Awwwww! Harrison Bay has come a long way since 1966/67, 5th/ 6th grade. Memories of pop-up camper camping those summers with my best friend’s family came flooding back. If memory serves me…….at that time there was a pool with a high dive in which I was talked into climbing up to jump off and getting a whistle blown at me because I was terrified to jump off.😂 There was an arcade/pavilion that had the best fountain cokes and my friend’s father fixing eggs over easy for breakfast and loving them. Also, memories of getting an ear infection and laying on the bench in the camper with a high fever, sweat pouring off of me, waiting for my parents to come pick me up. We lived in East Ridge but to my memory it was as if they were coming from California. 😩Sorry for the book, but that was a very good summer. We moved to Upper East Tennessee that next summer and my friend visited us a few times but we eventually lost contact. I made a trip back last fall to eat at Bea’s Restaurant but things are definitely not the same. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. 😁

I loved this! Our home office of our mission board is a few miles from Harrison Bay. We have been visiting there with our family while on furloughs for 40 years! I also went with y parents as a child. Thanks for sharing! We will be there in a few months and now I really want to make sure we spend a day at the park.

Enjoyed the journey. Nice to see you getting back to your roots and just enjoying the moments step-by-step. After decades of work, you deserve to slow down and smell the roses. Just keep putting 1 foot in front of the other right?! Retirement can be weird, especially in the first year. Friends say just rest, catch up on your sleep, get things in order (Declutter slowly…), And try to think about that list of things that you never had a chance to do when you were working. 😊 Remember your childhood and what gave you joy…whether it be walking in the woods, other. Seems like you really enjoy marinas …and they would be nice places for you to hang out at…

Thank you for sharing this video. It is almost identical to the Matthiessen State Park behind my city. It sits with Starve Rock Park, caverns, waterfalls, camping, fishing. But the best site, is to sit high as you can hike and watch the EAGLES soar. Correct! Gorgeous.

It's been nearly 15 years since I've been to / through Chattanooga. Thank you for the beautiful tour and reminder of just how peaceful and picturesque Tennessee is. Just a little heads up, though,...TWRA has confirmed several gator sightings over the last few years. They also said to expect the sightings to increase. Bobcats, GATORS, and Bears! OH MY!! LOL

Great video Tim. Loved the views, walk, and your insights. The boardwalk trail is so nice. Thanks for showing us how much you can do with what's "just in your pocket". It's still amazes me to think back to when when we didn't walk around with it glued to our hip, etc. Lol Simpler times, but I sometimes miss them too

I had to laugh. Before I watched this, I was getting ready to start uploading clips to make a video of an outing I had. And I realized I didn’t film one bit of it in landscape. 🤦♀️ So I appreciate the vote of confidence about being able to make videos with just what’s in my pocket. But the big variable is the camera operator. 😂
I’m not giving up, however. I’ll keep at it and learn new editing techniques. The budget won’t allow for fancy equipment or anything other than my iPhone XR but I’ll keep at it.

That’s beautiful park and if you decide to venture farther with camping , check out Jenny Wiley state park in Prestonsburg Kentucky. They have the lodge with wonderful entertainment and are known for their catfish buffet. Elk tours and lots of hiking trails that center around the lake there too. Maybe I am partial as I grew up there. lol! I hope your camping was safe and that it went well and look forward to video. Thanks for sharing❤
