- This is my VERY first time listening to SuperM! I came upon this video and thought I should do a reaction for you guys :) I hope you like it, I know I always like seeing someone discover something new.

SuperM are called “the Avengers of Kpop” because they come from different groups... each group have different concepts (like EXO’s concept of them being aliens with super powers) and last year for their debut teasers they show their concepts...in the Jopping mv (their first mv, you should watch it and the teasers) they are in different locations and use different ways to come together in this coliseum type place an show how each one of their talents become stronger when they are together (like the Avengers). The videos at the end are snippets of the teasers, which are connected to this mv too, because of the story line.
The members are:
Baekhyun (Leader) and Kai from EXO
Taemin from SHINee
Taeyong and Mark from NCT
Ten and Lucas from WayV (Chinese Sub unit of NCT)
They have a collaboration with Marvel since they debuted, that’s the reason why they have this super hero type of vibe.
“One” is a hybrid song which mixes “Infinity” and “Monster” which are in their new album. The original version of Infinity sounds like a legit Marvel soundtrack (the album is really good you should listen to it).

Kai main dancer of exo. In that category he is the best. Even in the kpop industry and among korean choreographers industry. He also raps and sings. Great potential in singing but he did not develop it because its hard to go full on singing and dancing at the same time. In exo baekhyun is in the top 3 because each exo main singer has a different style. Baekhyun is known for his range, power and incredible falsetto.

Baekhyun, the vocalist you liked and the leader of SuperM, has solo work. Candy and UN Village are the title tracks for his two amazing solo albums. Ten, the one who hit that high note with Baekhyun near the end has a couple of songs as well (My favorite is Dream in a Dream which primarily highlights his incredible dancing). Ten and Taeyong have a track called Baby Don't Stop that remains one of my most listened to songs. Taemin is from Shinee. Baekhyun and Kai are from EXO (Their latest title track Obsession is... I don't really have words. It's aptly named ). Taeyong, Ten, Mark, and Lucas are all from NCT. Taeyong and Mark are in the sub unit NCT 127. Ten and Lucas are in the sub unit WayV. I'm not sure how much you know about NCT, so I'll break it down for you just in case. NCT has 23 members at the moment (I think) and will continue to grow. Those 23 members are broken up into sub units which are NCT 127, NCT Dream (the youngest members of NCT), WayV (the Chinese members and Ten who is Thai. Their music is primarily in Mandarin), and NCT U (A sub unit that isn't fixed. They choose whichever members from NCT as a whole best fit the song and or concept. Baby Don't Stop is an NCT U song.). Taeyong is NCT's leader. I would apologize for the novel length comment, but I'm honestly restraining myself.

Fun fact: if you know SHINee's song history you would see several references to iconic SHINee moments within "One (Monster & Infinity)" For instance, SHINee has a song called "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" which was created by combining two songs from SHINee's Sherlock album "Clue" and "Note" to create their title track "Sherlock". Just like how "One (Monster & Infinity)" takes two songs, "Monster" and "Infinity" from SuperM's album to create their title track "One" on their Super One album. Also, as the SuperM members made reference to during their press conference, one of the parts of "One (Monster & Infinity)" choreography uses a finger movement that is very reminiscent of an iconic part of SHINee's "Lucifer" choreography.
Also something I find funny is that SM now owns at least 4 songs with the title of "Monster": EXO's "Monster," Super Junior-M Henry's solo song called "Monster," Red Velvet's sub-unit song with Seulgi and Irene called "Monster" and now SuperM's song "Monster." That won't get confusing or anything. LOL
Although "One (Monster & Infinity)" is still so new, that I haven't really had time to think about or analyze what is happening in the MV yet, right off the bat, what I see are references to Kai and his role in EXO's storyline with the numerous pyramid symbols you see throughout the MV. If you remember, Kai's symbol is a pyramid which represents his teleportation superpower.
How I interpret the scene with Kai hanging from the building, is that Kai is climbing up a building and as he is climbing, pieces of the building are breaking loose. Kind of like in a 007 or Mission Impossible movie, or maybe those are pieces of something that he is being attacked with from above or are falling from something being destroyed above him. You also see drones hovering below him, but I am not sure if that is what he is trying to avoid because they are controlled by the Red Force, or if that is part of SuperM's arsenal and they are helping him in his mission.
And the part where you see Lucas floating, reminds me of his part in Wayv's MV for "Turn Back Time" where his is suspended in the air as the fallen angel.
The fact that SM has now officially partnered with Marvel to fully bring to life SuperM's concept of being the Avengers of Kpop and the fact that their storyline is supposed to be about creating an Avengers-like group to help EXO battle the Red Force. Only makes me more sure that SuperM's storyline and all the groups represented within SuperM are all connected to EXO's larger storyline.
Also, at the end what you see are flashes of the pre-debut/ "Jopping" MV, teasers which was how SuperM was introduced last year and it showcased the members special powers and abilities and helped to establish the group's concept and storyline. Which was a lot like how EXO's storyline was started and has unfolded over the years.
The last clip with Taemin and that LG phone device is new, and besides being a product placement ad, it also is clearly the next clue or piece of SuperM's storyline. i'm pretty sure Taemin is setting up something that will become important in the future to continue SuperM's story.
Plus, we see, Kai, and maybe also Taeyong, is using the same device in the MV during the part where they have the tan military outfits on.
When it comes to SM content, nothing SM does is random, and especially when it comes to anything to do with a member of EXO. :D
If you want to understand more of how SuperM and EXO connect, if you haven't already, you should watch all of SuperM's pre-debut teaser videos. They are what sets up the storyline and explains each of the member's role in the group. But like EXO's concept, everything to do with SuperM is just as mysterious.

Everything about SuperM is supposed to connect to EXOs storyline. SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun, who is one of the best vocalist in the industry, and Kai, who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry, are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers, and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Taeyong is the leader of NCT and he is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV.
SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world. The group debuted in the U.S. last year so that is why "One (Monster and Infinity)," "100" and their debut song "Jopping" are mostly in English because "Jopping" was meant to be their foyer into the U.S. music market, and "100" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" continues that plan.
Mark is Korean-Canadian, so he is the fluent English speaker of the group. And WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, so not only does Ten and Lucas speak Korean and English, but they also speak Mandarin. Ten also speaks Thai because he is from Thailand and Lucas speaks Cantonese because he is from Hong Kong and a little Thai because his mom is Thai. And although, Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin and Taeyong are all native Korean, they also speak many other languages. For example, Taemin, and his group SHINee, are very popular in Japan, so he is fluent in Japanese as well.
Baekhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 28 and Mark is the youngest at 21.) However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 27 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old, so he is a super senior member of the group. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which is rightfully so, because Taimin has earned the reputation as one of the TOP dancers and solo performers in the industry, as well as a member of one of the best Kpop groups, SHINee. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM.
It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big super group.
I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. (In "Jopping" you will see them using their powers.) However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other member (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser videos leading up to their release of "Jopping".) So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXOs storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc.
And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM doing the same thing with SuperM.
Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight.
Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's storyline also connects to EXO's storyline, just like how many believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline -- it is believed that Red Velvet may be the Red Force. I think that SM may even have set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
It has been said that SM has been planning to create SuperM for years and songs such as "Superhuman," "Take Off" and "New Heros," for example, may have been specifically used to create a connection between NCT/WayV and SuperM and may, in the future, connect the storylines in those MVs to the story in SuperM.
I think SuperM was SM's way of showing us that from now on we need to pay attention, because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected. SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with "Moonwalk" and I think "Moonwalk" is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" is also part of that story.
To help explain, I think EXO are the ones who are members of SuperM and they are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys.
Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force.
So on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, and maybe even Taemin's solo work (and possibly -- but not 100% sold on the idea -- even eventually SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. So who knows, when SHINee comes back maybe SM will draw them into the storyline as well.

There is a storyline. You should check Jopping which is released in 2019. Taemin is a role of Nick Fury gathering members together to start a battle in multiverse(or virtual world). There are character trailers besides MV.(the last part)

at 9:50 in the video thats Lucas from WayV, he's a major sweetie cutie pie and goofball, he's the tallest in the group i believe at 6'1" but he dances incredibly well and raps, although he hasn't so far had alot of lines as a rapper in SuperM, if you want to hear him more you'd need to check out WayV which TEN is also from.
the video clips at the end are from the teasers they put out for Jopping their Debut song, but Taemin said the ending video was a spoiler for future content, I suspect they're all connected

That sign at the end of the video in that phone is for a new group of SM called " Aespa " When this mv was released that group was about to debut after sometime so it was just a promotion for the new group Aespa.

You should check out SuperM from the very beginning, the teasers! Every member was introduced with a teaser that showed them being recruited by Taemin to form this supergroup, avengers style, which debuted then with the song Jopping. All those snippets you see at the end of One are from the teasers. Honestly, we still don't know the real storyline, there's many theories around and until a new MV comes around I guess we won't know.
So definitely watch the teasers in order (Taemin's must be the last one) and then Jopping! The other SuperM MVs are "100" and "Tiger inside" but they don't offer insights into the storyline except futuristic looks.
There's a SuperM performance video as well that was released before Jopping which features a sort of dance battle between Ten, Taemin, and Kai.

The song name "One (Monster & Infinity)" shows that the song "One" is a combination of the 2 songs "Monster" and "Infinity" (all 3 songs from the same album "Super One").
I like to think that they got the idea from Taemin/SHINee because back in 2012 SHINee release a song called "Sherlock (Clue + Note)" which was a combination of their songs "Clue" and "Note" (again, all 3 songs from the same album "Sherlock (EP)").
I hope that clears it up a bit :)

ONE (Monster & Infinity) it's a mix song in collabo woth MARVEL & SMentertaiment... thats the reason of the sounds and concept of the song... it has a very HEROIC sounds and melody.

It looks like things you're questioning or mention are answered in the comments already. Although from skimming comments I don't see much on clarifying that this is mostly another attempt from SM to target the Western market, which is my their title tracks are mostly in English. I saw comments saying they are also under Capitol Records and have a collaboration with Marvel, so I don't have to go into that. The clips at the end of the MV, before showing Taemin in the grass with the phone, are from the teaser videos from when SuperM was first debuting. I see others have mentioned that this song is literally a combination of the songs Infinity and Monster; personally, I don't really listen to One, I just listen to the songs individually. I think they sound better like that.
Also, EXO is my favorite group and Baekhyun is my favorite vocalist! My bias of EXO is Chanyeol, who is also my ult bias overall.

Kai main dancer of exo. In that category he is the best. Even in the kpop industry and among korean choreographers. He also raps and sings. Great potential in singing but he did not develop it because its hard to go full on singing and dancing at the same time. In exo baekhyun is in the top 3 because each exo main singer has different style

And only SM has done this concept. They did it twice actually and Taemin and Kai are in both. The first time, the group was called Younique Unit and their song is called Maxstep. It also has 1 girl, Hyoyeon, from Girls Generation!

Younique unit was not a super group. It was a project group. And they didn't even have an album for themselves. Just a few singles. SM ent actually has a lot of project groups and collaborations between its artists under different names for example sm the ballad.

It would be cool if you reacted to SuperM reacting to 'One' - they give more insight to what's happening in the video, and it's also a good way to see a glimpse of their personalities. SuperM have very good chemistry and synergy. When they go live on IG or VLive, it's always easy to see how genuinely they enjoy the supergroup project and each other's company! They're also special in the sense that the members vary greatly in terms of experience, unlike most other Kpop groups in which all members have debuted at the same time (whereas in SuperM e.g. Taemin debuted in his original group in 2008, and Lucas debuted in his in 2018!).
On another note, since your words give me the impression that you're pretty new: welcome to the Kpop fandom! I hope it'll be a long and enjoyable stay 😂 I'm curious about how you got into Kpop. If you have mentioned it in some of your videos, you can also just point me to that instead of explaining through text ^^

Actually, for me, SuperM was the first kpop boy band that I liked! Back then, I listened to some kpop girl groups, but I was definitely not a fan of boy kpop... One day I accidentally found SuperM and they brought me into boy kpop!))
Now, SuperM is not my favorite kpop band (I'm a Staytiny (Stray Kids & ATEEZ)), but I still really enjoy their music.

They aren’t really the “best” members in their respective group. It’s not really easy to define best as they all have different specialties and role in the group. But they are all centers and they suit the concept so that’s probably part of the reasons they were chose but there equally great members in their respective groups. This group is all star. If you want outstanding vocals, dancing and rapping with no holes and literally just amazing, then this is that group. Hope you react to more nct, exo, and shinee❤️. Plus this is like a group full of main dancers. They’re all one of the best dancers in kpop so expect that they all dance great. Check out their dance practices please to see their dancing.

Kai is best friends with Taemin from SHINEE and Jimin from BTS! They're all amazing dancers and are so graceful with their work. I highly recommend watching Kai's solo debut title track: Mmmh. He has a dance practice, music video, and live stage for it. I think you would really enjoy seeing the feminine and masculine sides of Kai. He worked really hard on his solo debut and he's very proud of his work :)

Lucas does sound very American when he speaks English. He also knows too many languages and sometimes him and Ten switch languages mid-sentence. The sign on Taemin's phone is for SM's new girl group Aespa, who debuted with Black Mamba just after this dropped. EXO's Baekhyun is the vocalist you like. My favorite song of his is still Take You Home, it's so sweet.

Since you know more about Exo, Shinee and NCT, I will tell you a little more about WayV, the group that you are missing and to which Lucas (you liked his accent when singing at the end) and Ten (he makes the high note with Baekhyun) belong. WayV (acronym for "We are your Vision").
WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT and although they mainly sing in Mandarin they have original English versions for their international audience in addition to being in charge of the Mandarin versions of some original NCT songs, this group debuted in early 2019, it is relatively new .
Recommendations:
"Love Talk" ballad whose English version is extremely sexy (I love it).
"Moowallk" (her video will make you feel in a world of StarWars futuristic and decadent at the same time)
