Egön Allegri Calm down, super hero. You could argue against anything. I'd rather have 1000 moderates who don't believe in science over 100 radicals trying to kill innocent people, mutilating children and raping women. Of course you can argue against religion all day long. I could, I can poke holes in those holy books til my face turns blue and you know what that would accomplish? Nothing. Nothing at all except the moderate religious thinking atheists are pompous assholes who think we know everything. People like you are the reason I don't even use the "atheist" title cause is been ruined by you and all your pals screaming the only solution is science. You don't know what happens in the end, Robert up there doesn't know what happens in the end, I don't know what happens in the end. We think we do, we have ideas, but we won't know until it's time. So if religious folk want to be religious, let them.
@Robert The Viking You should understand though that it is misleading when a moderate religious person claims that it is the extremists who twist the faith. In reality it is the moderates who are unknowingly or even intentionally leaving things out of their holy books to make it seem better. Extremists follow it down to the last word. This is why I think fundamentalist is a more fitting label than extremist. That being said, I’m not anti-religion to where I think religion should not be allowed at all. I just would appreciate it if people were more transparent about their moral disagreements in their respective holy books rather than apologetically writing off those immoral verses with some fallacy. I also think that it is a contradiction to say that atheists are pompous if they question the validity of various religions when religious people respond as if they should be excluded from criticism. Last, science doesn’t claim to know the answer to what happens in the end. Most religions however do. The whole point of science is to back up ideas and discoveries with empiricism. Religion doesn’t do that.
@Egön Allegri lol what?? 😐 Have you even read the bible? Like REALLY read the bible? Quran and bible are cut from the same cloth.. Religion can be good (and as a satanist for the past 14 years.. that say something for me to say this) Religion should be kept at home, the problem comes when you want to force others unto your own views.. As said.. i've been a satanist for around 14 years now.. but i would never forcefeed MY way of viewing the world onto others.. If you come and ask... sure, i dont mind sharing .. But in MY world, religion should br some you yourself, actively go out and look for.. others shouldnt come to you
I think we need to remember when we talk about religious wars, and separate from political wars, we are ignoring the fact that religions ruled politics for milleniuns, so can we say for sure that political wars was't really religious wars too?
Most modern wars were and are purely secular. The only major religious conflicts happening now is infighting in the Middle East, different Muslim sects fighting other Muslim sects. The Israelis and the Palestinians, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and a smattering of others. Religious wars have mostly ended, the last big ones being hundreds of years ago. But I do believe that religion breeds conflict as it creates conflicts of interest.
I'm agnostic and a fan of a good deal of heavy music and a lot of this video makes me giggle but your willingness to give the stuff a shot and look at how it can fit into your lifestyle is something i find respectable 👍🏼
Steve Radonich III it’s not an excuse, it’s the catalyst. But you are right it is about power. Religion is also about power and control. Power over the human mind as a means of control.
I can’t argue that many have used religion for this purpose. Sad. This is one of the reasons they killed Jesus. Because he was taking the legalistic control away from the religious leaders at the time. He openly mocked them and called them “hypocrites” at least a dozen times in Mathew 23 alone.

@@enrott8560 The stuff they did during the Infinite Death era is now being viewed as disgusting by Thy Art now, especially with CJ as the newer frontman. He once stated live (I was there at that one concert) that they would not play any more songs of that time, because of the utter wrong message towards women. Van Rynn wrote some pretty nasty, dumb lyrics because of a breaking relationship with his ex and because of that he started to grow his misogynism. He also was addicted to hard drugs back then and drove the other band members mad because of his actions. That led to him being kicked out eventually.

The heart of man is wicked? All organisms are wicked and act on carnal desire and instinct, acting above those two things is our best bullshit hobby. The cure is going to be ourselves once we procreate and overcompensate our existence and pillage the resources out from dead soil. Or become so hopelessly addicted to disctracting ourselces that we inslave ourselves past a survival increment. Here is fact, were all the same whiny greedy babbling something that gives nothing seperates itself as a "demigod" organism but steal everything we know and love from other organisms and biochemical structures and environments. Our mood is basically chemical reactions to stimuli, in hindsight we control nothing but force orher organisms to adhere to our violent regimes desires and actions. And no god will be saving anyone from themselves, even a godess. We all eventually get killed or kill ourselves in the process of life, never to be saved from our death. The greatest illusion we run from is the narcicistic dilussion of gradeur that we hold as barely sentient chimpanzees with slower problem solving scores. That ant on the ground is no more valuble than the contents of my words or the beating in your chest. This is reality, the futile future failure leading to our fatality breeding tradgedy but never seeing killing for which to believe in ready to meet our end and destroy in name of creation in name imperfection left not breathing as our problems fill the ceiling never to meet a perfect being.
When in womb creatures only can understand are comprehend survival and quite possibly parental or simple ideas of love. Our perceptual identity and idiosyncrasies are projective qualities we observe and integrate from other organisms and environment. Hatred, violence, anger is all a later life concept. Probably a society thing i would predict. From the age of 6 or 7 you are placed into a environment and taught what is or isnt possible what you can and cannot think how you can suceed and how you can fail. Later on youll learn socialization, laws, social structures and ques. Every step of the way religion and the government teaches all of us who and what we are and whom to be. Your parents and friends accept ideas as they become culturally normal and things that are abnormal become ridiculed. Now the basis of these ideas were rotted in violent history of violent men of violent natures we wait for a savior or to die to be ourselves, in a society that makes the collection of rainwater a federal offense. Everything people fight for in their structured society are just meaningless distractions used to not see the impact we cause in our daily lives as walking death machines, ATMs corporate greed advertising ourselves to whatever will listen.

I cant always engage but I appreciate that you're trying to dialog with people. The Reality is Noone is truly "unbiased". We ALL have filters that we see the world. Some of the artists view of Christianity is skewed by misinformation and/or trauma. MJK, for example, is one who hates Christianity (so it seems) partly because of an experience. Thy Art is Murder seemed to be misinformed about the facts of war and spent energy focusing on a solution to the wrong problem. In my opinion. I'm only trying to not be the "stereotypical close-minded" Christian and help people navigate through these lyrics from my worldview. Remember this started out as an experiment for my youth group.
1. The proportion of wars/religious wars is not really relevant. If any war was religious, that is a problem. 2. Although you may not represent extremists, that does not mean that the scripture underlying your ideology isn’t shared with them to some degree. Otherwise you guys seem fairly reasonable
Mmmchutney during Old Testament commandments yes there's a killings.. David killed a lots of Palestine during his time since humanity were still few they were I think thousands of people killed by David and it was God's command.. But we're all in New Testament generation and we are living by the grace of God Jesus died for our sins.. That's all I read about the bible although I'm a protestant Christian but sometimes its hard to believe my faith..
reprobates trying to project their own evil onto God in the hope that will help them project divinity onto themselves. There is nothing in Scripture that leads to evil, but there are evil men who will believe any lie in the hopes it makes their shame over sin go away. That shame will not go away, it deserves to be there and it will only get worse eternally.
@@johannes7259 That's because Jesus was a good person, an exampe, but still christianity takes as example those who judge, kill, reign with violence and want hate towards people. Who are we to judge others? Ephemeral beings, that should try at least to be good people, despite our faith. If a good God really exist, sure most of the things written in Old Testament/Torah aren't words of a good God, but of hateful men. We kill each others blaming satan for bad things to happen, in name of 'our God' that we call with different names, depending on the religion. But we just do evil, hatred, we kill our brothers. The fact is Humanity isn't clever and open minded enough to have religions, thus it's better for us to just be good people, not caring if we sin or what, because the more we try to be religious the more we end being sinful. Just be a good people and see the different as a brother and not as an enemy. Doing this we improve our society and we make a better world were others live. Then maybe we go to heavens.

@@roberttheviking1553 would you consider yourself an agnostic?
@Egön Allegri lol what??

Have you even read the bible?

Quran and bible are cut from the same cloth..
Religion can be good (and as a satanist for the past 14 years.. that say something for me to say this)
Religion should be kept at home, the problem comes when you want to force others unto your own views..
As said.. i've been a satanist for around 14 years now.. but i would never forcefeed MY way of viewing the world onto others..
If you come and ask... sure, i dont mind sharing ..
But in MY world, religion should br some you yourself, actively go out and look for.. others shouldnt come to you

I think we need to remember when we talk about religious wars, and separate from political wars, we are ignoring the fact that religions ruled politics for milleniuns, so can we say for sure that political wars was't really religious wars too?
dude some countries (including my own) have religions and sects still part of, and deeply rooted, into the politics.

Most wars are not about religion. Most wars are about power. People use religion as an excuse for war to gain for themselves power.
Some would say religion is also about power.
It is against my Relationship to have religion. Christianity is about a personal relationship with God. It is not about religion.
@@stever.9929
A debunked viewpoint by the definitions of 'Christianity' and 'Religion' over simple Google searches. There's no relationship as that is a verbal tool used by Christians to try and separate themselves from other religions and to say, "Hey, look! We're somehow unique".
I'm not exactly religious (I was brought up in a Kentucky Pentecostal church) but I very much enjoy hearing your interpretation and thoughts of the songs. It's refreshing how open minded you are yet still grounded in your faith.

Yap.I am gonna say I am a Christian and I love Black Metal.
Love how he talks about how religion hasn't caused that many war, yeah sure, but the rest are for reasons that people decided were worth fighting for, religious wars were never for the benefit of anyone, they were not out of greed or other human desires, but we're just pointless.

Nobody has clean hands, all our ancestors argue just like us, slave to our advancement. Believe what you choose.
@Seth Amador it is true stalin commited murder, it is true unreligious bodies and congregations commit murder as well.
But burning educated women, selling people as sex slaves and turning citizens into sheep over a terribly written diachronic narrative, how delightful. Maybe father will make "love" to some children.
Go thump your mirage stories and project your own religion somewhere else, dogs that beckon stories and murder for old dudes just arent worth paying attention to.
If thats the best argument you have at the face of a world issue is to excuse the bloody hands by using others bloody hands as example? Please you cannot erase the sexist, racist cruelty that degredates the very meaning of being concious that is the profiteering puppet master, labeled religion directing our "moral compass" there is no divinity.
I said you may choose to believe whatever religion you so choose, if that was not taken in then clearly readressing a argument is out of your grasp and you should not be debating anything.
However stalin was a psychopath, he has about as much to do with religion as a inflatable sex doll.

I always enjoy these videos, as it is hard to find someone to have such an unbiased view coming into these music genres
Emo Weaboo you think these videos are unbiased views? Your sadly mistaken my friend. He may be open minded enough to listen to these songs, but by no means is it unbiased. He says at the beginning that he will put the perspective through a biblical filter. That is not unbiased.
@@socam1293 I understand that he may be putting the music through a biblical filter at the end. But he comes at the music without a premade opinion. THAT is what I mean by unbiased. If all you're gonna do is troll people's comments. You should find a life.
Emo Weaboo it’s not trolling. It’s called conversation, which you have engaged in by replying. If you think it’s trolling then don’t reply.
Emo Weaboo if someone wanted to have a conversation with you in person do you tell to stop trolling you. Didn’t mean to make you butt hurt over it. Relax, it’s just a conversation.
Emo Weaboo thanks for the original comment. I understood what you meant. So Cam, I enjoy your desire to discuss things. I've read a good portion of your comments.

Check out Nailed Dead Risen by Impending Doom. They are a Christian deathcore band. I think y'all would really like them.
1. The proportion of wars/religious wars is not really relevant. If any war was religious, that is a problem.
2. Although you may not represent extremists, that does not mean that the scripture underlying your ideology isn’t shared with them to some degree. Thy Art talks about the effect of scriptures and how they can manipulate people to do bad things. That is fundamentally a religious problem, regardless of how you interpret the texts.
We should stop to perceive wars as a time where it's okay to murder. That's the true holy war.
reprobates trying to project their own evil onto God in the hope that will help them project divinity onto themselves.
