I wouldn't waste money on cementing a tiered theater. Just a level cement floor and build a wooden tiered floor. Who knows how long the movie theater will be useful or used BUT a more level basement area is forever useful. Like for a tornado shelter or kids to play in the winter.
Thats what he is doing. Yes, he is making the one step but thats just so he doesnt have to remove or dig right next to his existing footer. He will pour most of the theatre floor flat after the initial step and build the platform for the seating out of wood. At least thats what he told us in the last video.
COLE!! The problem with the drain versus sump pump is if the end of the drain is flooded the drain will backup water and will flood the house out! the higher the flood the deeper the water will be in the basement!
If flooding is an issue in that area I guess. You could always put in a one-way valve. Hi Cole, my wife and I love your approach to every task needed for your restoration. With a background in laying gas lines for residential and commercial construction . I was wondering if you might considered laying a 1" - 3/4" black (underground) gas pipe instead of a smaller diameter copper gas line. The black iron pipe will reduce the risk of being punctured or cracked. The black gas line would run from the propane tank to the house with a riser coming out of the ground near the house so you can directly connect the gas regulator.
You can't bury black pipe unless it is coated in rust protection. The copper line is fine been doing it for a long time. There copper lines that been in the ground 50 years and not a single one of the leak.

I would be replacing the gas line. It’s probably due to be done, anyhow. The peace of mind knowing you don’t risk a leak down the road, is worth it. Those copper lines don’t really do well after being wooled around a few times.
Cole, you should just build a form and concrete that outside wall. It will be cleaner in the future, even more stable, and give you a relatively straight flat wall to build against
Cole you better put socks over your pipe or otherwise the dirt/ clay will seal the perforated pipe holes 🕳️ in time and water will never get in them. So they make pipe socks that's material you slide over those pipes which prevent the holes in pipe from being clogged and sealed with dirt. Also be sure you put a cage cap or screen wire over the end of your drain pipe or rodent's or other wild life will build nests & burrow in the pipe and stop it up ! So definitely add a screen wire cap over the end to keep critters out of your drain pipe or otherwise it's useless if they dam up the insides of it .
Once the laser is set put it off to one side slightly ,, exactly the pitch you want and place a large easily seen mark on the side of the excavator arm Black masking tape often works well. On the bright side, I guess it could also be used as a tornado bunker, and if he hooked it up to batteries, they could be watching movies while all their neighbors are shaking in terror.
This gas line stuff is driving me crazy. Just unhook it and go nuts with the excavator. It’s no longer a gas line when it’s disconnected. Just some copper tube.

Watching you guys work makes me happy, is that wrong? Na' Grammy put her day's in, my major working days are over.... now my working day's consist of watching my 3 great granddaughters ♥
I hope you realize that the water will drain off at its current Underground Level, but if you have a period of flooding like you did earlier in the year, the water will backflow and actually come up the pipe so the last stretch should have a backflow preventer or you might have nothing but a swimming pool in your basement.
You forget that he has like 7 more feet of fall to get to the creek So the creek would have to come up 7 feet plus to get water in the basement. Now if the creek is a flowing creek all you have to do is place the outlet of the tile so the creek is flowing across it creating a vacuum and water will not go in the tile.
WAIT, so if Roman dug the water carrying trench, does that make it a Roman Aquaduct??? lol

On the bright side, I guess it could also be used as a tornado bunker, and if he hooked it up to batteries, they could be watching movies while all their neighbors are shaking in terror.
I think it’s just a basement for the extension that will have a couple of bedrooms.
I thought he said a garage would be above it. Might end up being a good storm shelter with concrete walls, ceiling, floor!
Yes theater/bunker and watch Twister! Iowa life! 🤣
Man cave!
@@racheld8843 no, house addition above theatre and a garage at the end of that.
I knew Ron would be there eventually, love your build, bet you can’t wait to move in with fam 🌈🦄
This gas line stuff is driving me crazy. Just unhook it and go nuts with the excavator. It’s no longer a gas line when it’s disconnected. Just some copper tube.
I always save your videos to watch late at night. I find it relaxing (and all the kids are in bed). 😂🌻
Kudos to you for adding helping out the Ronald McDonald House charity to your busy schedule - you’re an impressive young man! This charity is an amazing support for people under enormous stress and anguish due to loved ones’ medical issues.
Cole your voice is just fine I'm happy you talk loud and fast. Many of us do and i think its very rude folks gotta say negative things about it. I know i wish some would change their voices and speak louder but that's just Silly. Love watching you guys Naive and the boys will have a fabulous home and i hope they talk loud also! 😝😜🤪 keep doing great things! Go Izzy!
Roman is my Hero
What I like best about watching your projects, is that it makes my projects seem easier! 😅
AC + AM/FM =Cushy Criteria! YAY You Two!
This is right up my alley.
Thank you for less yelling. Smart people talk softer than others.
These vids could so be an hour long, not realistic I know but damn so freaking interesting, you and Roman are killing it !!
Why save the gas line, just put a new one in.
Recycle
Outdated as well.
@@helixhippiesome places don’t recommend underground tanks. In my area, the water table is high enough, you could have issues with the tank floating with heavy rains. Could be something with his area that burying isn’t the best idea.
I'll be at the Iowa State Fair sometime between 8/10-8/14. We're flying to Des Moines from Tennessee on 8/10 to visit friends in Prairie City. Maybe I'll see ya there.
Roman Rocks!!!!!!!🎉
Cole I don't know what you would do without Ron's help every time you need big equipment.
It’s Cole the corn star!!!!
That would be an awesome accent wall and retain some of the history of the house in the new addition!
I said it! “Cole the Cornstar”!🎉
I’ve been to the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester MN. Fantastic job they do for families that have someone at St Marys-Mayo Clinic. Throw that change in the red bins!
You need to replace that part of the wall. It’s not structural anymore. It’s gonna give you problems pouring the new footers and walls for your addition.
He is going to pour cement right next to that wall to make it thicker and to tie in all that old wall into the new wall
Great job Cole and Roman Cole you should pour concrete in front of the old wall and cap it good luck at the fair
Great video today. Stay awesome all y'all 🌽✨
30 min video was released 7 minutes ago and youre saying it was a banger? Did you have it on fast forward?
Now you can move the gas tank to where you want it! I agree new gas line would be a good idea can never be too safe. 🎉
Yes! Im all for draining the swamp! Love your channel!
This series has been great and has a lot of twists and turns but I think you are doing well and doing it the way you want.
Been missing the Cole the cornstar intro
Same dude
Me too 😂
It's gotten old and very annoying. Like a sneeze, I could sense it was coming, so I quickly paused the video and skipped over it. LOL
Yes Sir I 👍 agree
👍
Wow ! Excellent point Jim . I would Not of thought of that.
Hopefully he reads your comment.
Check valve on pipe
You forget that he has like 7 more feet of fall to get to the creek So the creek would have to come up 7 feet plus to get water in the basement. Now if the creek is a flowing creek all you have to do is place the outlet of the tile so the creek is flowing across it creating a vacuum and water will not go in the tile.
