Dashon is my best friend and old college roommate. For twenty years now, his singing has given me chills and brought me to tears. Listening to him here, and reading through all the comments praising him, brings me so much joy. He's so talented, and I'm so proud to call him my friend! 🤩
Ditto a thousand times. Fantastic!
He’s a once or twice in a generation talent. Every time I hear him my jaw drops.
what is his instagram handle? I couldn't find him
lol
P
The clouds part and heaven is revealed! Truly an inspired voice. Thank you for blessing us, sir.
My dad would've loved hearing this rendition and Dashon Burton's voice. He would've been itching to go up on stage and sing it himself as he would every Christmas season back home for their local production. He had retired from singing many moons ago. He gave one last performance two years ago at my Uncles funeral where he sang Bach's "Ave Maria". He struggled, but got through it. Come to find out my dad was dying of Stage 4 lung cancer. He passed away last year on my 44th birthday.
Thank you for sharing this lovely memory of your father, Christopher.
He now sings with the Savior as will we all one day soon. And what a choir it will be. See you there my friend.
So sorry
The trumpet player here is top notch.
Yes, the trumpeter is worth more than just an honourable mention.
I must concur. Amazing artistry.
The ending was glorious..
The trumpet player is incredible in this recording!
The singer ain’t bad neither.
There is only one thing I want before I meet my Maker....to be sitting in a live audience when Mr. Dashon Burton opens his mouth to sing. Anything will do but if if it could be "The Trumpet shall Sound" that would be my idea of perfection.
Looove your statement 🙃😇
@@marinapegrisch1305 Love your comment. Dashon is a product of the PA public schools and proof that every student, in every school needs to have a full arts experience.

Dashon Burton is a phenomenon. His rendition of this solo piece is the best i have listened to in Thirty-One (31) years. He was flawless in the articulation of the consonants and his breath control is second to none. Above all, his mastery of this piece is awesome.
I am sure the great G.F. Handel in his grave, is pleased with the flawless execution of this piece.
Thank you for this lovely comment!
I would not consider this flawless. Alistair Miles' version is, to me, the better performance
Waiting to be raised incorruptible no doubt!

More than pleased I'd say. Truly wonderful!
He has sung with us at Princeton Pro Musica and I sure hope he would again soon. Lordy!
There is a lady in the choir who is enjoying this marvellous performance as much as we are.
standing ovulation.....
she sure is, God bless her!
A wonderful voice indeed. As a chorister we are often mesmerised by the soloists. It's almost like a professional masterclass for us! One can only dream of having such talent!
I've noticed her too
Simply one of the best Handel baritones around.
Wow, what a fantastic voice. Every word could be clearly heard.
I listen to this at least twice a day. Dashon is pure perfection.
I have heard many performances as a chorister with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra and this performance surpasses my previous clear
favourite. Bravo, bravissimo!
Mr. Burton is both singing and preaching of 1 Corinthians 15:52 with everything in his being. A very powerful message and reminder to his audience and us about the Great Return of Christ.
Even so come Lord Jesus
Amen.
I had heard Mr. Burton sing this in an earlier rendition and thought it marvelous, but my Lord, he surpasses sublime here! Even some of the instrumentalists appeared to be moved. The woman sitting behind him hadn't stopped smiling and nodding her head as if she was saying "Amen!"
Mr Burton is fantastic- truly inspired singing - you could feel Handel's intention fully developed. This passes the goosebumps test - sends a chill down my spine, and I'm happy to see the singers, the orchestra and audience felt it also. The trumpet was outstanding as well, and I loved the Baroque ornamentation. The best version I've ever heard. Congratulations, Boston Baroque!
This guy is phenomenal! Love ❤️ this! I've played this multiple times. It gives me peace. No one can sing it like him and I've heard multiple renditions.
I'm like the lady in the back... her face tells me all I need to know. BRAVO!!!
Mr Burton has the most extraordinary voice unlike any other I've heard sing the Messiah I have ever heard.
But the beautiful smile on the lady’s face behind him tho🥹❤️
What an experience to be allowed to listen to Dashon Burton in this music from Handel. He sings of the promises to all of us, when the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, we shall all be changed, incorruptible in a moment. This is incredibly good news. Thank you Mr. Burton.
Amen and amen...see you there!
@@alunderwood5903 Yes, we will. . . . . . . . Amen and Amen.
Amen. Yes, we see each other as brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be His Name! Praise to Father God and the Holy Spirit!
Wonderful! 👏👏👏👏👏I never tire of listening to Mr Burton singing this song. I look forward to the day when my mortal body becomes immortal and I see my Saviour. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶

To God be the Glory.
"The Trumpet Shall Sound"
"The trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption,
and this mortal must put on immortality."
Dashon Burton sings with so much ease and precision, really great!
Fabulous voice. ...
What a beautiful instrument, Mr Burton!
Discovering this magnificient singer today 4 April 2023. Outstanding interpretation. Awesome voice.

Awesome Voice and a personality to match.
Supurb.Makes me fill with gratitude and Joy.The sublime singing only intensifies the absolute truth that Christ is Risen,indeed...Mr.Burton,thank you.
Fantastic, the Trumpet shall Sound has an alluring melody! With a fabulous sonorous intensity of voice, D. Burton shows expression, grace and superior technique in the high and low notes. Superb trumpet player, there is musicianship technique, breath control and talent. The orchestra's performance is exquisite and refined. Outstanding conductor. Listening to 'The Trumpet shall Sound' is captivating to the soul and mind.!
Magnificent ! I knew from the start, that Dashon's career would grow like this....
, wow, 2 violists are truly enjoying the music , playing with each other and the whole thing.....why not!!!!🙂🙃🙂
Praise him! With a loud voice. He is worthy! Thank you for sharing this wonderful assembly of talented musicians and the soaring voice of this singer lifted toward heaven! ❤️🙏🏽
Wonderfully intense and earnest piano singing in the B section; amazing , imaginative and rousing improv and embellishment at the da capo... I was hanging on ever note ... and then Mr Pyle and his trumpet got into the act too!
This is the second rendition I have heard with baroque trumpet. Both renditions were performed with Dashon Burton's Bass-Baritone. Both renditions were excellent. I appreciate Robinson Pyle's approach to baroque trumpet sound production.
What a voice, magnificent
What a voice, such a strong and clear voice! Just wonderful! Congratulations.
In the 2nd part A, you can see the two male soloists in the background smiling at the vocal flourishes by Mr. Burton: 06:59. I believe those soloists are Thomas Cooley (tenor) and Christopher Lowrey (countertenor). Along with Mr. Barton, both of those guys are FABULOUS singers.
So uplifting. Thanks, Dashon 🙏👌💐
In mere moments I found myself sitting upright and leaning into the screen to get closer to this magnificent performance. I felt my whole face smile broadly as I watched this superlative musician in complete command of the music, his voice, and the moment. And he k-n-e-w it. You could see the glee in his eyes. O holy night, at the end I was ecstatic; truly, with tears of joy. The most invigorating nine minutes and twelve seconds I've had in a long time. Thank you, T-H-A-N-K You, Mr. Burton.
What magnificent-God-given voice!
A really phenomenal baritone, effortlessly and elegantly performing a technically and artistically demanding aria!
I just LOVE this! I did notice one woman, though, who almost looked angry the entire time he was singing.
Phenomenal! Truly.❤
Perfect singing with the best voice. Hakika nimekumbuka mbali sana, asante kwa burudani nzuri sana.
Excuse me and excuse me some more. This piece belongs to Dashon Burton. He sings it not simply with technical prowess but with a heart that feels and believes the message of the piece.
Handel himself composed this masterpiece hoping that one day someone would sing this area with all the heart he put into the composition.
I do declare this day that that someone is Dashon Burton.
Indeed
Beautifully said.
Absolutely 💯
What a gift God has given him!
Superb performance. Mr. Burton is wonderful. What a God given talent.
Dashon so gifted such depth brings me to tears and a reminder of Christ's greatness
Flawless rendition ,without equal .
2023 Dashon where are you in concert this holiday season?
Happy Sabbath.. my song every week to usher in the Sabbath
Big shout-out for the superb trumpet player. Lovely tone, accurate pitching and excellent phrasing playing the very difficult baroque trumpet. It's a hard enough piece to play well on a modern trumpet.
As he sings and sways, two violinists sway with him
Glorious!
Heartiest congratulations to Boston Baroque. This gave me goosebumps! Superb performance by everyone. ❤ A++
Be BLESSED AMEN
Is this guy coming to Florida soon.
We would love ❤️ to see him here! Bravo!!!
This is so beautiful and joyful, I feel hopeful just hearing it.
Profoundly superb!!!
What a great performance. One of my favourites made even more precious.
What an incredible talent! Long live great singing and beautiful music!
Potente baritono e ottimo sostegno dalla tromba. Bravi!!
When are we going to see him at the Metropolitan Opera House? I hope it's soon!! What a magnificent voice! The timbre of his voice reminds me of Sam Ramey's. He would be a great Star bass-baritone there!
magnificent! The Bass is very good!
This is the best performance of this piece I've heard to date. I'm so happy that I stumbled across it. Dashon certainly communicates the excitement that will be experienced when Jesus comes again. God bless the soloist..conductor and musicians of course 😊
The voice, the technique, the tekst, the partition, all combined in this wonderful great musician. His performance is the sounding trumpet ... Worldclass, absolute top!
Excellent singing. Lovely ornamentation from the trumpet at the conclusion too.
Love the 2nd part A when the singer embellishes. Fabulous.
Majestic
