supermarkets only mark down by 10% for food on its last legs. If there's an offer of 2 for £8 or something the reduced amount often makes it cost more than it would on offer. I can't work out the reasoning for this but I'd rather buy less and fresh. It's a big adjustment but it makes a huge difference in quality. I'm certainly not knocking the yellow labels as I used to use this system often but the supermarkets are abusing our pockets and it's not fair
At the time of this comment £10 is roughly $12.45. Here in the US we have sales tax added at the register, here it is 7%. We are pretty limited vs the UK. Videos like yours have inspired me to actually pay attention and see if it possible to eat that cheap here and I found pasta around 48cent, rice around a dollar, etc. I thought about doing a US version of this challenge, just to see what is possible, it might not be possible to pull the foods from a single source like you do.
Having worked at b and ms warehouse as a forklift driver i can tell you it does not stand for bargain maddness 😂 b&m basically stands for the founders name and surname, pretty boring, but a lot people seem to think that b&m means bargains and more or bargains madness... on another note, great vid as always!
My older sister used to work for them in the late 90's early 2000's for a business called Natural World. Pretty sure it was the same owners who went on to form B&M
From experience, B&M seem to sell a lot of things which cannot be found in any other shops. One of my personal favourites are their Milka mini cakes. They are cake bars with chocolate chips are chocolate syrup.
Surprised yours had no fresh stuff. Mine does a huge bag of apples for £1 and loads of similarly priced fruit and veg, just the basics like carrots and potatoes nothing fancy.
I usually don't like them tin potato's, when I boil them because they're so flavourless. but they look decent in air fryer Thanks you Sam I'm going try that 😁
I shop in B&M a lot. I find their cheap bacon to be pretty good too. They also sell willow spread cheap. Also try the mayflower sauces. I especially like the black bean sauce.. Alternatively I shop in farmfoods too. And I can live for a week easily on 20 quid.. Cool video.
Love your videos. You are a great cook and inspire me to be more venturous with meals. Could you do a video where Carolina buys you ingredients for £5 or £10 - then you have to make something with the mystery ingredients.
I use that butter chicken sauce regularly, but I use cream instead of milk and add extra butter and a bit of sugar to take the spice down a little. It's gorgeous!
That cheesy mug pasta was something I lived on when I was living on my own and had basically zero income! They were 4 for £1 back then and I would chuck in some peas and topped it with some grated cheese. Solid lunch.

The less connective tissue there is in a steak, the better it will be rare or blue. Some cuts aren't great cooked like it though. At least in my opinion
It denotes bargain madness, but it’s not what b&m stands for. It’s name actually stands for Billington & Mayman. After the original ownership under Malcolm Billington and Brian Mayman way back in 1978. I myself actually work for b&m.
Only seen 2 of your videos and they bug me. I think the other was lidi or aldi. some cheap shop and it feels like you reality aren't trying to get your moneys worth. like buy flour, yeast and make some bread or something, get more creative with your £10, for some people; me when I was younger, yes inflation etc, £10 had to feed a family of 3 for a week.
Where I live there's a B&M and Home Bargains right next door to each other. I often wonder if there's going to be a West Side Story type gang war eventually.
Here in Tunbridge Wells our industrial estate has Marks & Spencers Asda B&M and Aldi fairly close to each other and down past the Pantiles area we have Sainsbury's and Lidl. Tesco exist but only as an express/metro option in town and a large shop near Pembury
No pepper on your steak? That steak was really mooing when it went into your mouth... Steak can be so much better than this! Please educate yourself a bit.
Outstanding 🎉 I have to go to dollarama tomorrow and pick up some food to keep costs down. I will be a complete broke ass in May, and you have inspired me. Well done 👍
A friend of mine took a photo of a certain Boris Johnson at the checkout of our local B&M just after he moved in to the neighbouring village last year. Since then I have found it difficult stomach shopping there.
@@ScottyBugler2005 I went back a couple of weeks ago. Sat in the car for half an hour listening to the end of the radio play I had on. Went into Halfords to check something out. Then into B&M, back into Halfords before going home. A week later a penalty charge for £100 dropped on the mat. I had been parked for two hours and ten minutes. If I had parked in Tesco across the road I could have stayed there all day.
Walmart super centre stores have it all. Food, householdgpods, drug store, firearms, oil change and tyre change, clothing, electronics, you name it. It has it.
I have never shopped in B&M. It looks like it's similar to Wilkos, when that existed. That Naked noodle soup is really nice, I buy that quite often but it's only a snack. It's not at all filling.
£5 per day is a lot for food... also 86 calories isn't a meal, theres more calories in a single banana! Each day you were ate less calories than what a 2 year old needs, very alarming and unsustainable.
