These mechanical sounds are so satisfying. I loved my c4.
There really is something soothing about hearing those old electrics whirr and move. I love my C4 as well...The "tumbling" headlight action never gets old!
C4 corvette is my all time favorite!!! God I love that car!

Me too! The lights have that classic motor sound with a solid mechanical THUNK. Super satisfying.
Now that's kind of car video ı like. No loud and unnecessary talking, no super loud music.Only beautiful pop up headlights. I really like how they look. My favorite is probably RX-7 or NSX. They both look awesome. Ones on the C4 is really cool too. They do a 180 spin. Really unique. Not unique as the Cizeta but that thing is something else.

The 180-degree unique "tumble" of the C4 def influenced me towards getting one (my C4 is the silver one at the very end). I STILL enjoy watching them do their thing every time I hit the lights.
Although the four-headlighted Cizeta is truly the "king" of the pop up headlight cars!
@@RetroCarsForever Yeah ı know that Silver C4 is yours. I watched your other videos. İt's a good car. Sadly they're really expensive for some reason in here. Like ı only managed to find 2 for sale and one is 55K dolars and other one is 60k! No idea why but that's too much. C4 is a good car but it's not worth 60k.

My first car was a 1985 Honda Prelude. I loved those pop-up headlights!
The pop-up action of the early Prelude is one of my faves...Closes with a nice satisfying CACHUNK!
When I just tapped the button lightly on my 240SX, the pop-ups would open and close in one movement. At a stop sign, it was fun to see people giggle when I used it to signal them to go first. GREAT FUN!

Since i was a kid I have always thought pop up lights are cool, but I particularly like the 180 rotation of the c4 headlights. It's a bit more dramatic than simply up down.

Agreed…both those Preludes are exceptionally preserved. Showroom fresh and pretty low miles (70k I think?) Maybe the nicest in the country
Incredible video! Damn, I miss the 80s & 90s. Seeing all those cars gave me very inappropriate feelings...lol. I don't have a favourite car from this video (ok, ok, maybe the Testarossa), they all mean something to me. They are the legends of my youth.

Another great video. Love the classic pop up headlights. My 88 C4 needed new gears. The previous owner of my 92 already fixed my pop ups, no issues yet. But I don’t do a lot of night driving with it. My 2001 Trans Am had pop up headlamps and the motor failed in the one headlamp, but other than that… no issues. As far as night driving visibility, pop ups suck lol… but I love them for their nostalgia.

For the future, you've gotta find an FC RX-7, they have a unique mechanism where the light bulb itself stays vertical so that it can still shine through the flash-to-pass lenses in the bumper while the light cover body panels still function as normal pop ups, it's really cool!
Also the sideways roll of the Opel GT is pretty dope as well :)

And I LOVED filming the Testarossa. Of all the cars it had the quietest headlight sound, and I don't think I had any clue how they looked with their lights up, just not something I've ever seen in photos or anywhere else, so that was a treat to capture.

Coming back to this video to say it has motivated me to replace worn and broken parts in my pop up mechanisms for my Mazda Familia Astina to get rid of it's horrid squeak it used to make and now all I hear is the sound of the motors which is so much nicer

One of my first cars in the late 90s was a 2nd Gen. Ford Probe 24V and one of the big reasons buying that car...well pop-ups of course 😅 Now i own the best of them, a C4 😉
Nice! I love those Probes and almost got one in this video, my friend got a purple one but it had too many issues and so hard to fix.
C4 is a cakewalk to repair by comparison!

Missing my CE LT4 and 944S2. I’m nostalgic, favorite would be the Testarossa here and the 930 Turbo when it comes to flip ups, errr or maybe a Pantera.

I was at the gas station getting gas and when I finished and getting back into my 1994 C4 Corvette a guy was walking by and pointed to the front of my car about that time I turned on the headlights which popped up and he gave me the thumbs up!!!!

That poor light blue 300 ZX towards the end there sure could use some TLC to say the least bruh!!! Hands down the Corvette headlights seem to be the most long lasting, the moror's still good on the headlight mechanism. I vote to bring back a few models of supercars with pop-up n down 👇👎 headlights!!!👍👍💯💯
Heh, while it could use some lube on the headlight mechanisms, I do think that blue 300ZX is in decent shape for a $100 car!

@@joenewmark1513 I get it...While the C5 has a lot of improvements over the C4, there's a number of aesthetic changes with the C5 that I feel are downgrades (styling, no clamshell hood, and yep...less dramatic pop up headlights!)
Wonderfully edited...couldn't wipe the grin off of my face the entire time ... I have a soft spot for the 89 prelude Si, was my 1st man trans & 1st popup headlight machine and I adored it. Again beautiful six minutes and thirty two seconds worth of soft car porn. Bravo

@@RetroCarsForever haha amazing! I'll be honest my brother I'm not doing the niche thing despite algorithms. I'm just being me and doing my thing, which is pretty much everything. I'm trusting that by focusing on my audience, I'll expand horizons. Maybe it won't work out, but I've never been motivated by money. The channel will have clothing, costuming, training, camping, kids toys, sports cars, motorcycles, guns, movie props, and whatever else crosses my path. Once I'm more established I might niche down then. I guess at 44 I'm still finding myself haha. One of my three cars will be a KITT build! Almost as good as Airwolf! Great to speak with you! @@landrecce It's true, the UA-cam algorithm doesn't like when you make "random" stuff, it much prefers that you have one subject and stick to it.
But I'm with ya...If there's a video that I want to make that doesn't quite "fit," I'll still make it because I enjoy it (like the recent "No Time To Die" Bondcast I released). It might not reach a large audience but it was fun to make, so why not?

love the channel, been wanting a c4 now for awhile. Always been and always will be a honda guy, but now and then get an American v8 to play with. Ive had a dozen+ cool old hondas for daily's. Atm I've found my fav, an 03 acura cl type-s 6mt!! and an 07 tl type-s 5at for the wife, she finally got me to relent and get her an auto lol. Anyways keep up the good work!!!!

C4 headlights don't "pop up", they flip up, also why aren't there any Trans Ams?
REALLY wanted a Trans Am in this as well, but proved elusive. Invited a few to our canyon drive get togethers but they had last minute mechanical issues. Wanted to film one at Radwood but left too early before I got a chance! Ah well.
As for C4 lights, to me they qualify as "pop up" headlights because once deployed they are "popped up," even if they do more a tumbling action to get there.

The ugliest, in my opinion, had the Porsche 928. Do those frog eyes even count as pop-ups? 😅 But if you enjoy or even really like them thats totally okay, of course.
