@@delete9090 "Sadly, they're just working under the big bossess, they probably do it to provide for their family/ survive. Hard to land other jobs😢 the real greed at the higher ups" That's been shown to be false. The hacked data showing scammers identities and profiles shows they DON'T fit the profile of poor people trying to feed their families. They're often young punks wanting to live large by stealing from people. The profile of family people who stay with their families and are trying to provide for them, again DOES NOT fit someone who systematically is committed to making calls all day trying to steal everything someone has, and swear at everyone who doesn't go along. They wouldn't even think of doing any real work during the day, because they sleep then and try to steal all night. They work in call centers because the Indian police will press charges if they are caught trying to scam individually and not paying them off. They have to enforce a system that discourages people from doing this, without paying them off. Scammers have literally said they don't care about being reported, because they pay off the police. Call centers and hacked info have been turned in to the Indian police, and the latest "bust" was shown on hacked cameras, showing they were tipped off and cleared everything out. One police department was given all the info of a hacked call center. The phone system was still hacked, and the conversation between the police chief and the scam boss showed that they were going to meet up, and he was to "bring it!"

Besides being hilarious, it's a stark reminder of how necessary security training is, no matter how common sense it may seem to you or me. If scammers can fall for something like this, then it seems likely that lots of people have basic security vulnerabilities. Thank you for your contribution in keeping people safer.
The ideal finale to this would be the scammer finishing every step, the system accepting the password, then in-character going "You know what, you've been rude to me, I'm tired of your password nonsense!" and disconnecting

You should set up a sort of "virtual puzzlebox" with lots of things like this where you let scammers connect to a virtual machine and leave it on after hanging up. You could install like 12 browsers so that they need to go on a wild goose chase to find which one has your bank information on it, make a bunch of fake pop ups, make them do captchas for every browser interaction, etc.
set it up so you have to constantly hop between browsers to navigate to a site. Sort of like that game on wikipedia where you only click links to get to a particular page
love this idea. given kit already has all these fake sites and files and stuff set up things like this feel like good natural additions to waste scammers time. i like the password game trick and another comments suggestion of an impossible catchpa, stuff theyd be used to running into so they wont suspect right away but theyre just impossible, idk how hard it would be to come up with more ideas for it but any fun things to waste their time are great additions to kits setup imo

Love this idea. I'm already imagining a fake password manager that requires the scammer to go on said wild goose chase to get all the information to reset the password on it, just to see that all of the passwords are labeled some variation of "bank login". Of course, none of the passwords would work on the fake bank page, but that wouldn't stop the scammer from trying all of them, which could be even more torturous if the time between attempts got exponentially longer. Better yet, right before the scammer has tried all the passwords, a fake trojan virus could cover the screen, demanding bitcoin be paid to an IP address that doesn't exist. Accompanied by a siren that starts quiet but gets louder until it's at the highest volume possible.
I call them sometimes from a fake number and mess with them for about 10 minutes. Im a firewall engineer, so Im not worried about them. Keep up the great work!!
@@hectorg5809 That's a very dangerous idea if implemented in law. If people in power wrongly name someone a criminal, they could be punished cruelly without any limits. There also wouldn't be any proportional punishment for crime (which is an ethical thing imo, so if you throw out ethics for criminals, then you're basically saying murderers and petty thieves can be tortured the same way regardless of context). Crimes are against the law, but the law isn't always moral and ethical itself. Sometimes things that shouldn't be illegal are made illegal, or good actions may require law breaking, or sometimes very wrong actions are not illegal and should be. Using "criminal" as a black-and-white label for good or bad people is very narrow-minded. Also, non-criminal humans punishing criminals in inhumane unethical ways can harm their own mental well being. People tend to focus on actions being wrong because they hurt other people, but hurting others also hurts the one performing that action. I'm not saying that the shenanigans in this video go outside ethics, it's totally within bounds imo, but humans should always have moral and ethical lines for ourselves, even when dealing with criminals at the very least to protect our own humanity.

@@delete9090 "Sadly, they're just working under the big bossess, they probably do it to provide for their family/ survive. Hard to land other jobs😢 the real greed at the higher ups"
That's been shown to be false.

You should set up a sort of "virtual puzzlebox" with lots of things like this where you let scammers connect to a virtual machine and leave it on after hanging up. i like the password game trick and another comments suggestion of an impossible catchpa, stuff theyd be used to running into so they wont suspect right away but theyre just impossible, idk how hard it would be to come up with more ideas for it but any fun things to waste their time are great additions to kits setup imo

I am really enjoying hearing them freaking out. I wonder how far insane can you drive someone ethically.
Ethics don't apply when it comes to criminals
@@hectorg5809 They do apply.
@@hectorg5809 I-.. I mean, criminals're bad but let's not go too far here lmao. I'm pretty sure there're still ethics when it comes to criminals, it's just that wasting someone's time isn't ethically that bad.
