    They're all great and any one of them could serve as your go-to delay. That said the DIG on 12bit with modulation is my favorite delay sound. The El Cap is also great.

    Great playing
    I have The Strymon DIG and have owned the el capistan, also have owned the Strymon timeline, but my favourit delay that i have 2 of on 2 different pedal boards is the Strymon Volante it's an awesome Pedal and has a nice sounding Reverb as well imo ❤ 🎸

    Hello,
    great video!!!
    as a purchase to be placed side by side with my strymon iridium, as the first delay pedal, which one would you recommend and why?
    as a style I like to range from rock to pop to blues .. Thank you so much !!

    Hi Jack, great informative video. What did you use to get the stereo spread on the mix, was it simply the pedals although I only see one mic in the background or was it added in post? Thanks.

    Hey jack, quick question- when demoing these different sounds, do you have a rough idea of what your going to play, or are you totally improvising on the fly? Gotta say I love you playing man, you play some wicked chord progressions and your phrasing is top notch. Pleasure to listen to bud, really inspiring 👍

    Such a great video! Thanks.
    For a Gilmour-esque tone would I look to the Volante? The El Capistan? Something else?
    If anyone is aware of any such thing, I would also love to find a list of a few example artists/bands that are associated with each of these types of delays. Thanks!

      well, I have the Volante, and it is the best tape-related delay pedal today. I love Gilmour, his style is the most influential to me. And the Volante can do it very well. But maybe you should look at Boonar by Dwaner Prince, some say that it simulates the drum delay better.

    I have a TimeLine and I would love to coax the varied delays heard from the 'lesser' pedals out of it! It's a complex beast!

    • @metricdeep8856
      @metricdeep8856 3 роки тому +1

      Coll Michaels .....I don’t expect that they are “lesser” pedals. A multi tool is never as good as a dedicated tool.

    • @pCeLobster
      @pCeLobster 2 роки тому +1

      @@metricdeep8856 This is correct. The small box Strymons are each better at their specific thing than the Timeline. The Timeline is more for versatility and presets.

    For all intents and practical purposes I would have to say the brigadier or el capistan are an excellent choice for getting usable delays sounds in the project studio apart from the timeline. That said my bucket list is on fire because I know I won’t be happy until I obtain a brigadier and a flint to round out my pedal board build. I just hope it will go well with my riverside drive into a soul food front end. Someone let me know if that may bite. Thank you jack for services rendered, your reviews make much better sense than most.

      @@drew1841 No I haven’t acquired a Flint yet but now I’m getting by with my current line up and a Boss CE2. The Brigadier is truly a dream delay for me it just does what I expect quickly.

    Nice summary of the Strymon delay pedals. However, in reviewing the Brigadier, you might just have mentioned one of its most obvious advantages over its rivals - its maximum delay time is a whopping 5 seconds!

      And it’s only available in one of the 3 modes. Strymon should have made the full delay time available in all modes, but they wanted to stay true to the design flaws of the originals.

    Worth pointing out a few things
    The dig can be warmed up considerably with the second function. It is my favourite
    These things really come alive when used in stereo. In particular the volante is in another world
    And I think you miss the deco. Which does other things but offers a fine delay as well
