My 94 year old aunt keeps getting calls from scammers pretending to be Amazon. She has never had a computer and the only Amazon she is aware of is a rainforest.
Same for my 90yo Mum. Hilariously she also gets calls threatening to " cancel her Internet" She tells them " I don't have nets, I have blinds" (nets were lace curtains popular when Ma was a girl, she's mighty proud to have blinds and be up to date🤗)

We need help from these remote access companies with a warning on the installation prompt saying that no reputable company would need access to your computer. This shit shouldn't be so easy for them to do yet here we are. Seems like it should be easy to stomp out or at least limit.

You should redeem all 3 of them and let them try to redeem the 4th one. Since its fake it wont work and you can try to redeem it yourself but before clicking to redeem you can say "oh i accidentally put a wrong number in there", then correct it and redeem the 4th card for the grand finale. Play with their emotions more

In India some prisons have call centres because its a very good paying job and all you need is a cheap computer and a phone
Someone is saying on another comment that call centers keep dogs because they know thieves think the centers will not call the police, so they are frequently targets of theft. So, dogs better than police.

Kit, I think it is great that you explain the scam for any newbies as this is the ultimate goal, to protect the vulnerable. Us oldies are happy to listen as you explain to the newbies as it means your good work is protecting these newcomers.... I worked as a manager at the Dollar General in my town and myself and my coworkers constantly got calls from people asking us to "check" our pre-paid cards by scanning a card to see if they worked. They'd pretend to be from corporate. They even had company passwords!! It's scary how manipulating they can be.
