Got one on closeout at Fleet Farm for $79.00 and love it. People you've got to remember. These multi-tools weren't designed to build a house or overhaul an engine. They were designed to save you a trip to the tool box/shed or get you out of a rare jam in a remote location. I just don't require so much out of it that I need to overhaul the tool itself.
Something I did to my P2.... reduced the locking levers. I ground them down quite a bit so they don’t dig into my hand. Makes the tool much more comfortable to use and didn’t effect my ability too put the tools away at all.
I agree on making the tool yours. I got myself and ARC and it does everything I need for work. And having the bit kit is great since I use many different ones there. The things I never will use is the can opener, saw, and awl. I want something of better function for me in place of those. The scissors are kinda useless for heavy work. But I find them great for a couple tasks like when I crimp an ethernet cable. The scissors are amazing for trimming the insulation sheath as well as the wire to length since the wire is so small. I use the knife to strip and scissors to clean up. Every other tool I have either used already or can think of uses. To me it is the best tool for my use as is. My saying would be cut, grind, destroy until it is perfect!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Ari Ryder i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hello. Good video, thanks for all your work. In my opinion i'd turn the can opener into a small flat screwdriver (by grinding the round part), and would modified the flat-awl into a true awl with a real sharp point.
Great Free P mod review one of the best I’ve seen. I’m definitely gonna be doing some of these mods with my P4. The Phillips and “can opener”/bowl carver sold me you got my subscription bud. Good Job 👍🏻
Another MOD is to the serrated blade 4and saw. Make the serrated blade a tanto point, grind down the rounded tip on top. Second the saw make have a pointed end and 45° the front edge for a dry wall saw.
I have the free p4 and that attachment so I'm going to implement your mod to the Philips and some of your other mods. You think like I do. I like your fit and finish, I work the same way. A Lot of you tubers don't have the concept of fit and finish. Anyway great vid !!
Thank you for solving my problem with the p4. this might be a stupid question but just wondering can that adapter on that bit kit work with Leathermans bits?
On my wave I used the scissors pretty much exclusively to cut my fingernails, Nice video! Does the bottle opener still work after the Phillips modification?
I have a little bit of trouble getting to my pliers one handed. I always feel like there's something wrong or that I'm about to break the tool. How can I fix that, cause the pinch doesn't seem to work.
Great video and actually helped me to ensure I won't regret getting the P2. One question I have re the philips driver mod, are you still able to open bottle caps properly with the mod done due to the belly being removed?
I have owned and carried the Leatherman P2 for over a year now and generally like it for my daily, around the house tasks. In fact, my biggest complaint is the combination blade. I was looking for the plain edge blade from the P4 on eBay and was somewhat dismayed at the premium those are bringing. Apparently I'm not the only one who doesn't like the combo blade! Anyways, I saw the blade from a Leatherman T2 on there for a much more palatable price and wondered about compatibility? The specs on leatherman's website indicate that the T2 blade is about a half inch shorter than the P4 blade. That might be a sacrifice I'm willing to make as long as it drops in without any sort of profile modifications needed. Anyone know if that would work?
Have you tried it? I personally would like to get a P2 and exchange the combination blade for a T2 blade aswell as replacing one of the other parts for a saw.
@@the.reel.mccoy. Yes I did and I don't regret it at all. Functions perfectly with the new blade. I think you'd have to sacrifice the scissors if you were adding a saw. I don't think it would fit anywhere else on the P2
@@jon27d That's perfect for me, I use the blade to trim nails anyhow. I have no use for the scissors essentially. Therefore, I think it would be fair to assume that the P2 might actually be a better option for me, and be a bunch cheaper. I'll give it a shot and let ya know how the saw goes.
@@maxlvledc This would not be for carry-on purposes as this stuff is expected to go in your checked luggage unless you’re referring to TSA stealing property from checked luggage. A knife-less Free P2 would be to carry on your person while abroad in an attempt to abide by local laws. Carrying fancy pliers shouldn’t be a problem.

Good idea, I'll do that when I go to take it apart
Lovely idea with the philips screw driver

So many great ideas here, very impressive. Guess i'll have to grab one of those Leatherman Blast bit kits now.

@Cason Ryder Instablaster :)

Thanks so much you saved my account!
@Cason Ryder you are welcome xD
Hello. Good video, thanks for all your work. In my opinion i'd turn the can opener into a small flat screwdriver (by grinding the round part), and would modified the flat-awl into a true awl with a real sharp point.
Did it works well?

Did the serrated one... probably will do the same as well

Thank you, very kind 🙏
Where can I buy the wallet? I need that
Hey just want to let you know I gave a shout out to your channel in my video, since I talked about this free series mod Idea that you shared.
cheers! thanks.
Nice work my friend.
Going to make a new vid, updated toolsets further
Thank you for solving my problem with the p4. this might be a stupid question but just wondering can that adapter on that bit kit work with Leathermans bits?
Bro please work for Leatherman!! These are great ideas!
Lol, imo sadly Leatherman has an overwhelming # of issues they need to tackle that go way past design
I like your thinking a lot! Great video 🙂👌
it would be great to show a video of you grinding the stuff
I might do that, since I haven't fully modded my p2 yet
How wide did you make the Philips tool before you beveled the sides ??
Thanks
James USMC 🇺🇸
There is a bulge coming out of the bottom, I made the two sides parallel with a thickness identical to the area closest to the head
On my wave I used the scissors pretty much exclusively to cut my fingernails, Nice video!
Does the bottle opener still work after the Phillips modification?
Can’t you move your tools around when using ZapWizards inserts? So you can keep what you want
For the most part yes.
Very good I did the same mods to my Phillip's driver. Why dont you put the bit exchanger on the other side and you can make your own changeable tools
The file/ awl are actually valuable imo, but yes..I could see doing that
Where do I get the modded Philips head bit holder?
I have a little bit of trouble getting to my pliers one handed. I always feel like there's something wrong or that I'm about to break the tool. How can I fix that, cause the pinch doesn't seem to work.
without seeing it, would be very hard to help you on this one..don't worry though, you wont break your tool.
Great video and actually helped me to ensure I won't regret getting the P2. One question I have re the philips driver mod, are you still able to open bottle caps properly with the mod done due to the belly being removed?
Yep, 100% you can

What tools would you replace the knives with as a travel abroad EDC?
Regardless TSA will take it...trust me.

I have a question, Can I replace the ruler on P2 by package opener on Wingman?
nope sorry, completely different everything.
Can you please make a dedicated video on the Philips head mod please.
How did you do the mods? Belt sander, file, stone, etc. please advise what was done on each. Thanks
I used the Ken onion Blade grinder from Worksharp almost exclusively use code maxlvlEDC21 for 15% off their website
Why cant I change the file side into the bit holder?
You could...if they made one.
What tools do you use to grind down and modify the tools?
Dremel and the Ken Onion blade grinder.
👍
Can we send ours to you to modify?
It's not exactly a service I can offer...but teaching it...that I can do.
great mods!
Thanks!
Can I just send you my P4 to mod? Lol
