- Yucatán, México is one of the best states in the country for travel. There's delicious cuisine, breathtaking cenote swimming holes, ancient Maya cities, laid-back beaches, flamingo watching, and so much more!
The Yucatan Peninsula is comprised of the Mexican states of Campeche, Yucatan, and Quintana Roo, as well as some portions of Belize and Guatemala. This video is about the state specifically, as a video on the whole peninsula would take a lot longer. After spending months living in and traveling around Yucatan, here are 7 places/things you should not miss when planning your trip to this paradise in Mexico!

Thanks for watching, amigos! :)
Quick note: the Cenote at 12:15 is actually called "Cenote Tza-Ujun-Kat", my brain kind of spazzed on that one! :) Saludos!
This made me really miss Mexico! That Volkswagen Beetle accommodation sounds amazing.
Love your videos. Keep up the great work. We are visiting the Yucatan again later this year and plan to visit some of the cenotes this go round.😎
Thank you! That’s awesome. It’s definitely on my travel list this year too. Enjoy!!
I hope to visit Merida and Campeche soon. I really enjoyed my stay in Valladolid. Looking forward to more of your travel videos.
I love this video. We have a home being built in the Yucatán and I can’t wait to get down there to experience more of the cenotes and Pueblo Magicos. We have been to several of the sites you highlighted, it makes me want to go back sooner than later. ❤️❤️
went to a small town about 27 km from merida called tixkokob and went to a restaurant called pueblito Puebil it was incredible. Both food and place and people fantastic.
I planned the Yucatan for this winter, but health problems kept me from following thru.
Thanks for posting.
I followed thru once or twice in Mexico, those tacos can be spicy
I’m really sorry to hear it. Hope things improve ASAP. Cheers, friend!
@@laurenandseth we toured Chiapas, Veracruz, and CDMX first. Last year was Puebla and surrounding Puebla's, Oaxaca then the beach cities huatulco, zipolite and Puerto Escondido then CDMX.
This winter was to be the Yucatan but my wife is having mobility issues.
I guess I wore her out...
Hi Hoz! Prayers for your health to improve quickly, and that you'll still be able to take that trip to enjoy the beautiful Yucatan very soon! 🙏
marvelous video!
LOVE Valladolid and can't wait to get back! Great video!
Thank you! I can’t wait to go back either 😊
Loved my time in the Yucatan!
I’m glad you did, knew you would 😊
Hi Lauren and Seth. I returned to watch when I saw Yucatan, are you back in the area again? Good video with a lot of accurate information, well done - Anne
Great video! I fell in love with Merida & the Yucatan state in 2018 and we go every chance we can! While we're home in Texas, I watch all the travel vlogs I can find 😂. I also would love to visit Campeche and the Calakmul ruins one day, but I think the Yucatan will always be my favorite place on earth as well!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot! I haven’t been to Calakmul yet either, can’t wait to check it out.
Haha, I can relate on watching the travel vlogs. I’m either traveling or living vicariously through someone who is 😂 Cheers!
Im from California and I just went to Yucatán for the first time 2 weeks ago. It was amazing i loved it and its where my grandpa was born and raised so it was really special for me to go there to learn more about my maya yucateco roots! Cant wait to go back i was only there for 1 week so theres so much i didnt get to see but i stayed in Mérida, I went to Chichén Itzá, Dzibilchaltún, Progreso, El Corchito, Valladolid, el cenote Saamal, el cenote in the Costco parking lot lol, El Gran Museo Maya,....the food was amazing! I loved it and i cant wait to go back!
Great video....was there in July.....very humid, but still beautiful!
Oh yeah that heat is something 😬 Glad you enjoyed it!!
The food is great in the Yucatan ❤
Oh yeah!!
Great video guys thanks for sharing 😀 still gotta hit up Valladolid before we move on
Oh yeah, it’s a cool spot! Appreciate it amigos, enjoy!
I have been searching Mexico for a couple of years. I believe that both of you did a great job for me. You chose to tell this story like men. You told your facts after facts after facts. Nearly No fluff included. I really like this.
I liked, and have now commented. I hope you continue this format, unless you're telling a story.
Fantastic 👌
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful tour, you will definitely have an interesting experience after this trip! 💯😊
Hey guys!! Really cool video. Well done. I will spend 16 days around Tulum in the middle of January. Definitely I have to add Izamal to my itinerary. Congrats!
Awesome, hope you’re enjoying it down there if you’re still there!
Nice info! The two of you have been traveling a similar journey as we have! You were in Granda and other parts of NIcaragua at the same time we were, and we JUST released a video on some of the same area of Yucatan! Anyway -best of luck and we hope to cross paths sometime! We are in Playa del Carmen now and will be somewhere on this peninsula for at least a month or two more.
Muy de acuerdo(totally agree)! Ek Balam is fantastic. If you're staying in Valladolid and have time for only one, chose Ek Balam over Chichén Itzá. That said, the latter is really incredible, just arrive as early as possible to beat the crowds. Will be there in a few weeks! Izamal is definitely worth a visit. I stayed at an airbnb right across the street from Kinich Kakmó, the Mayan pyramid on the edge of town. Great also is the Centro Cultural y Artesanal(and it has AC!).
Good job . Suggest trying Uxmal and Mayapan ruins outside Mérida
Yes, Uxmal is amazing!!!
maate~ bonjour.Thank you.gorgeous shots, talk you later,
Thank you! Cheers.
Hello... Just four you to know the H for Homún sounds like the H in Horse. Or the sound of a J in Spanish and mun sounds exactly like Moon... Ho-moon
Makes sense. Gracias! 😊
Great video! What camera do you use?
Thank you! We use the Sony ZV1, Canon M50, and then some smaller cameras like Insta360 and DJI Osmo. But honestly the main one we use now is the ZV1 and could really do without the rest.
Where the heck have you guys been!
I really didn't like Valladolid, I found it very cheesy and touristy and a bit of a rip off, I really enjoyed a month in Merida despite being a bit of an American retirement place, lovely city but a month was enough, really lovely people in Merida and very different to opportunistic Valladolid, great job with the video, exactly a year ago I was there, great memories!
Fair enough, amigo! It's good to get your perspective. Glad you enjoyed your time in Mérida though. It's crazy it's already been a year. Any big upcoming travel plans?
@@laurenandseth yes currently at the end of a 5 month trip in Asia (familiar territory), Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, back to Europe soon, look forward to following your travels, Mexico was also a great experience, Mexico city my favourite and I wouldn't rule out a future visit, all the best
Are y'all back in Mexico?
Not at this moment unfortunately
Where are you at in the world, still traveling?
@Ganza Media yes, still traveling. I came back for the holidays to spend with my daughter. I'm heading to Colombia on Sunday. I was in Thailand for 2 months and will probably be going back in March. Y'all still traveling?
How is the no smoking ban working out? Think I’ll head somewhere else.
Naah, I i lived there for 20 years , all looks awesome , but that is the tourist side , the real side is the south of Merida , where the working class lives , stop out pricing the locals when you go live there , earn in Pesos you’ll see is not as fun as they say .
