I´m looking for something similar for my vinyl store shed. Not sure if the gap between the doors are big enough to fit this one, but I like it specially because you can open from both sides.
For us do it your selfers, it is best and takes less time to install the latch first and then line up the latching pipe than installing the pipe first. Your fitting of the two will be much more accurate and fit better. And I think with you skipping most of the installation of the latching mechanism on the video video would have shown the extra time you spent trying to line it up properly.
I'm building a fence. I'm interested in your hinge setup that I only got a peek at. I have a situation like yours where the finished side privacy fence faces the street and the gate will allow access to my back yard. I want the hinges and latch to be on the back yard side of the fence so the gate opens into my backyard, not the front. I can't figure out what kind of hinges I need to accomplish this. My fence is a typical post with rails the front yard side and nice pickets attached to the rails. I want to install your type of latch so I can lock the gate on the backyard side. What kind of hinges to I use for this?
I have this type of lock and my grandson lifted the latching pipe from the ground and pushed the gate open with the lock we put on it still in tact and locked. Not secure at all. We’ve got to figure out what type of locking system we need to prevent someone pushing our locked gate open from the inside. Any suggestions???
I tried to visualize the problem. Maybe weld a vertical bar on the end of the horizontal bar? This should keep it from sliding out if the gate is physically lifted and moved. Let me know if this helps.
Damnit, all the local home store had was the crap where you use the dinky latches you can only use on the one side and had a stupid thing where you drill a damn hole through the gate and run a cable that hooks onto the latch then you have to pull on it to pull up the stupid latch and the thing keeps bending up and locking me in my yard making me walk through the house or climb an 8’ fence.. garbage…
Has anyone installed any security locks on these
How do you lock these things
Good job sir, but Did you know that you could reverse the direction of the latch so you could push down instead of up, as it should be?
Thank you
Has he not fitted it upside down as it is supposed to be a gravity lock and it is adjustable for fitting either side?
It's upside down. The latch can be taken apart.

I think that you did upset down.
Yup
we get really strong wind will this latch keep the gate closed
It comes with gloves??
Why aren’t latches designed so you can pull them open to the outside instead of pushing them open?
my latch is too wide to fit in between my fench gap :/

Why is everything so flat...do they have anything to add comfortable push up thumb handle?

You installed it upside down
I installed a latch gate of my own it is to go through to my neighbors house lol
incomplete review. you did not show how to lock the gate with pad LOCK
What pad lock do you recommend?
That’s not even a locking latch. That’s a self latching latch. Bad description
