It’s bc torchwood is a 15 and they didn’t what little kids that were watching doctor who to watch torchwood cuz torchwood is not family friendly where as doctor who is a Pg and it’s fine for a younger audience
"Indigo's top secret, no one's supposed to know about it" mentions the name herself. What was the point of that? If Jack didn't knew about it, he'd ask, and then she'd say "it's classified". So she just mentioned it to show off?
Yes, the early references to the face of Boe refer to BoeKind but we learn Jack is from the Boeshane Peninsula and based on what we see in his childhood flashbacks in Torchwood (won't spoil if you haven't seen) and the fact we're thousands of years in the future at those points it's understandable that something has probably happened to his home planet and he's become more myth and legend than fact. The reason for him becoming headless was never shown in the show but he was supposed to be the one beheaded at Demons Run but John Barrowmam was unavailable (due to Torchwood) hence Dorium got beheaded instead but Dorium still sold River a vortex manipulator most people assume to be Jack's so the Headless Monks beheading him fits and we know the heads survived anyway but with his immortality his head continued to grow over the next few thousand years, that isn't a stretch. Hope this makes sense!

although we, not necessarily, claim that it’s a great show, its warmth and the feelings that’s been conveyed to us makes it special. like, not the best show, but the show I like most. that being said, moffat episodes are mostly pretty awesome objectively and tennant and capaldi’s actings are top-notch.

Few people claim the acting on Star Trek was award winning and yet shows like Trek & Dr Who have captivated audiences for generations. They appeal to the Imagine Nation.
For Classic Who, one has to remember teeny budget and kids show, essentially. For NuWho, better budget, but still kid friendly by British standards. When the show started, like Star Trek, there wasn't much in the way of sci fi on TV. The characters caught the audience, Dr. Who gave us the Daleks and ST gave us Spock ... and the beat goes on .. Now, you can't turn around without bumping into sci fi but these were the forerunners, the reason we got all the rest. Well, and maybe Rod Serling ... The high points of which there are many, get us through the "wait ... what?" and the "really, that rubber suit seemed like a good idea as a monster?"
