Welcome to the world of Kpop! You could not have chosen a better start! As SuperM are the Avengers of Kpop, this is the perfect place for you to start. I recommend checking out more SuperM songs and getting to know the members with one of the guides that you can find on UA-cam. SuperM is a combination of some of the best members from other groups (hence the Avengers title). Once familiar with SuperM, you can easily segue into checking out the members’ other groups...SHINee, EXO, NCT, and WAYV (technically also part of NCT). You are going to love it! So excited for you! I’ll subscribe for future reactions! :)
SuperM is made up of 4 groups so that’s why they’re like the avengers of K-POP and they recently put out merch with their collab with marvel where they were comic book characters, but if you can notice at the end they are actually a part of a big story their like from different universes in each group coming together.
But the groups are:
SHINee-Taemin- blonde/blue hair referred to as MJ of kpop
EXO- Beakhyun-leader of SuperM brown hair vocals you likes, Kai- vocals shirtless and climbing the building
NCT 127- Taeyong- gray hair rapper broke the ground, Mark- red hair rapper
WayV- Ten- Black hair vocals high note with Beakhyun, Lucas- rapper brown hair floating and end piece chillin with the other ones part.
Note: NCT 127 and WayV are sub-units of a big group or NCT and as a whole there are 23 members and they have a comeback this month and next month with all members together called NCT2020 so it’s something to look out for and Taeyong is the leader of the whole 22 NCT members.

WELCOME TO KPOP! SuperM are the Avengers of Kpop, where the members come from 4 super HUGE groups SHINee, EXO, SuperM and NCT/WayV! Check them out next, as well as more SuperM stuff!!!!
Super M debuted just a year ago... they have an storu line.. each membar has a concept.. is like a movie...
This is so awesome! OK, so SuperM is known as the "Avengers of Kpop" because the members actually are a combination of members from several groups from one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea. They're all under the company SM Entertainment, which worked with Capitol Records to put together SuperM to market in the U.S.. In SuperM, there are members from the SM groups SHINee, EXO, and NCT. I'll break down the members and their groups!
Just to start, some more SuperM to check out is Tiger Inside, 100, and Jopping (their debut song). Jopping is a FANTASTIC song and I think you'll like it a lot.
SHINee: So the member at 5:36 singing and making the pose and is more clearly shown at 5:47 is Taemin! He is in the SM group SHINee who debuted in 2008! Taemin is currently working as a soloist and a member of SuperM while representing SHINee since his older members are currently coming back from military enlistment! Some of SHINee's music to check out is Married to the Music, View, and Lucifer. Those are just a few to get started. As for Taemin as a solo artist, some of his music you can check out is Criminal, Move, and Want. He's widely known as the "Michael Jackson of Kpop."
EXO: There are 2 members in SuperM from EXO. The member at 5:51 and 2:56 is Baekhyun, and the member at 2:52 is Kai. EXO debuted in 2012 and are one of the biggest names in kpop. They are a 9-member group, though they are currently on hiatus as a full group since members are currently enlisted in the militray. HOWEVER, B aekhyun and Kai still have stuff to check out, as well as EXO. For EXO as a whole, some good songs to start with are Tempo, Love Shot, Ko Ko Bop, and Growl. They have lost some members over the years, so there will be some extra members in Growl. As for solo activities, Baekhyun has two solo albums/mini albums. His to MV's for those are UN Village and Candy, which I highly reccomend. As for Kai, he is supposed to make his solo debut later this year, so keep a look out for that! He's also a global brand ambassdor for Gucci, but that's not got much to do with his music.
NCT: The other 4 members are from the group NCT. NCT is more of a "boy brand" and within it are several differnt sub-units/groups. This is a carrd with an explanation of their system and members! neotech2020.carrd.co All together, NCT has 23 members. The members in SuperM are Mark 2:31 (homie's drippin), Taeyong 2:43 with long silver hair, Ten 5:00 (at 5:06 you can see a countdown going 7 8 9 that flashes his face since his name his Ten), and Lucas 6:57 doing the whole outro. NCT has several different sub-units, and these members are primarily in 2 of the 4. Mark and Taeyong are in NCT 127, which is probably the most well known sub-unit. Mark is from Canada and is also a member in another sub-unit in NCT: NCT Dream. Some songs of theirs to check out are We Go Up, Boom, and Go. Some of 127's songs to check out are Chain, Cherry Bomb, Touch, Kick It, and Regular (English Ver.) Ten and Lucas are mainly in the Chinese sub-unit of NCT called WayV. They operate and market mostly in China, so WayV's songs are sung in Chinese and all the members of WayV are of Chinese descent! Ten is from Thailand and Lucas is from Hong Kong. Some of WayV's music to check out is Take Off, Moonwalk, Regular (Chn Ver), and Turn Back Time. They also have a lighter song and MV called "Let Me Love You" that's really nice.

Not all Kpop has as much English lyrics as this group, but because they were debuted as an international Kpop group, they have more English lyrics to their songs. .
They are a group made up of members of 4 groups. Baekhyun and Kai are from EXO, Taemin is from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark are from NCT, and Lucas and Ten are from WAYV. All of them are from successful Kpop groups, so you should react to their music from their original groups as well. WAYV is a Chinese sub-group, so their music is Chinese, not Korean.

SuperM is different than any other Kpop group in existence. The group was created by SM Entertainment, the biggest and most influential Korean entertainment company in the world, in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun, who is one of the best vocalist in the industry, and Kai, who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry, are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers, and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Taeyong is the leader of NCT and he is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV.
SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world. The group debuted in the U.S. last year so that is why "One (Monster and Infinity)," their previous release from this album "100" and their debut song "Jopping" are mostly in English because "Jopping" was meant to be their foyer into the U.S. music market, and "100" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" continues that plan.
Mark is Korean-Canadian, so he is the fluent English speaker of the group. And WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, so not only does Ten and Lucas speak Korean and English, but they also speak Mandarin. Ten also speaks Thai because he is from Thailand and Lucas speaks Cantonese because he is from Hong Kong and a little Thai because his mom is Thai. And although, Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin and Taeyong are all native Korean, they also speak many other languages. For example, Taemin, and his group SHINee, are very popular in Japan, so he is fluent in Japanese as well.
Baekhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 28 and Mark is the youngest at 21.) However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 27 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old, so he is a super senior member of the group. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which is rightfully so, because Taimin has earned the reputation as one of the TOP dancers and solo performers in the industry, as well as a member of one of the best Kpop groups, SHINee. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM.
It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big super group.
I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. EXO is one of the most popular and talented Kpop boy groups in the industry and the group is known for their epic storyline and concept which has been a constant part of everything they do as a group for more than 8 years now. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. (If you watch their debut MV for their song "Jopping" you will see them using their powers.) However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other member (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser videos leading up to their release of "Jopping".) So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXOs storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc.
And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertainment doing the same thing with SuperM.
Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight.
Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline, just like how many believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline -- it is believed that SM's girl group Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, may be the Red Force. I think that SM may even have set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
I think songs such as "Superhuman," "Take Off" and "New Heros," for example, may have been specifically used to create a connection between NCT/WayV and SuperM and may, in the future, connect the storylines in those MVs to the story in SuperM. I also think SuperM was SM's way of showing us that from now on we need to pay attention, because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected. SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with "Moonwalk" and I think "Moonwalk" is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" is also part of that story.
To help explain, I think EXO are the ones who are members of SuperM and they are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. (X-EXO are EXO's alter ego clones who have been created by the evil Red Force. And the Red force is who EXO are battling) If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys.
Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force.
So on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, and maybe even Taemin's solo work (and possibly -- but not 100% sold on the idea -- even eventually SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. So who knows, when SHINee comes back maybe SM will draw them into the storyline as well.

Fun fact: if you know SHINee's song history you would see several references to iconic SHINee moments within "One (Monster & Infinity)" For instance, SHINee has a song called "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" which was created by combining two songs from SHINee's Sherlock album "Clue" and "Note" to create their title track "Sherlock". Just like how "One (Monster & Infinity)" takes two songs, "Monster" and "Infinity" from SuperM's album to create their title track "One" on their Super One album. Also, as the SuperM members made reference to during their press conference for the release of their album, one of the parts of "One (Monster & Infinity)" choreography uses a finger movement that is very reminiscent of an iconic part of SHINee's "Lucifer" choreography.
Also something I find funny is that SM now owns at least 4 songs with the title of "Monster": EXO's "Monster," Super Junior-M Henry's solo song called "Monster," Red Velvet's sub-unit song with Seulgi and Irene called "Monster" and now SuperM's song "Monster." That won't get confusing or anything. LOL
Although "One (Monster & Infinity)" is still so new, that I haven't really had time to think about or analyze what is happening in the MV yet, right off the bat, what I see are references to Kai and his role in EXO's storyline with the numerous pyramid symbols you see throughout the MV. If you remember, Kai's symbol is a pyramid which represents his teleportation superpower.
How I interpret the scene with Kai hanging from the building, is that Kai is climbing up a building and as he is climbing, pieces of the building are breaking loose. Kind of like in a 007 or Mission Impossible movie, or maybe those are pieces of something that he is being attacked with from above or are falling from something being destroyed above him. You also see drones hovering below him, but I am not sure if that is what he is trying to avoid because they are controlled by the Red Force, or if that is part of SuperM's arsenal and they are helping him in his mission.
And the part where you see Lucas floating, reminds me of his part in Wayv's MV for "Turn Back Time" where his is suspended in the air as the fallen angel.
The fact that SM has now officially partnered with Marvel to fully bring to life SuperM's concept of being the Avengers of Kpop and the fact that their storyline is supposed to be about creating an Avengers-like group to help EXO battle the Red Force. Only makes me more sure that SuperM's storyline and all the groups represented within SuperM are all connected to EXO's larger storyline.
Also, at the end what you see are flashes of the pre-debut/ "Jopping" MV, teasers which was how SuperM was introduced last year and it showcased the members special powers and abilities and helped to establish the group's concept and storyline. Which was a lot like how EXO's storyline was started and has unfolded over the years.
The last clip with Taemin and that LG phone device is new, and besides being a product placement ad, it also is clearly the next clue or piece of SuperM's storyline. i'm pretty sure Taemin is setting up something that will become important in the future to continue SuperM's story.
Plus, we see, Kai, and maybe also Taeyong, is using the same device in the MV during the part where they have the tan military outfits on.
When it comes to SM content, nothing SM does is random, and especially when it comes to anything to do with a member of EXO. :D
If you want to understand more of how SuperM and EXO connect, you should watch all of SuperM's pre-debut teaser videos. They are what sets up the storyline and explains each of the member's role in the group. But like EXO's concept, everything to do with SuperM is just as mysterious.
Here is some information about how NCT works.I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry. NCT's whole concept as a group has to do with dreams and dreaming so everything you see in their MVs is some aspect of dreaming or being in a dream state, etc.
NCT are SM Entertainment's newest/youngest group.
It is no surprise that you are impressed by NCT's vocals, rapping and dancing, because as an SM Entertainment group that is just something we fans have come to expect. That's just a fact about the type of people that SM selects to be a part of its company. SM has become known for its amazing vocalists and dancers and that is one reason why it's one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world.
If you follow SM Entertainment groups, you will soon discover that all of SM's rappers were actually chosen to become trainees for their vocal and/or dancing skills. All of SM's rappers learned to rap, or at least became good at it, after they joined the company. Therefore, all of SM's rappers are amazing vocalists, as well as really good rappers. SM is known for having some of the best vocalists and dancers in the industry, being good at rapping is just a bonus.
NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 23 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units.
NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo and Sungchan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle).
NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL
The first unit to debut was NCT-U which began April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the same members who are in NCT-127, plus they add and subtract other members from the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members.
The second sub-unit is NCT-127 (NCT-one two seven) which began July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members, however members can be added or removed from the group depending on the current concept for the song, etc. This group's members don't change quite as much as the other groups. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So it's 127's job to represent Seoul around the world.
You should now check out the dance practice video for "Kick It" because the MV doesn't even begin to do the choreography justice. You will discover when you see the full dance that there are parts you probably missed in the MV which makes the choreography even cooler.
NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and, it is made up of all the youngest members of the group. All the Dream member's are currently between the ages of 18 and 20 years old (they were 14-17 when they debuted.) SM originally created this sub-unit with the idea that If they had a trainee that they felt was ready to debut even though they were really young, they would start out as a member of NCT-Dream. They were the cute babies of the group who were learning the ropes and honing their skills because they are young, but they are also some of the most talented because they debuted way sooner than a lot of trainees. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they are no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (who is also a member of NCT-U, NCT-127 -- the only NCT member to debut as part of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- and SuperM) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun, who are all now older than 19, we thought would be graduating soon. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut sometime this year and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM earlier this year announced that they decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole " graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group. But this doesn't mean new members won't still be added to the group if SM decides a new trainee would fit well, etc.
The fourth sub-unit is WayV which debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name is because of the conflict between the Korean and Chinese government and how China was not allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCTs Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV were originally members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese.
(Kun, the leader of WayV, debuted as a member of NCT-2018, which was a special project in 2018 with all 18 members of NCT at the time.)
NCT was created by SM Entertainment in 2016 and the group is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units in every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, (If you haven't already, you should check out "Let's Shut Up and Dance" with Jason Derulo, Lay from EXO and NCT-127), as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc.
So this year is NCT's 4th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted. For instance, Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung (All NCT-Dream members.) were part of the Disney Channel Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on a regular weekly variety show on the Disney Channel for a year before debut. Mark was the oldest member at around 15 and Jisung, who is NCT's youngest member, was around 13 at the time. But other members also did other things as part of SMRookies as well. And then there are members such as Lucas who technically debuted in 2018, but we saw him in one of Ten's solo songs as a featured extra in 2017.
Here is some information about EXO that I hope will help answer most of your questions. EXO's concept and storyline is kind of complicated, so in order to understand what is happening in their MVs you need to understand their origin story.
EXO is known for their vocals and for their dancing. As an SM Entertainment group it's really no surprise that the members are all amazing vocalists and dancers because that's just a fact about the type of people that SM selects to be a part of its company.
Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 8 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story and why they are on Earth, etc.
To truly understand EXO you need to understand that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and It is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept. So to really understand EXO you need to watch both of their "Mama" MVs. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet EXO and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one if not all of them using their powers.
Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. EXO's concept is also connected to real life planetary and solar events, so several of EXO's comebacks and new song releases for the main group of EXO are timed to when eclipses and other planetary phenomenons take place. For example, their comeback for their War album and Power repackaged album coincided with when we had a solar eclipse, etc. SM Entertainment, and its founder, Lee SooMan, has all of EXO's release dates and concepts planned out for years in advance, and it often has something to do with real celestial events that are predicted to take place.
Now you also need to know that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So to really understand their full origin story you have to watch BOTH the K and the M version of "Mama" not just the K version, because even though both the K and M versions of "Mama" feature all 12 of the members, the K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the M version focuses on the M members and their powers.
However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 of the members. Kris and Luhan left in 2014 and Tao left in 2015.) However, now, because they no longer have enough Chinese members they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin they just now promote all as one big group EXO with 9 members.
Not only does EXO have amazing MVs, but it's almost always double because most of the time when they have a Korean version they also will have a Mandarin version, so it means they have to shoot two separate videos.Their fandom name is EXO-L because L falls right between K and M and it stands for Love. 😍Get it? EXO-K, EXO-L, EXO-M (K-L-M in the alphabet)
Once you have seen "Mama" and start to understand EXO's backstory., if you watch any of their other MVs, it should make more sense to you if you keep in mind all the details about them being aliens with superpowers and how they are on a mission, etc.
So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story including SuperM's storyline, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. With every new project a new piece of the storyline is revealed.
Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, choreography, concert VCRs and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all.
To help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances here is a list of the members and what their special power is.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho)

Taemin is just one of those performers that leaves you speechless every time he steps on stage. He was born to be a performer and that is one of the reason's why he has become known as the Korean Michael Jackson. That is also why, as one of the top two performers in the industry, and why he was made a member of SuperM.
Taemin is one of the most popular solo artists in Korea, as well as the youngest member of the legendary Kpop group SHINee. He debuted as a solo artist in 2014 while also continuing as a member of SHINee. (Kpop artists often have solo careers outside of their groups while also participating in group activities and music.)
Taemin is one of the best dancers in the industry and that is not just a fan's opinion but it's a title given to him by his peers and the industry as a whole.. You really need to check out more of his work to see what we mean.
He is also best friends with Kai from EXO and together they command the top spots as the BEST in Kpop and one of the best in the world. Hands down, Taemin's and Kai's talents are unmatched. They truly are one of a kind and they are considered Idols' Idols.

When Taemin debuted in 2008 as part of SHINee he was only 14 years old, and yet, he was already known as one of the best dancers in the industry, and he has only gotten more magnificent over the years.

The funny thing is, although Taemin is ultra confident when on stage, when not performing his personality is the complete opposite.That's what makes him even more lovable and why he is so popular.

SHINee are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. And that is what makes Taemin so extra special.
You really should check out SHINee, and especially their live performances, because their stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear.

Since the only group I’m really confident with is Exo (still learning about the other groups) I’ll tell you how they are. 2 members are in this group Kai and Baekhyun. Baekhyun(the leader of SuperM) holds the record of the 1st soloist in 19 years to sell a million physical copies and Kai is coming out with a much anticipated solo album as well (he’s a Gucci ambassador) Exo as a whole is known as the Vocal Kings of Kpop and Nation’s pick for Korea. The more I learn about the other groups though I’m learning they have their own great accomplishments. A super group is what SuperM is.

To explain MV, 'One' is a hybrid remix of two songs in the album w/c are 'Monster' and 'Infinity' but they nailed it haha! You are very lucky to come across with this super group as your first ever Kpop to react to coz SuperM might set the bar for you when it comes to Kpop. They debuted in 2019 under Capitol Records and have called themselves the "Avengers of Kpop". Funny thing is, they actually are the Avengers of Kpop, because they just got a partnership with Marvel. One is the title track for their latest album, and it's a combination of two of their bride tracks "Monster" and "infinity". This is the second time, I believe, SM has done this. The first time was with Shinee's Sherlock, which was a mix of two of their b side tracks. You should also check it out, it's a great song. Hope you continue to follow these guys and maybe take a look at their own groups. But "Wish You Were Here" and "Better Days" are my two favorite b sides from their album, they performed those two live for a show on their channel.

Ok so it may be long but if you have time read this "explanation".
Capitol records went to SM Entertainment (which is one if the biggest companies in korea when it comes to Kpop) asking if they could make an alliance with a new super group that could market in the west, so they took some members from already existing groups, avoiding that way the whole process of debuting a new group. They were, at first, self-proclaimed “Avengers Of Kpop” cause each member came from already successful groups, but that later earned their name on their own with their first mini album and US concert tour. The song “One” is a mix of two songs “Monster” and “Infinity” and the 3 of them are part of their first length album “Super One” that was released the same day of the MV, there are other MV´s that are part of the album that you should check out, “100” and “Tiger Inside”. So let me explain the members to you so you may become more used to their faces and positions (which is kinda important in Kpop)
1) Taemin (4:20): he is the silver hair one from the beginning. He comes from the group Shinee that debuted in 2008, he was 14 years old at the time making him the “eldest” when it comes of experience in the industry. His position in this groups is “Main Multitalented” which means he can be any position whether its vocals, dancing, center, etc. He is regarded as the Michael Jackson of Kpop. He has a solo career too and his latest album “Never Gonna Dance Again: ACT I) also came out this year, so his latest song “criminal” is a must react in my opinion.
2) Baekhyun (2:58) : He comes from the group EXO that debuted 2012, he is known for his amazing vocals (as most of that group really) and actually only trained for like 7 months, which is amazing on itself because most kpop stars train for years before debuting. He is the Main Vocalist and the Leader of the group, which was a position chosen by the other members because of his ability to make friends with everyone and lighten any mood. He is a vocalist that many other kpop artists admire. He also as a solo career and his latest album came out this year as well, and I would recommend his MV for the song “Candy”.
3) Kai (3:54): He is also from EXO. He is widely known in the industry for his dance skills, miking him the Main Dancer in both EXO and Super M. He used to practice ballet when he was a child and so he has been practicing since a young age although his voice is very soothing and trained as well. He is known as the “Idol´s Idol” since he has a great stage charisma and presence, so al lot of the idols look up to him. He is supposed to release his solo later this year.
4) Taeyong (4:05): He is the Leader of his own group NCT that debuted in 2016 and the Center position from Super M, which is a position that literally means that most of the times this member would be on the center whether is performing, in MVs or interviews. He is one of the youngest members when it comes to performing but he is really skilled as a dancer, rapper and as a composer, since he actually has composed many songs for NCT. He has a MV for the song “Long Flight”.
5) Mark (2:31): he is also from NCT, in both NCT and Super M he is the Main Rapper and Maknae (The youngest member). He is actually Canadian so you can see him talking a lot during international interviews and since Korean is not his first language sometimes he has a hard time understanding it (there are many compilation videos about it, all of them pretty funny).
6) Ten (3:47): He is also from a “branch” of NCT called WayV in wich he is the Main Dancer and Main Vocalist in comparison of Super M in which he is the Lead Dancer and Vocalist (the Lead is the 2nd one with better Singing and Dancing technique). He is from Thailand so he also as some trouble when it comes to understanding a lot of Korean words (he is also in the compilation videos haha) although he speaks mandarin and English as well. He as a solo MV called “Dream a Dream”
7) Lucas (6:56) : He comes from WayV as well, in both Super M and WayV he is the Lead Rapper and Main Visual, the latter meaning that he is considered literally the most handsome of the group (he jokes about it all the time). He is from Hong-Kong so he also as trouble with Korean (yes, he is in the compilation videos). He is really funny, chill and likes to joke around (and laugh at his own jokes, king behavior tbh).
Of course I must have forgotten something in between but I think this is kinda of a brief summary about them and what they do and represent in the Kpop community.

Super M was formed last year. All 7 members come from different groups. We got members from Shinee (group from 2008), EXO, NCT and WayV. These groups made a lot of fantastic songs for a lot of years and are still there. The members did not leave their original groups. Super M is a addinal group where the 7 are active. They recently droped their album and it is really good. You should listen to it. By the way. One is a Hybrid of the two songs Infinity and Monster. The separat Tracks are in the album too.
The members:
Taemin (Silver hair + starts the song) is my favourit. He can dance like no other and his voice is so good. He is in the business since 2008. Back then he was 14 years old. Teamin has a lot of great solo songs. If you check the members individually , look out for these songs : want, move, criminal, danger, drip drop, press your number, famous, 2kids. Taemin is in the group thats called shinee. They have also tons of really good songs. A lot of Kpop Idols look up to him, because of his dance skills and artistry.
The men with the high notes is baekhyun. He is from exo. Kai (the one who shows bis abs) is also from Exo. Exo has so many good songs like obsession, Call be baby, Love shot, Monster etc. Baekhyun has solo songs as well. Check out bis Song UnVillage and Candy.
Taeyong (who splits the ground) and Mark ( pink hair) are from NCT. Both are really good rappers. NCT has in generel many sub groups. So here a few suggestions for songs: superhuman, regular, 7th sense, Chain, punch, black on black and so much more.
Ten and Lucas are in WayV and NCTU. Ten ( dark hair and sings the high note with baekhyun in the bridge) is an amazing singer and dancer. Lucas ( has the last rap part) is also great. The whole group itself is loaded with great talents. Its hard to pick a favourit because all a so good.
Nevertheless Taemin is my bias, because his presence on a live stage is so dominant. Sexuality live is a must see and lot more, but I cant write them all down. His performance is always so good. The dancing combined with his style and singing is one hell of an artist. He is so unique.

I honestly think this is one of the best ways you could get into kpop: SuperM. Just with this one group you can get into 4 other groups and the fans (in my opinion) are most likely going to be some of the most welcoming people! (I say that because just being a supporter of SuperM we're all multifandom fans.) And from these groups you'll be able to explore different areas of kpop- vocal heavy, rap heavy, a mix, various genres, and of course discover more groups (from all companies).
I definitely recommend listening to Monster and Infinity separately, as One is a mix of the two songs edited together. And I see a lot of comments are informing you about the group and other groups the members are in, but I just wanted to say that I love SuperM! I absolutely love seeing these members together and interacting for more than just STATION songs, which I won't get into STATION but other kpop fans reading this will likely understand what I mean. EXO is my favorite group!! but I'm also really into SHINee, NCT, and WayV! (I have a preference for SM groups.) I see you also reacted to 100, so I'm about to watch that now :)

Just today, October 4, they celebrate their first year since Ellen DeGeneres' debut on the show.
SMEntertainment, a monster in the kpop industry, chose a group of elite singers, dancers, rappers and visuals from among several of its kpop groups with already solid foundations and ingrained in the Korean and international markets.

Kpop is kinda overwhelming nowadays because of so many groups who've just came out.. but you may start by digging from these members of SuperM because you won't get boring and disappointed. By doing so, you can at least look at a better perspective of Kpop and which type of concept and genre you might be interested in to stick around reacting into, because holy cow you'll be tired catching up with so many groups out there and might end up reacting to just please the fans which I personally wouldn't want to support that kind of reactor. Honest opinion in a polite way is much better.. that's for me.. so yeah..
Start randomly from:
SHINee or Taemin (he is the youngest member of SHINee and also a soloist, plus he is the most senior member of SuperM). You can start with Taemin solo since he has a lot of references to offer, maybe start with CRIMINAL or DANGER.
EXO - Kai and Baekhyun (Kai is the main dancer of EXO so it's interesting to watch their MVs, while Baekhyun is a soloist with a soulful vocal). You can start with their MV MONSTER, it's dope and the concept is crazy.
NCT 127 (Taeyong & Mark, both are main rappers) this group has so many lit MVs and dance practices to offer. They are 🔥. You can start with their MV SIMON SAYS or KICK IT.
WayV (Ten and Lucas) they are the Chinese subunit of NCT, but if you don't want to react to Cpop yet, this group also released some Korean versions of their MVs like BAD ALIVE and they have an English song which is really good, LOVE TALK.

Man, you asked for paragraphs, and you're gonna get em! lol Kpop fans are very passionate. The thing about this specific group, is that it consists of members of 3 other groups(though you could make the argument that it's 4 different groups, cuz one is a sub unit created for the Chinese market.) The thing that they all have in common is that they all belong to the same label or company, "SM Entertainment" out of South Korea. Basically, SM Ent. decided to take the most talented and popular members out of each group and put them together as a 'supergroup' to try and push into the Western(U.S./Canada/Europe/Great Britain) market, in response to the success of BTS in these markets. This is why a lot of their lyrics are in English(like 90% English, 10% Korean, roughly.) It's always exciting to see another person become a fan of the genre, and I hope you'll continue to check out more Korean artists. There's a LOT you've missed, haha...so, like I mentioned earlier, SuperM's managing company is SM Entertainment, they are one of the "Big 3" as they are known in Korea. I'll leave you some suggestions for some songs you can check out from the other two companies... check out "God's Menu" by Stray Kids from JYP Entertainment, and then go ahead and check out a brand new group from YG Entertainment named TREASURE, their song called "I Love You."(and if you'd like to check out a girl group, BLACKPINK is under YG Entertainment, too...and anything from them is good....and they're super cute, haha)
