Tchaikovsky. Waltz of the Flowers. A favorite of classical audiences, and every ballet dancer's worst nightmare. It's amazing to think about how many incredibly memorable melodies were written by Tchaikovsky - there are 3 in this piece alone - it's almost like everything that came out of his pen immediately found itself in the hearts of audiences, a truly rare feat. What a way to end the first half of the year, and to end the '2 million' series of videos - safe to say this one is the calm before the storm. I hope you enjoy the video and have a great Tuesday (one day late with this video...) and a great start to July tomorrow ♥

My parents always told me that when they drove me back home from the hospital when I was just a newborn, my dad put this waltz on the car radio. I don’t know if it’s related, but through the years this piece has become one of my favorites. I wish one day I’d be able to fully play it on the piano (working on that); seems like it would also be fitting to play this at my funeral - a homage to the beginning of my life, to my parents, and to the beauty I found in this world.
Thank you, Rousseau, for this amazing rendition.

But finding you, a human, watching your fingers and hands move to produce the same sounds I've always loved is different. It feels personal. Like you're playing in the room with me as I work. Yet I still somehow miss my pointe shoes that caused me so much pain, my friends in class, and especially the dark backstages to a performance. So once I learn how to play this, I hope I can dedicate all those memories to this song :)

I was a kid with hopes to be a good pianist but unfortunately, we're not rich enough to buy a full range piano and to pay for lessons. I considered our financial state, and continued to learn by myself despite the incomplete keyboard my parents bought for me as a request (on sale). I go to my friend's house and learn classical music there together. I'm 17 now, and realized I could've come far if i was richer so i can pay for my lessons and if I had a piano. I'm still with my 66key piano rn and I almost always ended up learning songs instead of classical pieces like this. But I don't blame anyone. I'm just jealous.
EDIT: MY PARENTS TOLD ME THEY ALREADY HAVE SAVED UP FOR IT AND TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY. AND NO I'M NOT CRYING 😫

Before high school I had that 66 keys keyboard, too. I was playing "he is a pirate" with one hand and without chords. Then I lived far from family in high school times, in dormitory. Luckily there was an electronic piano in music room. I guess I spend more time in that room than the study hall in dormitory for 4 years. Now I am playing piano for more than 8 years and I succeed to play chopin op64 no2 for example. I couldnt effort to a private lesson with a teacher but my sister was a lucky one to find a scholarship from a music school. After high school I was very lucky to buy a yamaha clp 320 second hand (with today's currency it was 200 dollar) and I had worked and saved almost all of this money. And this piano was the almost same with the one in high school. (It was clp 330). In these days I generally plays oogway ascends with imagine that astonishing sciene. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called present" this is a little part of my story. I wish you luck for rest of your story. It is Springtime again,
    The flowers blossom
    On the branches above,
    Celebrating new life
    When the wind blows
    Some of the flowers fall,
    Drifting down to the pond,
And land softly on the water
    The flowers gently turn,
    Carried this way and that
    By the playful current,
    Edging toward the rapids
    Unable to escape, the flowers
    Ride the rapids, tumbling
    And turning, rising and falling,
    Splashed with the spray
    They slide past the rocks
    And under the overhanging
    Branches of the trees
    Growing along the river's banks
Here the water is slower, calmer,
    They can come together again,
    River otters and birds watch
    As they float past them
Until a little girl, wading in
    The shallows, reaches down to
Pick up flower after flower, and
Carries them back to her mother
    "Look, Mummy, what I found
For you in the river," the girl says,
And her mother smiles and says,
    "Thank you. They're very beautiful."
"Don't you want them?" the girl asks,
And her mother shakes her head
And says, "It's like catching a fish --
It's better if you put them back in.
That way they can be seen by
    Everyone who watches the river,
    Until eventually the flowers reach
The waves of the distant ocean."
The little girl puts the flowers back
In the river; she waves as she watches
Them float out of sight, closes her eyes
    And wishes them safe journey
On their way downstream to the sea

Hey, Rousseau. I really hope you’re doing alright due to this horrible situation. I would be really glad, almost reassured I dare to say, if you could at least post something saying that you are fine. You can take your time and remember you have a community that awaits and supports you!

Omer Abbara I have no idea, but right now there are many things going around the world. This was the first time that Rousseau went on a large period of time with no uploads without telling us.

I hope nothing happened, I’ve been obsessed with his videos the past few weeks. I just started playing at the start of Covid. Anyways, be safe 👍

I don’t know if it was a troll or not but he said “*And then Rousseau never uploaded a video ever again* 😛” on his discord server. Hope he’s just kidding tho

Parts of this piece reminds of when someone is playing a harp. This is wonderfully performed, it captures the beauty of flowers and is overall amazing. But the way you played it was top-notch. Thank you for all the music you post, I love your channel and its so inspiring to me as a beginning pianist.

For an orchestral piece this works really well for solo piano, almost rag time in places
