    Thank you. Single mother with no help. I've watched several videos and yours is the best! Was able to switch out the coils all by myself.

    Thanks for he useful video. My dryers problem was the heating coil. But I plan to take your advice and replace both the thermostat and coil together. Keep up he great job. I don't often service or repair all my appliances but do on occasion and this was helpful.

    Excellent video. Is this a nicely designed appliance - for the repair person anyway. If I were paying someone I'd go for your kit but as its me and its easy - well, you know.

      @@LeanOnYourRep good morning Reggie! Now the dryer won’t start at all! I don’t see anything from your videos regarding this situation! I’ve looked other UA-camrs and for some reason it’s giving me 2 different thermal fuse to replace one is round n other is white oblong shape! Don’t know if it’s the back but my dryer seems like it’s one piece on the back of my dryer so I’m wondering if it’s behind the big drum sorry if that’s not the actual name! Sorry it’s kinda long but thanks if you have any idea

    Hi, thanks for the great video! I highly appreciate it.
    I have a question. I was able to take out the heating element. After that, I wanted to remove the thermal fuse bracket (with the thermal fuse attached) from the heater housing, but cannot remove it. Could you tell me how to do that (and any tool I should use)? In the video, you did that very easily (7:16), so I was puzzled. Thanks again!!

    I am not seeing part numbers for these replacements.or anywhere to buy a kit. No resistance coming from my heating element.

    Great video. Replaces the heat coil and thermal breakers but unit will still not run at all. There is another thermal unit on the front behind the front panel. Could this be the problem? Where to get this item? Any other ideas?

    So.. what if it wasnt the heating element or the temperature sensor or the thermal cut off..? All mine show that they have continuity.

      Check for element grounding and test power outlet for 240v of power

    Maytag Performa dryer, MDE2500AYW, has worked great the 18 years we’ve had it and I beleive I can get another 10 out of it.
    This January the jumper wire on the heater element burnt up. I replaced it and the dryer started heating up again. Two weeks ago same wire burnt again. I’m thinking is there something else. Heater element looks fine no damage, no rust or cracks in the coil. I would like to send you a picture I took.

    Do the leads just pull off from the thermostat or is there a trick to getting them off.

    We have the same dryer and model as this one, issue is it won’t heat. We bought a kit and replaced everything, fuse, switch, coils. It turns on but doesn’t hear. Continuity and all is there. What else could it be? An electric issue?

    What if this dryer cuts on for 30secs and cut right back off

    • @LeanOnYourRep
      @LeanOnYourRep  5 років тому

      Depending on the type of dryer, if it runs for a few minutes turns off and you have to wait before it starts on again then that's a sign of a bad motor. If you have a GE, if the dryer is overheating due to clogged up air duct it will automatically turn off and then switch back on
