The channel has more than doubled in size since I did this series 6 months ago, so I wanted new subs to be able to watch it all in one place, with less adverts, and no sponsored segments. Another new video out SUNDAY - thank you all for your support lately, you’re absolute nutters the lot of you
All the delivery, retail, cleaning, public service employees are doing this every single day for years and still keep a smile on. Just shows how undervalued and underpaid are the people making lives easier for others.
I started on a bicycle I bought for £200. Worked hard and bought an e-bike for £1400, worked even harder, passed my CBT and bought a brand new 125cc scooter for £2650, now I'm working hard towards passing my full motorcycle license and then I'm buying a 330cc scooter for around £3500. You get out what you put in with this job, it's not the platforms job to hold your hand and make it "easy"
if you wanna get extra tips, tell the customer "I'm so sorry for being late, the restaurant forgot an item in your order and I had to go back to tell them to make it! sorry for the delay" this used to have an insane success rate good luck
There's a reason all the delivery riders use electric bikes, but if your bike was set up better I think it would have been a lot easier. Saddle too low makes pedaling really hard. A set of hybrid/road tyres are better, or at least making sure the standard offroad tyres are very very pumped up. Also it looked like you were staying sitting down while going down curbs, if you stand up on the pedals while going down a curb you don't get haemorrhoids or infertile. love the vid.
I'm all for electric bikes but far too many of the ones used by cycle couriers are illegal overpowered ones. Something needs to be done about it as it's becoming the wild west out there. Both the delivery companies and the cycle couriers really should know better.
Not a necessity at all. Most orders are short distances, so it's fine. Think about it, they go 15mph... you can do that on your push bike. If you're not fit (and I mean you have back injuries or something because you can build fitness easy if you're healthy) then like Sneekz said get an electric. But push bike is the best imo, you'd just be doing ubereats to pay off your electric bike when it's not necessary lmao. I get 2 mile orders done fine but ofc it can be tiring if you're not fit
And another thing, I always see electric bike riders having to fix their bikes. Like I see a lot of them trying to repair them on the road and I'm there with my single speed low maintenance af crap bike living life lmao
Uber eats pay so poorly for such a massive company. They pay the worst out of everyone and you can tell they're an American company as they seem to expect your pay to be boosted by customers tipping. The only way to make any money as a delivery rider is to have two or even three apps open at the same time such as uber and just eat or just eat and deliveroo. These companies make a huge amount of money yet pay pennies to fulfill the orders!
You appeared in my recommended list this afternoon. I wasn't sure if i'd make it through the 1 hour and almost 52 mins, but you are so entertaining that I couldn't stop watching! You could give Zac Alsop a run for his money and he has almost 1.6 mil subs. Just subbed to you - You worked hard for it and deserve many more! P.s - I hope your bum has now recovered!
Watched this all the way through in one sitting. Outstanding! Can’t get enough of your content at the moment Ed! Great to see you’re finally getting the recognition you deserve! 👏🏻
Recently discovered your channel and can't get enough of your videos. You're a top lad and your content makes me laugh and is factual at the same time. Please keep doing more videos. Can't wait to see more of you. You're a genuine guy who makes me laugh. Cheers Ed 😊
I only discovered this channel a few days ago, every video ive watched has been great. You're very watchable and have interesting and funny content so i reckon youll explode on youtube pretty soon. Good luck to you mate, looking forward to watching more from you
Buzzing to see your channel starting to grow again! Been here for a while and you should be on such higher numbers. Most underrated creator on this platform 💯
Wow, never thought I would watch such a long video! Enjoyed watching this a lot as I am currently thinking of becoming a delivery rider. The thing is I just love cycling, I ride a couple of thousands of miles every year so I am not scared of hills or anything. Plus I live in Bristol which is well known for being very hilly. Loved the content, great narration, amazing sense of humour. Subscribed!
Just watched this all the way through which I have never done on UA-cam for that length of time or even close . Main stream content here Ed keep it up . Great to see you and Ellis on your channel as that's where I came across your channel 😀
My heart goes out to anyone who has to make their living this way. :( Also, how on earth can anyone afford to have food delivered or even afford take aways in 2023???
Bro, I'm in Leeds. I'm loving your channel, just watched all of this video and been howling and comiserating. Been through tonnes of PT jobs to survive and been tempted by delivery but I'm not tough enough. Hats off to you our lad!
I once solved the problem of an uncomfy bike ride, I used many pairs of "Old lady" knickers and layered up the seat with them , because they were elasticated it gave a good stretch tension and the seat became very comfy and made the bike un-knickable at the same time. Thinking back on this, I suppose I could have used smaller sized Y fronts as the shape is more fitting. 🤔
You could always buy a small boat, and taxi people across the channel for a grand per person 😂😂 you even get a free escort rescue boat following you, to keep you safe 👍
New to the channel. For some reason I got hooked on watching this from the start right till the end, even if you were completely unknown to me before this. I really wonder how you haven't "blown up" yet. It'll definitely happen any day now. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Finland.
gained a new sub! watching this while in my 9-5 doing emails, reminds me to not quit and keep going hahah thanks brotha for keeping me distracted, keep at it!
27:06 Literally a white British-looking guy "You're not from Leeds, innit?" That made me laugh :D They don't see a young white dude doing deliveries so often, they probably thought you're Polish :D
Just recently came across your videos, and none of them have been boring at all. With the type of content you do If you keep doing what you're doing and push yourself to do more and more unique videos and set yourself even harder challenges, you have the potential to be as big as Mr. Beast IMO KEEP IT UP👍
I was a delivery rider full time for about a year and it was absolute hell. Aside from the shit pay I also got assaulted several times, got spat on, had rocks, food, drinks thrown at me, had my e bike stolen. Also the restaurants frequently talk to you like you're a piece of dirt on their shoe, even though you're delivering their food. Barely any tips, long waits, and a LOT of rain. I could go on. Tip your riders, even if its just a small amount of change you have lying around, if a few people tip a day that could buy them their dinner.
Found you on my recommended for the dirtiest takeaway video. Just finished watching this one and gonna start making my way through the rest of your videos. Really good content and hope your channel takes off!
Ed, your bike handle bar skills is like watching a shitting dog in cold winter on frosted grass. Nervertheless, very enjoyable so far at 22 minutes in. Big channel soon.
I stumbled across your channel and had to subscribe. Being from Leeds myself and the other delivery driver saying ‘you don’t look like you’re form leeds’ make me howl 😂
Lad! Just came across your channel and loving the video's! THis one has been great so far! As I'm living in Shipley and quite often visit Leeds it's been great seeing you try this challenge in Leeds!
Without an E-bike, this is pure torture, but a decent E-bike that can be used for the distance you need, are pretty expensive, so you either already have one, or basically just pay one to make the money back. i have one that can do around 50-70km (~31-43miles). It did cost me around 650€ (~570£/670$). so if i could deliever food, it would take quiet the time to make even this back, especially as i live in a pretty rural area

thanks so much for this vid, i've been procrastinating at uni and needed a reminder what having a job is like. reminded me to make the most of the opportunity i have on this course. subbed and looking forward to seeing you go far with this channel
no worries mate, yeah definitely make sure you get the most out of uni, not just the course, but make some connections and find little ways of gaining experience in the rough direction you wanna go in or spend time figuring out what that is. Of course enjoy that social time too, because you're never going to have that uni setup ever again once you leave, keep going mate!
Bit late to the party but just caught this on my offerings so thought i'd take a look, have to say my first investment when I bought a bike again was a gel saddle cover !
Interesting so see this. I work at Just Eat in the Netherlands, and it's so different. We get paid by the hour (Just 1 euro above minimum wage so it's still shit) with a few bonusses depending on the city you work in. The work itself is mostly the same, getting orders from different places and delivering to the customer by bike. Difference is the bike infrastructure. We Dutch aren't great cyclists, you Brits that cycle are, cus you have to dodge way more shit and watch out for a lot of traffic and pedestrians. All in all, great video, keep it up
Brilliant series. I spent 2 weeks in Leeds for a training course last year, and it's weird to think I recognise pretty much all the city centre scenes 🤣
Could do with you delivering here! I live in a market town in suffolk and NO delivery service covers here (including some supermarkets aswell) it sucks bawls 😢 Its like living under the dome! Love ya stuff, fella!
I can't believe most people didn't tip! I give everyone a tip, even the dude who spilt my drink all over my food and ruined it got a tip 😂 Also, my mum's name is Sandra so that was quite cringe 😂
Great video pal,I never really comment on youtube but after watching this video is was pure class and an enjoyable watch. Look forward to watching your future content.
Great video, great idea, was enjoyable to watch. Now now, don't assume people are lazy or not bothered when they order from some where so close and in walking distance, some can't leave/are housebound, busy etc. 😊😂
It feels refreshing after meal, peppermints. Ed chapman u are genius. I will buy a bag and carry with me for tippers on my next shift. I wanted to buy something and didnt want candy because it aint neutral but peppermints are. Thank you so much subbed and liked.
Cheers Ed I come across your channel through watching Away days and have watched a few of your videos. I liked the realness of this series and how you didn't fake hitting the goal.
Really good video Ed keep up the good work! I saw someone I know from years ago on the video he was the feller who spoke about the need to join a union xD top man
LOVED your video first time came across I do deliveries myself I highly recommend you invest in an electric bike or get your bike converted to an electric bike it will make things for you such easy you will definitely see a change😅
Came up on my recommendations and well worth watching your content. You deserve more subscribers as your channel is just as good as others making similar types of videos. Good luck Ed 👍
You have to wonder how these delivery apps still function even if people cannot make minimum wage on them. Its probably people who cannot get a normal job for whatever reason.

Finished this today, wish you'd uploaded this earlier. Selfish mate. Class channel, keep it up.
Yeah just watched the whole series and just subscribed well done
Everyone say "thank you, Ed" for making it even easier to watch the best series on UA-cam

Electric bike definitely seems like a necessity in this line of work. Damn good video though mate, you're insanely motivated.
If you're fit it can easily be done with a push bike. The difference I've found is I just need more refuel breaks.

No, I won't encourage tipping in this country.
I don't use such delivery services anyway due to how their treat their 'independent contractors'.
I don't see why we have to tip. The price of the food that we pay for is expensive as it is. It is up to Uber to pay a decent wage.
