    I remember listening to this with my friend in quarantine last year and just sitting there in an absolute trance. The connection between the musicians and their instruments is unlike anything I've ever seen before, it's really like a window into each of their consciences. Not just that but the communication between the two of them - the percussion giving the rhythm and energy so the ney can dance around, it's stunning. My friend and I talk about "circle guy and stick guy" from time to time lol

      Yes, it will, Linda, if we open ourselves to it. Because when we're open, energy flows naturally, inside us and between us. And we find that it's not only with music, that's what helps us open up but that's 'just' the beginning. There are no limits to what we can be, we are in essence divine, just like all other beings. So keep listening to music, real music, not the stuff that's part of the propaganda machine coming out of radio, tv, and various other outlets. This pollution is invading our space all the time and so we need to be very discerning. Only music from the heart is real, and therefore only our hearts can recognize it. It's one of the greatest blessings in our lives...

  • @pedroa.cantero9449
    @pedroa.cantero9449 7 років тому +31

    Kudsi Erguner, miembro de una gran familia de músicos, creció en el seno de la comunidad sufí de Estambul. En las tekke, donde se reúnen los derviches, cotejó los grandes representantes de esta comunidad, se alimentó de su arte y de sus palabras. Como maestro sufí y virtuoso del Ney sus interpretaciones se convierten en plegarias de exaltación. Aquí menoscabadas por la exposición fragmentada a la manera de un muestrario. Catálogo que, privado de desarrollo continuo, carece de la intensidad propia a las meditaciones sufíes. La intención encomiable no basta para penetrar lo primordial. Si el menú elegido permite al profano “percibir” lo que pudieran ser las cinco preces rituales, como todo menú de cata, no consiente la delectación. Cada una es un tiempo absoluto de recogimiento. La primera, en particular, es puro regocijo, “albricias del albor”. La segunda, lamentación y súplica. La tercera, senda hacia el olvido de sí mismo. La cuarta alabanza sublime. La quinta, en fin, liberación purificadora en acción de gracias. Admirable inventario, mas como buen despiece, falto de sustancia medular, sin el recato necesario que aplausos y explicaciones entorpecen. ¿Hasta cuándo deberemos soportar los aplausos intercalados en un recital? Ardua tarea la de proclamar el silencio en los intervalos como homenaje sentido a un interprete y mejor manera de sentir lo que nos ofrece.

    Kudsi Erguner est un virtuose du Ney et un maître sufi, conditions qui font de ses interprétations des prières d’exaltation. Ici plutôt desservies à cause du spectacle comme répertoire fragmenté, à la façon de récitals occidentaux. Échantillons qui privés du déroulement continué, manquent de l’intensité propre aux méditations sufis. L’intention, même si elle fût louable, ne suffit pas pour pénétrer l’essentiel. Si le menu choisi permet au profane « percevoir » ce que pourraient être les cinq prières rituelles, comme tout menu de dégustation, ne consent pas la délectation. La première, en particulier, est pure jouissance, jeu de joie. La deuxième lamentation et supplique. La troisième un cheminement vers l’oubli de soi. La quatrième louange et jubilation. La cinquième enfin c’est la délivrance purificatrice en action de grâce. Bel inventaire, mais comme tout récital, manque l’essentiel, le recueillement suffisant que les applaudissements et les explications interrompent. Un peu comme si on découpait les prières de Silos dans les salons d’une fondation « culturelle »; elles manqueraient de vérité. Ce défaut est la faille qui ruine cette « louable » tentative transculturelle.

      I can hear my Sheikh responding to this: 'To the poor in spirit to those hungry of soul those who have ears to hear this is most satisfying and satiating sustenance... for the musically rich gourmand on the other hand those well fed such a recital may morph into an auditory chameleon or "camelion" having to pass through any tympanic eye of the needle'...however most probably he would say nothing of the sort just smile that is why he is my Sheikh

      Perfection in any sense, whether in spirituality or in music (or in context, as Pedro so poetically described), is what allows to create such masterpiece. On the other hand the quest for perfection is a perpetual state of insatisfaction. The question is how can we achieve both... I guess I'm in need of master Sufi...

      Vos remarques sont certainement pertinentes et guidées par un savant savoir mais malgré tous les défauts que vous diagnostiquez, n'est ce pas déjà en écoutant cette musique une découverte enrichissante ? L'érudition viendra peut-être ensuite, la curiosité c'est déjà très bien.
