I just grabbed a bottle of this at a liquor mountain store here in Gifu-shi, Japan where I live for 6600¥ , which at today's conversion rate makes it $47.84. I knew it when I saw it that it good price before I even checked online how much it goes for. Not only resale market in the US but even here in Japan. Scored a good one today. Didn't even crack it open yet and you guys have already convinced me it is going to be awesome..lol
Sipping this now. It hits me like a dusty note on the nose and front pallet. (Dare I say dusty beam note) It’s crazy. Up front and nose. I do get the candied grape on the leave.
The problem with tasting the highest end of an expression is that it is tough to return to the baseline version. It is like taking 1rst class on an international flight and then using economy on your next flight.
If you live near the border, you can actually just drive across, turn around, and hit the duty free shop heading back into the US. I used to do that all the time between Detroit and Ontario.
Off topic suggestion. How to go about shipping bottles back home to yourself while out traveling. How to pack? Any special steps to mail/ship? Don’t know if it is a good topic but I’ll be traveling soon and so I’m being selfish. Keep up the good videos! Thanks!
I cant remeber if yall watch/ read comments this far back. BUT Fyi for yall, ferry duty frees to canada has exlcusives as well. Ive seen these but i do know for sure in my area from Port angeles WA to Victoria BC ferry trips! they sell the rare breed ncf for sure. And its cheeper if youre a walk on in comparison to airfare!
Turkey 101 from 10 years ago tastes so much better. I have 17 bottles that I would only open on special occasions. The ones we have now got this salty taste and not as smooth.
What Sean with the Spoiler... i'm in shock..... I was able to get a back up of Father & Son, I've yet to find a back up of this 12 yr or the 101 8 Year.... I can't get the Single Russles or Russ 13 but this 12yr might be my fav. I like it more than some of the MasterKeeps.
Either that's not for every airport or a new thing as that has not been my experience traveling from Aruba back to the sates. I can't remember if Barcelona or London also didn't do that. Be interested to learn more though as I'll be going to Ireland and Germany later this year.
@Jason Heffernan I think it depends if you go through customs at that airport. For example ireland has US customs over there. When I got a bottle there I was able to just put in my carryon because I cleared US customs there.
It's not really available in any stores here in Australia. Some online importers have it for like 500$, if anyone else knows of a place in Aus that has this please let me know
It was Available for a short time in Australian stores with a RRP of $125 AUS (about $90 USD) but the stock that arrived was way under what was expected and demand was massive for it. Stores that got it mostly vastly inflated the price. Is talk however that it may be an annual release in Australia (I believe it is going to be a regular for Japan) and that hopefully more stock arrives in Australia next time it hits the shelves.
Just to be clear, not available in any airports anywhere. You have to actually leave the airport and go to a liquor store in Korea, Japan, or Australia.
Bros’s. I was admiring all those Blue Runs behind you. I’ve started noting a lot of Blue Run on the shelves in my area. And I have no idea which ons to buy. . . Suggestions?? Comparison video??
These were starting at almost 400 when they first imported and are down to 200 in Indiana. I picked one up at 200 and it is a very special bottle. I got one of the Japanese 8 year 101s and thought it was good but the 12 blows it out of the water.
I don't wanna rain on people's parade here, but why did I pay $200 for a bottle of Wild Turkey 12-Year-Old, that I got from a very reputable local store?! OK, so there's an age statement, I see that. But others must've gotten some special juice because mine was so unbelievably underwhelming. If you're going to charge $200 retail, at least put juice from a higher-quality barrel into the bottle. Mine was so pedestrian. There are soooo many bottles of Bourbon and Whiskey out there at a fraction of the cost (including other Wild Turkey (Rare Breed, Russell's Reserve, etc..) hat I would absolutely NOT recommend this bottle!!!
Hey guys, I have a friend traveling to Japan in a few weeks. He wants to get this for me. Where can he find it? Is it at Duty Free? Or at liquor stores? Thanks
Y’all’s secondary values are a bit off. I’m seeing the Single Rick for $350 per and the WT101/12 for $185 per (for a pair). I have called the WT101/12 the secondary deal of the year. I can’t stop loving it.
This stuff is like turkey made a remus repeal reserve. I traded a staggy j for one and it was one of the best trades ive made. It has one of the best noses ive smelled.
By the way don't try shenanigans where you book an international flight just to get airside to buy duty free items then decline to board flight. Easy way to get on some watchlists.
Depends what 250 is worth to you. For me personally I'd probably pass, 175 I would to have one. Can try and haggle with them and see if they would come down any
Just got two bottles in Japan, $56 a piece. Also got a WT 13 yr Father and Son and Blanton's Takara Red.
In Japan duty free?
Have one 12 yr open and very happy I have another bunkered. Delicious bottle!!

This is a fantastic bottle I was lucky enough to get a sample. I wish they released this widely in the US
When you've had to much turkey and you forget to finish the warp stabilizer. Love the review guys.
Bought 2 bottles because of many spectacular reviews! Definitely my favourite WT now...
I agree totally on the WT12 ❤
Got a bottle while in Vietnam just before you released your top 10 and now wish I had bought 2 or 3!
Thanks for the review fellas! I’m gonna hunt for this when I head to Japan next month. I saw it’s only 7000 yen ($48 USD conversion !!!!!).
Sure wish this was a US release. Love some WT101
I love this one! 😊

this applies to everything in life... but you aren't wrong.
Great review guys thank you.
These are now down to like $170-$180. Got one shipped for less than $200 OTD, it’s fantastic
I miss that old Turkey label.
My dumbass actually tried to "click" analyze 😂
Happy to see a video on this bottle! Great review guys, I ordered from Shared Pour and am very excited to be able to try it out!
If you live near the border, you can actually just drive across, turn around, and hit the duty free shop heading back into the US. I used to do that all the time between Detroit and Ontario.
Yea we could do that too, it's just a hell of a drive for us of nothing is there
@@BourbonJunkies hang out in Detroit for a night or two; take in a show, get a (m)otel room....
Next time I am in Detroit I might try to do that. Is there any way to find out if this can be found there though?

Mostly we take extra suitcases, wine shippers, and a pump. Just toss a few and check them
I'm in a step challenge, too! You really look good for being over 50!🤣
Buffalo Trace nose note is spot on
And that....Shared Pour....is where I got mine....
absolutely incredible pour
WT 101 12yr is amazeballs
For about $48 equivalent in Japan, it's a tasty pour and the presentation is 10/10. Kanpai.
Exchange rate makes it an amazing deal. Got mine in Ryogoku (right next to Popeye!).

You guys need a standard grading system so we can reference. You could build a model that responds to price fluctuations.
Wt101 was my daily but bulliet rye has taken its place.
Anyone know what airport/duty free these can be found at?! I’m about to book a flight tomorrow with all these stellar reviews coming out.
Btw, I just saw the Rickhouse for $700 here in MA. Smh 🤦🏻♂️
I have two of these and one of the father/son from Japan 👀

Got it in Taiwan. 400 bottles limited for the country per year. $52usd yes!
@BourbonJunkies If you had to choose between NCF Rare Breed or 12yr?
Curious how it compares to the RR13 releases.
Check out my review on it I compare it to RR13 batch 3

Anyone know what the teal labeled bottle on the lower shelf is behind them is? ;)
You have to get on the plane for duty free. They bring a sealed bag to the gate with the bottle. That way they are sure you are on the plane.

Any good reason this can’t be offered stateside? It doesn’t really crowd out any of their other products.
Having international parent companies these things just work out that way
9:32 with no context. Pretty messed up.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this comment I had no idea and laughed hard because of the link.
@@BourbonJunkies that’s awesome. Glad I could provide a laugh haha!
I hope something is still available when I fly international in April.

How do you have the old label 101? They switch back?
Knobb Creek 12 vs. WT 12 ? Cheers

…you could always take a drive to Windsor and back…
Is it just me or are the "Blue Runs" on that center shelf multiplying?
So random stops in Kentucky, or certain places you’d target? What would it go for, $200 or so?
150ish at Neat but idk if it's gone now or not
@@BourbonJunkies hate to be a bother, but what or where is Neat? Thx

The piece of information for which I've been searching that is curiously left out of every review.

I just paid $45 in Tokyo for a bottle tax free. It is delicious.
I can get this pretty easily in Korea.
$30 for a pour?? What Michigan bars are you going to? I can get Pappy 15 for $30 and other BTAC in Illinois.
I think the glory days of turkey had an entry proof of 107.

Waiting on a sample of this so we can crack the father son 🥃

60 USD in Japan. Easy to find.
Anyone purchase at Neat in Kentucky? How much?
I heard 150-175 range and I'd buy at that price personally.

Just a heads up that this is not a travel exclusive (as in sold at airports), it's an export bottle.
By the way don't try shenanigans where you book an international flight just to get airside to buy duty free items then decline to board flight. Easy way to get on some watchlists.
Good to know
I want to get this so bad.
I drink a bottle of WT 101 a week.
Don’t think this is travel retail exclusive. Think Japan only.
Please stop saying WT101 is any good. It's young, it tastes young, and it deserves to be $20.
Idk how many bars I've been to and WT101 is just a nice $4-5 pour and they have almost nothing else. I'll buy it all the time

No comparison at all, the twelve yr is LEAGUES better than the standard 6yr 101 . It's not even same ballpark.
