    Great job! Awesome footage! Its so funny hoe everyone has their own experience. We live in Quintana Roo part of the year....and I would have totally numbered these places differently! But I still love them all. Our favorite ruins are Coba for sure. Our number one is Cozumel, but we are divers. Holbox def takes the cake for the best thing we have eaten on the entire Peninsula. Go to Mandarinas and have the Huatiloche Brioche'....thank me later. (it will change your LIFE). Also Roots for the best Pizza. BTW....its pronounced Quintana Roo*, as in Roh, or Row. Nice video! Yucatan is on my bucket list. A quick question-I dont speak Spanish, would it be easy to travel around? What is best way to get around by public transport?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  2 роки тому +5

      It’s possible but not the easiest! Knowing Spanish makes it easier as many people don’t speak English. However, you could always download the offline google translate and that would help 😄 the more touristic places have more English speakers of course. The best way to get between places is by tourist bus, the ADO! It drives all across the Yucatan and is very easy and safe! 😄

That way, you get a mix of everything (cenotes, beaches, ruins, and culture). this video talks about the Yucatan PENINSULA not the Yucatan STATE. The Pensinsula does encompass 3 different Mexican States: Yucatán, Quintana Roo and Campeche. All places mentioned here are within those states.

    Great vid! I'm going to this region for the first time this December. I had Merida in my list but after watching this I'm debating replacing it with Isla Holbox, which wasn't on my list haha.
    Also, do some cenotes enforce life jackets? Or did you guys just choose to wear it for the cenote you filmed near Valladolid?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  2 роки тому

      Haha that’s awesome! Merida is a great city too. But you can easily explore it in a day or two. And yes some cenotes do enforce the life jackets unfortunately… but the best ones are near Valladolid and Merida and there’s a number there that don’t require it!

    This was awesome! TY for the info! Did you need to buy tickets to Chichen Itza or any other of the mayan ruins in advance? I think I am gonna book a trip out to Valladolid for a few weeks but I kinda just want to take it in stride, I don't want to do too much planning. Should I look into booking tickets to any of the ancient sites?

    Sweet, cool video. They seem to be pretty hardcore on face masks though... even out in huge outdoor areas, is it mandatory everywhere outside in Quintana Roo or even Mexico?

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  2 роки тому

      When we were there, facemasks were advised, especially at the archeological sites and cities where there were lots of people around. We were there back in March / April when things were a bit more strict though. When we were outdoors and there was not many people, then it was not necessary to wear it

      @@worldwildhearts Thank you! I'm trying to find out if they allow exceptions. My wife, I and our two kids are planning on going in two weeks (moslty inspired by your videos). She get's a severe rash by wearing those things though... here in the netherlands she has an excemption form, I'm guessing in the hot humid climate over there it will only be worse. Can't find any info on it though.

    • @worldwildhearts

      It is legal to fly as a tourist. We didn't have any troubles in Cancun airport ourselves. We have a DJI Mini 2 drone which folds up so it's easy to transport as a carry-on. Here are the latest drone rules about Mexico overall: uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-mexico/

    I'm planning on going to tulum and then Merida! How was the budget for you guys? I'm looking for the prices to enter the cenotes but I cannot find it anywhere

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Рік тому

      Thanks! Tulum has gotten super expensive in the last years (especially after Covid. prices for cenotes have doubled in the area around Tulum, but it’s still affordable compared to Europe and North America. Expect to pay 20€ per person to enter popular cenotes! You probably can’t find any prices online because it has changed like 5 times over the year 🥲. Merida, on the other hand, is very affordable… accommodation, food, everything is cheaper here than Tulum. There are also some cool cenotes nearby Merida, less popular but cheaper. I’d say you can easily get by 50€ per day in Merida (including accommodation), but it would be harder in Tulum. Also really depends on the season you’re travelling!

    Something to mention is that every time someone put a church in a video as an attraction is just very painful for many Mexicans, as you know the church have and still doing so much harmful ugly things to my people and Spain used the church to enslave my ancestors, so please be aware and respect.
