This is Kai's first mini album and the title track is Mmmh. So, since you were wondering....He trained ballet and jazz since his childhood. When he got into SM Entertainment, he learned hip hop and much more...so now his dance specialities are way more large. He has his own way of dancing and its just unbelievably beautiful. Feel like his first language is dance and the way he is teeling you stories through his dance is getting you shooked and speechless. If you dig more into EXO you'll understand what I mean. I love people watching Kai for the first time haha. He's so good so I'm looking forward to your reaction to his Film. He's good at all styles because he started with jazz and ballet when he was 7 and then moved more into hip hop when he was around 12 and joined SM. He started the contemporary dance wave in 2014 when he choreographed and performed a short piece called Deep Breath on tour and at the major awards shows that year. Until then kpop was very much about popping locking etc. When people watch exo choreos I see them say a lot that they're fluid compared to other groups they've seen and I really think it's because Kai is their main dancer and center and he pretty much set the style for the rest of the group. I don't even think intentionally, but just because he was a much more advanced dancer than the others and they all copied his style when learning. I think Ooh La La La is a good EXO dance practice to watch if you want to see more. You'll be able to pick him out right away, but in terms of style I think it kind of encapsulates them. Their Obsession music video is very cool too.

If you liked this you should look into exo as well! That’s Kai’s original group and once you looked into them you’ll understand more about EXO’s story and how every group mv, vcr, solos and even sub-units connect to their story. Their songs falls into a more rnb style but they venture into any genre. Their dances are also amazing, they even have dance for ballads or slow songs and a dance solo for a acoustic song hahahaha. Their best dancers are Kai, Lay and Sehun(all has solos but Lay especially has a LOT) but all 9 members of EXO are excellent dancers and even better singers and performers!

From a dancer perspective, Kai has phenomenal dance technical skills and creativity at the same time he seems very down-to-earth, sweet and funny during interviews/reality shows. When I watch his flexibility and range of motion, movement coordination , body alignment and posture, and rhythm during dance practices, music mv and exo music mv , I can see Kai has had jazz and ballet training. His dance skills and vocal skills are inspirational.

Exo was debuted with their own storyline... that they are from exo planet (which actually existed in real world). They came on earth for fighting with red force. And queen mother was guiding them. And from then red force and exo were shown fighting in each of their comebacks. In wolf mv, their powers were out of control. And exo-k drama they were shown saving their queen. And in overdose they were into the maze settled by redforce and in lotto mv they were fighting redforce gaurds and finally lost to them, in lucky one redforce were experimenting on exo. In monster exo fight back with redforce and finally escaped. In kokobop they were hangoverd by the drugs used in redforce labs before escaping. In loveshot & tempo exo were busy in their daily live on the other hand redforce started creating exo clones. Which were shown in mv as glitch. And hands behind the walls. In obsession exo & x-exo came infront of each other and fought. Where exo lost to x-exo. In kai's mhmmm kai was captured in redforce cage and somehow escaped from there. And now wandering everywhere hiding from redforce. And in the last part of mv that teaser shows do and xuimin will be his last opportunity. So kai will have to find them now.

Kai has been dancing jazz, ballet since 8 years old and has been dancing contemporary & other styles for long years... contemporary performances were none existent in kpop until Kai had a contemporary solo stage during the MAMAs in 2014, 2 years after his debut in exo (before kpop idols and companies focused in Pop and Lock and hip hop), The stage got so much buzz in the general public (because he already demonstrated it since his debut in exo presentations and concerts) that the companies started looking into getting their idols to perform more contemporary pieces. Kai is the blueprint for so many things you see in kpop today, which is why they call him the idol of idols
the difference is that unlike other solo artists, he recently debuted as a soloist

It has choreo snippets for the rest of the songs on the album and Kai said it shows the story of him developing the concept for the album, going through hardships and growth, then finally presenting the finished product. It's really beautifully made ♥️
If you liked this you should look into exo as well! That’s Kai’s original group and once you looked into them you’ll understand more about EXO’s story and how every group mv, vcr, solos and even sub-units connect to their story.
Their songs falls into a more rnb style but they venture into any genre. Their dances are also amazing, they even have dance for ballads or slow songs and a dance solo for a acoustic song hahahaha. Their best dancers are Kai, Lay and Sehun(all has solos but Lay especially has a LOT) but all 9 members of EXO are excellent dancers and even better singers and performers!

Not much coming from someone who can't dance, but of all the practice videos I have seen, I can tell this dance is not easy, but they make it look effortless and they go so hard it just hypes me up and I constantly am going back to rewatch it.

From a dancer perspective, Kai has phenomenal dance technical skills and creativity at the same time he seems very down-to-earth, sweet and funny during interviews/reality shows. When I watch his flexibility and range of motion, movement coordination , body alignment and posture, and rhythm during dance practices, music mv and exo music mv , I can see Kai has had jazz and ballet training. His dance skills and vocal skills are inspirational.

Hi, awesome video with the gorgeous Kai, i accidently found him dancing in a video and caught my eye straight away. When he's with his band EXO, his super power is Teleportation, so he jumps to different places(planets etc...)
EXO has 2 main dancers KAI and LAY.. and both of them have 2 different styles .. but both of them are bests on their own styles.. Lay is more street dance and Kai is classical as he learnt ballet from childhood.. in EXO’s debut time Kai was bad in freestyle but he promised to himself that he will work with it and he did it.. so now he can dance in every style.. it doesn’t matter hip hop or contemporary )) I’m so proud of him as a dancer )) you can watch his performances with REASON or CONFESSION ))

Exo was debuted with their own storyline... that they are from exo planet (which actually existed in real world).
They came on earth for fighting with red force. And queen mother was guiding them. And from then red force and exo were shown fighting in each of their comebacks. In wolf mv, their powers were out of control. And exo-k drama they were shown saving their queen. And in overdose they were into the maze settled by redforce and in lotto mv they were fighting redforce gaurds and finally lost to them, in lucky one redforce were experimenting on exo. In monster exo fight back with redforce and finally escaped. In kokobop they were hangoverd by the drugs used in redforce labs before escaping. In loveshot & tempo exo were busy in their daily live on the other hand redforce started creating exo clones. Which were shown in mv as glitch. And hands behind the walls. In obsession exo & x-exo came infront of each other and fought. Where exo lost to x-exo. In kai's mhmmm kai was captured in redforce cage and somehow escaped from there. And now wandering everywhere hiding from redforce. And in the last part of mv that teaser shows do and xuimin will be his last opportunity. So kai will have to find them now.
And one thing i forgot to mention in kai's dance practice, you can still get the story line. Where in starting girl making postures around kai, showing redforce cage and in between two guys around him, probably do and xuimin reference
