This song is such a powerful song especially when listening to it on guitar. I showed my parents this song and they both said right away “Such a unique voice!”. You can instantly feel this mans story and background just from the melody
I always share his songs to my Facebook but this album "whispers" definitely been my favourite! He has helped make my day better without even realising :) x
I think this is pretty damn cool given that this guy has a #1 song in many countries around the world. Very very cool for the people who witnessed this!
absolutley fantastic... i heard this song in the movie "Hin und weg" at first. I was immediately inspired!! Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Germany ;-)
A rolling stone gathers no moss. A rolling stone gathers no moss is an old proverb, credited to Publilius Syrus, who in his Sententiae states, People who are always moving, with no roots in one place, avoid responsibilities and cares. As such, the proverb is often interpreted as referring to figurative nomads who avoid taking on responsibilities or cultivating or advancing their own knowledge, experience, or culture. Another interpretation equates "moss" to "stagnation"; as such the proverb can also refer to those who keep moving as never lacking for fresh ideas or creativity.
Sometimes I feel I’m going nowhere Sometimes I’m sure I never will She said it’s cause I’m always moving I never notice cause I never stand still Sometimes I feel like I’m falling Falling fast and falling free She says my darling you’re not falling It always looked like you were flying to me But I fear I’ve grown a rolling stone inside of me She said oh don’t you know that rolling stones stop at the sea And that’s where I’ll be Sometimes I’m sure I know no one A thousand faces but no names She said my love you do know someone Oh and I know you back just the same But I’m scared I said, what if this stone don’t slow down Just be aware she said, what goes up will come down and when you do I’ll be around Oh when I’ve dragged this rolling stone across this land I’ll make sure I leave this stone in her hands For we both know too well, rolling stones turn in to sand if they don’t find a place to stand
Underground906....normally I'd agree with your statement regarding this 'generation" of singer/songwriters; however, I think this artist's distinct voice sets him apart from the pack. Back in my day, people also criticized the distinct voices of Cat Stevens, David Gates, and Dan Fogelberg, and said they too were just about style with no substance to their music or voices. Hmm, I guess they had something worth listening too after all, as they still get a lot of well-deserved air play almost 50 years later.
@Underground906 lol I like how you make it so people can't reply to your hateful comment, I would like to point out that Mike's"quick fame" has taken quite a few years and a shit load of traveling and busking, but your 5 second comment clearly takes into consideration all of his hard work and commitment and leads me to believe you have been doing the same thing but even more so and for much longer (that was sarcasm) also I would like to see your list of artists that have "this sound" please do share...
The amplifier is a really good one, it's an AER. They're really expensive but probably the best busking amp around. I've busked with one quite a few times and it is really good quality. It's both the amp and the recording camera that is probably a really good one too :) I play quite a few Passenger covers when I play live, just in case you're interested :) facebook.com/BenRobinson01
A man who's music will be remembered. A true legend in the making.
One more reason why UA-cam is so great. The guy is in perfect voice, even better than his recording.
Man Rolling Stone is one of my fav's, it's so good.

This is inspiring Passenger - and your music is constantly played in my house
I love everything about it. His voice is so soft but at the some time strong. He picks that guitar beautifully.
The finger picking style is so good and his voice is so soothing what a great song

Sometimes I feel I’m going nowhere

She said it’s cause I’m always moving
I never notice cause I never stand still
Sometimes I feel like I’m falling
Falling fast and falling free
She says my darling you’re not falling
It always looked like you were flying to me
But I fear I’ve grown a rolling stone inside of me
She said oh don’t you know
that rolling stones stop at the sea
And that’s where I’ll be
Sometimes I’m sure I know no one
A thousand faces but no names
She said my love you do know someone
Oh and I know you back just the same
But I’m scared I said, what if this stone don’t slow down
Just be aware she said, what goes up will come down
and when you do I’ll be around
Oh when I’ve dragged this rolling stone across this land
I’ll make sure I leave this stone in her hands
For we both know too well, rolling stones turn in to sand
if they don’t find a place to stand
Sublime
great song!

And the crowd remained subjugated as it was a magical moment !
Can anyone help me to know how this video has good audio quality? I see a mic in front of amplifer. What kind of mike is that. Please someone help me.

Dear mrs.believeinme
sounds like Brett Dennen
SAM SMITH brought me here :)
This guy is better than Ed Sheeran, but doesn’t get the accolades because Ed is more popular, but I like Mike’s music better!
