Two fun facts:
1) No computers or synthesizers were used to make this track. All the special effects were done by backwards recording etc., and the drums are a tape loop of Roger's playing.
2) They weren't going to release it at first but were urged to do so by Michael Jackson, who was certain that it would be a hit.
I love that John Deacon wrote himself the most epic, killer, iconic bass line of all time. "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," and "Another One Bites the Dust" are played at pretty much any sporting event in the country. I'm sure lots of people don't even know they're singing Queen.
Did you know the bass player John wrote this? It’s about The Mob, St Valentines massacre. The whole band is highly educated. Freddie was Graphic Design, Lead guitar, Dr. Brian May PHD Astrophysics. Roger Taylor drummer Biologist, bass guitar John Deacon, Electronics Engineer. They all wrote hit songs. This wasn’t your normal rock band. 🎸👑
the band is literally a high iq band X3, it makes seance why people love it
They were smart enough to stay together
That's true my dear...
@@Terri6868 they stayed together until Freddie's death.
Darla Hays Yes they did. John decided to retire from music. Roger & Brian carry on, to keep their music alive. They don’t have to do it. They both have solo careers.
Queen wasn't going to release ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST cause they thought it wouldn't be a hit but Michael Jackson heard it and convinced them to release it.
Watching your Queen journey makes me smile. I was on one after the movie and just love the journey. Freddie and Queen spectacle
#challenge Love of my Life, Live at Wembley 1986. Absolutely beautiful! Just Brian and Freddie on stage.
Fun fact - Did you know that you can do CPR to this song? Ironic, huh? 😂
You can also do it to Stayin Aliive by the Bee.Gees.
Have you heard the "original" diss song? Death on two legs
sigh..
they 100 times better 100 other songs than this one
#CHALLENGE
“Liar” and “Ogre Battle”-Live at the Rainbow, 1974
“White Queen”-Live at the Hammersmith Odeon,1975.
Nice choices
This song grew in popularity in the US because people thought queen were a black band
John Deacon(bassist) wrote this and at first it was going to be about cowboys
Maybe in the US lol.
Nobody in the UK, the rest of Europe, Asia, Africa or South America thought Queen were a black band ;)
@@dennetlane2870 yeah that's what I meant..I'll add that to my comment thanks
#Challenge "Love of my Life" or "Who want's to live Forever".
I second the "Who Wan'ts to Live Forever". Queen did the soundtrack for the film Highlander. That was basically the theme song for the whole film.
Yes, and Freddie did a fabulous job singing this LIVE! Also do Love Of My Life LIVE, where the entire crowd sings along with him! And Brian plays such wonderful guitar here!
#CHALLENGE “You Take My Breath Away”. (Studio or lyric version) The harmonies are insane!
Nobody can harmonize with themselves better than Freddie
The 1976 concert version of You Take My Breath Away at Hyde Park is off the chain, though!🔥❤
Hyde Park version I LOOOOOOVE please!!
I VERY MUCH prefer the LIVE version from Hyde Park. The studio version is very beautiful with the harmonies, but the live version, focusing on Freddie and his piano, is so emotional and personal. Sometimes we do not need to gild the lily!!!
COOL CAT by Queen!!! 🥂#challenge
I actually like Cool Cat. I’m not sure why people say it’s their worst song🤷🏿♂️
@@michellepreston9799 maybe cuz hot space was a bad album and they automatically targeted cool cat
Queen at Live Aid, the best performance in rock history.
In the original studio recording. Not only is John Deacon playing the bass. He is also playing the acoustics guitar. Brian May said it was one of the hardest pieces to play live on stage.
Ps this link is Brian May and Roger Taylor as well as John Deacon talking about the song.
ua-cam.com/video/QaznGEUEbXs/v-deo.html
Dude need to get some headphones for Queen ✌
# Challenge...Killer Queen
Love this song
Don't Stop Me Now is an amazing song!! Love your yt channel!!
The guy behind you..dat poster..the King of pop he was partly responsible for this song being released. Nuff said.
Yup - and if you listen hard enough - you can hear it sounds like MJ in fact. The staccato verses sounds like a couple of MJs songs and some of the non-word noises "yeah" "Oohs" etc sound like him.
This song would be a B side, however Michael Jackson heard it in a demo and in a Rehearsal and said to the guys....” You have to release it as a single. Do not waste the opportunity, it’s gonna be number 1”.
The rest is history
John Deacon, the basist, wrote this song!
Weird Al's parody "Another Rides the Bus" is hysterical. I think it's one of Al's best ever.
Situation in my life that I heard this song......? A a female black Brit? ALL MY LIFE..... and what a life. Love it and love your excitement and enthusiasm and search for knowledge. Warning ⚠️. Buckle up buster you are in for the ride of your life and what a life it’ll give you. 😜
Favorite memory: Growing up in Wichita, the public transit campaign using this song but changing it to: Another one rides the bus! It was cool and it stuck all these years! Lol
I have a challenge for you. Do this song in the LIVE version made at Wembley Stadium in 1986. You are missing so much watching the "studio perfect" version. You will not see the energy and charisma Freddie has, when he is singing live he holds in the palm of his hand every one of the thousands and thousands of fans! They even join in singing with him. Plus in the live version he does some scat singing in this song (in the style of the late but great Ella Fitzgerald)! Not to be missed. And are you wearing headphones or earbuds? Can't tell. Put on a good set, crank up the volume, and join in the party! One of the great things about Queen is their LIVE performances - they went out there with their instruments and sang their hearts out and did one heck of a job - probably better than many others do under "studio" conditions.
After you see the live version, I hope you will appreciate using the live versions. Every song is done slightly different from the studio version. Freddie often said that you could just sit at home and listen to the CD or video. He want people to come to the concerts and be entertained!
You had asked about where we had experienced this song. I originally heard it on the radio but we frequently sang portions of this song while on the firing range when I was in the army.
#Challenge - I had shared previously to react to “I Want It All” you have probably heard portions of this sound but most likely the entire song. It is one of their best later rocking songs!
🔥🔥🔥
Try reacting to the queens performance at live aid bro! Thaaat is something you don't wanna Miss! That performance sums up what Queen is and what Freddie Mercury is!
love it!! your reactions are great. Guess you'll need a Queen poster to put behind you!
LUTHER was the name of the guy in The Warriors that did the bottle thing !!! One of my favorite movies- I can remember the day it was released !! Ah, memories !!! 👍
I saw Queen live on 8-20-1980 at the Hartford Civic Center and it was at that concert that Queen first performed this song live. I was 17 years old at the time.
Every disco in America! This song was on the American charts for 6 months. It was everywhere.
#Challenge " Innuendo"
Love of my life Wembley 1986 DO IT Challenge!!!!
#challenge White Queen Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975- Fire🔥🔥🔥🔥
Queen don’t stop me now! My favorite!!❤️Tennessee
....yes yes yes......and Miracle & Cold Stone Crazy!
#Challenge "Save me" Queen, 1981 live @ montreal
Queen-spread your wings
It's a great song.
Please react to Freddie Mercury's showmanship at "Live Aid 1985'
you will be exhausted at the end :-) enjoy!
Funniest experience with Another One bites the dust was in a discussion of mondegreens and this guy said he always thought the lyrics were "Another One by Sadust." Cracked me up. And once again, i challenge you with Queen's "You're my best friend." I rarely hear that nowadays but it's a sweet song.
Yes...Skating rinks! I was skating when this song was a hit !
I was 14 when this song came out in 1980 and skated to it every weekend
Michelle Salgado we are the same age!
I remember as a kid hearing this played in the background while my family played cards and partied. I also remember people thinking it was a black group singing this song.
When I was learning CPR in nursing school we were told that when doing chest compression to do them to the beat of Another One Bites the Dust. I tad bit morbid and ironic but it certainly gives the correct rate of compressions to save someone's life
😳😳😳🤷
Oh shit ! You busted out with the “Warriors come out and play yay” 😂
Death on Two Legs. It's a diss track by Queen at their record label. It will not disappoint.
I’m starting to love your reactions. You got to be around my age cause I had this ‘45, had to have that little plastic round thing to make my ‘45 fit on the record player. You know what I’m talking about....an damn the skating rink. OMG! I miss the those days. Everything was so simple and the freaking music was off the freaking chain!
Cool, that you've heard it before, but would you have thought, it's Queen? But after all, it's Freddie's vocals, nobody sounds the same. It has been a big #1 hit all over the world in 1980. Michael Jackson persuaded Queen to put it out as a single, he heard the big potential of this song.
#Challenge Under Pressure - Queen & David Bowie
You might have heard the bass line (it has been stolen from the the original song), but do you know the song? It has been a #1 hit back in the 80's.
My experience with another one bites the dust is from my Pop Warner football team in 1980. They played it after every win because we ended up going undefeated until the championship game
As a nurse I learned to do compressions in CPR to this beat. It gives the perfect rate.
Here it is Nov.2020 and still watching Queen
Prince's of the universe is one not many people have heard before
everyone i've ever beat in a video game has heard me sing "I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings!" :P
Back in the '80s there was a wrestler called Junkyard Dog, and he would enter the arena while Another One Bites the Dust played. It was his signature song. Fans would go crazy when he did his victory dance to it. I think that was the first time I heard it :D
Another fantastic band
‚Killer Queen‘!!
Goosebumps. ..love it . Mine was at a roller disco Friday night..not only an outstanding band but brings back precious memories. .thanku. .shout out to your dance moves. .brilliant. .love an god bless x
you've DEFINITELY heard another: "we are the champions"
Magic at Wembley stadium in London. Also You Nader Pressure from same live show.
Also Breakthrough.
I recommend Breakthrough it's also by Queen it's such a good song. It happened in the 2nd to the last album before his death. The drummer's name is Roger Taylor, the guitarist is Brian May, the Bassist is John Deacon
I remember when I first heard it on the radio when it was first released. Rollerskating too! Love your reaction to it!
How about Hammer to Fall or Tie Your Mother Down? Dragon Attack is also a banger! And yes, that's Brian May's real hair: he still has it, just grayer!
Did you know Michael Jackson heard this and urged them to release it as a single because he knew it had potential to be a big hit....and he was right!!
Freddie always said his heart belonged tp a woman that he dated for quite awhile but physically he was more attracted to men. This same woman is the only person who knows where she deposited Freddie's ashes (which is what he wanted) and she also got the bulk of his worldly goods. Even after they split up and she ended up getting married they still stayed close.
You're not lying about skating rinks--that sh*t's for real!
#QUEEN4LIFE PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!
#challenge My Melancholy Blues and Now I'm Here
queen-its a kind of magic
The Detroit Lions used this song during one of their last runs in the playoffs (probably 30 years ago or so, knowing the Lions). :-) But I grew up with Queen, so that was not the first time I ever heard the song.
Dragon Attack. Queen!
#CHALLENGE "I Want It All "
Somebody to love
Queen prince's of the universe or baby metal papya
Loved your reaction keep up the good work. Ready and waiting for your next Queen reaction.
Death on two legs and Love of my life. They both were done in the 70’s. 😍👍
They were the greatest rock band try watching them at live aide
This Song was No 1 in USA.
Seen Freddie Mercury and Queen perform in 1978 in Toronto At Maple leaf gardens they rocked out foray least 2 full hours RIP Freddie I'm still watching Brian May and Roger Taylor perform with Adam Lambert they have been on tour for almost 9 yrs
I remember it on am radio when it came out! 😎😎😎
Hi. You can listen "dead on two legs" in At night at the Opera. It s amazing to me.
Hammer to Fall!!!
Try Death on two legs by Queen love from Canada your reactions are great
Fun fact: the bassline is Good Times by Chic.
Freddie and Lady Diana (yes William and Harry's mom) were friends. On at least one occasion Freddie and some of his friends dressed her up in drag and took her to a gay night club. they said she had a blast. It was so nice to be able to go out and not have people even pay her any attention. In my opinion both of them were 2 of the greatest people and they unfortunately got taken from us way too soon.
That song was actually about the st valentine massacre in the 1930s
You Take My Breath Away - must be the 1976 live version. Always watch Freddie and Queen live performances - so much more exciting. Freddie puts his heart and soul into everything he does. I know the sound may be better on a studio recording, but would you watch a great tv show with the audio up and a blindfold on your eyes. Something is missing there!!!
Have you heard We Are The Champions?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a horse vaulting class that has a dance routine choreographed to this. Fitting when a move does not work amd they jave to jump off!
Love your reactions keep it up holla@krazy from Chris all the way from Ireland 👍
Love your appreciation!
Cheers for the video mate 😎 👌
This was used as music for an after school special about a suburban girl getting into angel dust. You can also use the beat from this song to perform CPR (not joking). I never remember on my own that Bee Gees' Staying Alive can be used as well (and sounds better to bystanders)
Do Radio Ga Ga or Breakthru. Songs you might not have heard. Or watch the Live aid concert!
There are official "Live" videos, you should look for them.
#Chalenge Queen-under pressure live
