    You are bang on I did buy the 2018 Platinum I have deleted all the chrome plus bought the TRD hood scoop. Then put on a pair of fuel average rims with some nice tires truck looks so sharp.

    I just picked up a 2015 grey Tundra 4x4 TRD Off Road SR5 / doublecab/6.5 ft. bed - drove 2 hrs. to get it from a Cadillac dealer. One owner, but definitely not a cream puff. I camp and lightly off road/explore / weekend overland warrior so that was no problem. The kicker though, is it came with black heated/vented Katzkin leather seats with the Texas Edition star stitched in/ ARE carpeted camper shell / line X bed / and a great set of BFG KO2 tires. So, I've added 2021 LED black headlights, Dynamic Diode SSA Pro yellow fogs, TRD PRO grill, bedrug, Method MR705 black wheels (brand new on the market), Go Rhino Raptor style running boards. About to do the TRD exhaust (mostly placebo effect I know) and lastly I'm going with the 3.5" Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pro suspension kit. All this, for probably 20k less than I could touch a real PRO for.
    As another poster stated, it will still show SR5 and not PRO when running that VIN, but I'm ok with that.

    I own both a 2021 Tundra and a 2020 4Runner. I love them both! The TRD Pro packages are the worse choice for price and options. Contrary to popular belief the TRD Pro is not a Platinum with offroad features. The Pro is actually a Limited with offroad shocks, a heavy skid plate and TRD exhaust. The Platinum and 1794 are the real top tear trucks. Dealers will not negotiate on the Pro but will on all other trims. My advice to anyone who wants a Pro and wants the best deal is to buy a Limited; $51,000 before negotiations which will often get it around $46,000 with incentives. A Pro is $56,000 + and no discount! With the $10,000 saved you can build a much better truck; and won't be limited to only 3 color choices!
    Get a Limited with the TRD Offroad package and you will basically have a Pro for several thousand less. All the Toyota trucks come with highway tires, even the TRD Pro 4Runner with it's Nitto Grappler 2s are substandard offroad tires. My first upgrade on my 4Runner was KO2s which made it more offroad-worthy than a Pro! If I wanted a Pro I would buy a Limited with the offroad package and add KO2s. It would be better offroad than a Pro with stock tires! I can not imagine paying $56,000+ for an offroad truck with highway tires... INSANE!!!
    My 4Runner is for off roading and my Tundra is for travel and family comfort. My 4Runner is a Venture edition and my Tundra is a Trail edition. I paid $40,500 for the 4Runner; MSRP was $46,500. I paid $42,000 for my Tundra; MSRP was $47,600!
    You mention the fact the nose is lower than the rear on all models except the Pro. This is for payload and can easily be adjusted with a level kit for about $100 plus instal if you can not or choose not to do it yourself. Understand though that if you load the truck or pull a trailer the nose will then be very high and will look even more awkward.
    A Platinum/1794 lists for about $55,000 but both can be purchased for about $49,000 with incentives. I always negotiate for invoice minus incentives and when a dealer says "No" I walk! The Pro's are all none negotiable and can even be found with market premiums of up to $10,000! Only a fool pays this! No matter what trim level you buy you will lose about 10% of the value the moment you sign for it... Don't be fooled into thinking a Pro will retain more of it's value. A 10% loss is a 10% loss! And the premium for market you will never get back!
    Choose wisely and don't buy the hype! Toyota builds the best cars/trucks/SUVs but they too can be more about market hype than actual value. You are buying a machine that will last for 300,000 miles... Get your money's worth out of it! UA-cam is full of 'first on the block' jackass's who want bragging rights and trade in their Pro's every year for the new premium color... My bragging rights are all in my wallet!
    Best of luck with your new Truck.

      I need a 21 truck. Sounds like I need to you to do the shopping and negotiating for me. You find me a 21 platinum windchill white, negotiate with dealer to save me thousands as you do, I will fly in to buy and drive it home. Deal? What's in it for you? You get a percentage of what I save?

    • @erosthespacesoldier1712
      @erosthespacesoldier1712 3 роки тому

      @@bthao148 I don't know how serious you are but Tundra and 4Runner inventory is really low right now. In my area there are three Toyota dealers and only one has a Tundra in stock and that's all they have, one! Now is not the time to buy a Tundra, 4Runner or Tacoma due to pandemic-driven low inventories.
      Honestly, when the time comes just tell them "invoice minus incentives"... I've been told no to this and simply walk away. You will find a dealer that will discount, at least I always do.

      @WMD I own the SR5 Trial edition which is very hard to find. The SR5 is a good truck without all the bells and whistles, I would buy another in a heartbeat! Right now, if you can, wait until production catches up with demand otherwise you will be at the dealers mercy. I had a call last month from my dealer and he wanted to buy my truck back for more than I paid for it!
      Also, if you buy the SR5 be sure to get the upgrade package that comes with the 38-gallon fuel tank, it truly needs it. The TRD Offroad package is also very nice! Better wheels and shocks if you are inclined to do light off-roading.
      Best of luck!

    • @erosthespacesoldier1712
      @erosthespacesoldier1712 3 роки тому

      @WMD when the market is stocked the price difference is so small you are better off buying new. Now, it's a crazy market for new and used but will change... Wish you the best!

    • @erosthespacesoldier1712
      @erosthespacesoldier1712 3 роки тому

      @WMD I would have to say so to have the best selection and pricing, wait. Also, there is a new generation of Tundra coming in the fall/winter and I am not sure when production of the current model will end! You may find them at discounts or priced high because of demand and supply. I honestly bought my Tundra for the V8 which it seems will be replaced with a turbo V6. I am not a fan of turbos and I never buy the first year of a new model. You and your hubby may very well not mind this and be happy, it's just my opinion.

    Nice video, hope you’re enjoying the truck! I got a 21 TRD Pro about 3 months ago and love it. I can say though that the one thing I wish the Pro had is BSM. I’m pretty sure the JBL sound system is the same though right? Which isn’t the greatest in my opinion, but love both nonetheless.

      @@isaiahparks5628 I have no real complaints; there was a couple things that were a bit dated but to me worth the trade for reliability.
      I think the new one will be pretty cool and more
      modern: but I don’t think the engine will be lasting 300-400 k with the twin turbos it’s suppose to have. But then again that only matters if you like holding vehicles for long terms or put a lot miles on them fast.
      Me I wanted that longevity reliability and that’s why I chose to go the 21 vs wait for the 22.

      Also I went with the method rims and TOYO Extreme 2's but I run a custom size. Ost people run a 33, but I have 34.5 inch tires. No rubbing , no body chop mount, even at full flex.
      If I had to do it again I would replace it with the TOYO RT tires which are in between a AT & a MT tire. They came out after I got my wheels and seems to be the new trend. But the BF KO2's are a bit dated

    I did not have any choice when I was buying my 2021 Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road plus all other packages. It was basically the only one new truck on the lot and I paid MSRP minus dealer fee and destination charges. For the features you mentioned, I do not have the extra seat adjustment feature, the power mirrors, and I am not sure if mine have the dimming options on them as well, nor I have the cooling seat, which are not needed where I live. But pretty much, I have the same other features - stereo is the same and other goodies are the same, including the safety features. My suspension is better however, and your sits have better stitching. But overall, I paid 50k plus tax and tag and I have most of the stuff. It appears that Toyota made the best choice for me simply because that was the only choice. Do I like TRD Pro? Yes, I do, but mine is pretty much there plus a lot of more goodies. I am planning to use my vehicle for hunting and fishing, but that does not justify the TRD Pro price tag, plus I need the safety features. This is a big truck.

With the colored matched side view mirror covers, mat black door handles, dirtydeeds trd replacement exhaust it came out to the same as a trd pro. My setup gives me more versatility with the option to stiffen or soften my ride as needed. But hey if you got a trd pro with no mark up awesome. For me personally it was better to get alll the creature comforts plus a better ride for the same price as a pro.

      @@tacoswelding8411 have a 21 platinum so yeah mark ups were already the norm at that time for all models due to the chip shortage.
