I met him and took a few photos in 1977. At Disney World of all places. He was with wife and kids a day or two prior to show in Tampa. Sadly one of his kids would die only weeks later.

Only because of his fame. If you saw a similarly-dressed, long-haired, young, skinny guy in wal mart, you would clutch your purse and avoid eye contact.

You can see that rockers during the 60s and 70s weren't just a bunch of wild punks trying to make it big but they were legit intellectual musicians who can articulate their craft well.

@@benlange7124it was the result of the pomp popularized by peppers by Beatles. Not always for the better. It could get pretentious and pompous with little redeeming value. Most rockers from every era were pretty ignorant and uneducated. For every plant or Iggy Pop that was relatively well-spoken and educated was a thousand Ozzy osbournes, stumbling mumbling buffoon.

@@shebastinson7813 actually he tried to leave Led Zeppelin. He thought about being a teacher instead. Plant had a nervous breakdown when his son died. He didnt want to be in the band and add to that the insult of Page and JPJ not attending Karac's funeral. There is a reason "all of my love", a song Plant wrote for Karac, doesnt feature Page as cowriter. Bonzo convinced him to stay. When Bonzo died, he didn't have a reason to stay anymore.

You are truly blessed...Zep is my heart n' soul! Unfortunately, I was born too late. my first experience with Zep was when I when I heard Zep III. I was in complete awe & needed to find out everything I could about this brilliant band. I now own all their records in mint condition, given to me as a gift. dvd's, cd'c & an amazing painting of the band that cost me 2mos mortgage. I got to see Plant perform @The Newport jazz fest for his "In the Mood" tour. It was the greatest nite of my excistance!

I never called Robert P. a moralist nor did I call him virtuous. You misunderstood my comments. I am in awe of how smart this guy really was at such a young age. He was only in his 20s in this clip. I am in my 30s and I have never met a guy this talented and this smart at the same time. I admire him, but I don't worship him. It also doesn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes in his youth. There isn't a lead singer today that even comes close to his delivery.

    • @LoyalOpposition
