I married this year to a north balinese girl.I spent a whole month just exploring gems there.Its truly an untouched area in bali ,there are barely any western people or tourists and the prices are crazy cheap.I got so used to the local prices there that when we went to our honeymoon in Seminyak i was shocked how expensive it is there.

@@XavierLeong Bali is heavily dependent on Tourism, yes. But it has its negatives it would seem. People are afraid locals are being replaced by foreigners. Of course foreigners cannot own land but there is a loop hole, well sort of. Also, many people think foreigners are not interacting with the locals that much. Some foreigners are also rude; I read an article showing many instances of foreginers getting deported for bad behaviour. But these are all just stories I heard from my friends. I am not sure if foreign businesses there require certain numbers of Indonesians to be employed like the similar policies in some places, but if not, they should. Hey as long as you respect the locals anyway, you shouldn't feel worried. I think the state of Bali is quite good. The influx of tourists is causing an overall net positive to the local economy and the people, in my opinion. Good luck!

It’s not too hard, it’s just your white privilege. Imagine an Indonesian living in France for years and tell the local French is too hard to learn and demand locals to speak English or Indonesian to them, guaranteed racism and discrimination
