@Max S cylinder usually isn't what you replace unless damaged. For trail riding I recommend changing the Piston out at 70-80 hours, but if your more track riding style I recommend changing out the Piston at 50-60 hours.
You can definitely tell it's not as explosive as the Yz but it's also more useable and controllable. It's a very nice bike I love the Huskies super stoked for you.
Thanks for the ride....I can't ride anymore, age, knees, carpal n arthritis. Couldn't hold on unless ya glued me to the bike. Lol... My last bike was a Husqvarna 250 XC '82. It was a beast but I loved that bike. Take care n enjoy that wonderful bike!
I had a SX250 2019.. amazing fun bike to ride.. i have some small tips.. 3 things I can recommend you to replace&do1: pipe and muffler to get a little longer register to rev on. I had Pro circuit with the 304 muffler ... not shorty 2: V-force 4 reed much better respons 3: make holes in the side plastic so it can get more air :)
My dream bike is a husky 85tc. Cuz DAYUMM things look amazing and perform amazing ! Maybe some day when I’m older and have some extra money saved up I can get a husky!😍
I have a 17 250sx and prior to that an 06 YZ250, I didn't think you could get anything better than the YZ until I got my KTM. Both are amazing bikes but two different animals, I agree 100% with how you describe them. I have never owned a 450 but I've gotten a few opportunities to ride them and I've never been impressed with how much more the 450's have over the 250 2 strokes especially the 17+ KTM/Husky motors.
I’m pretty sure you know this but this is a low to mid engine an does it quick the yz250 is a mid to top an revs just a bit farther also the power comes in a lot different because how the yz doesn’t have that power value type system that the husq has, but have you ever adjusted the power value on this I can see this difference from this video an the other on the yz250 I’m not sayin you need to adjust it cause the way the powerband comes on looks fine, but anyways have you ever adjusted it ?
Zach I had an 84 WR400 an she was a beast!! It ran right with my 85 model honda CR500... An my husqvarna had a super smooth power band an was very controllable... I could put thru the woods... Or if was playing on a track.... If I wanted power all I had to do was twist the throttle... So why should there newer bikes be any different... Literally run against your buddy on your yz an your 450 an switch from one to the other an that will give ya a good idea of power an handling differences...
I would love to see some 3rd person videos or clips i think it makes a huge difference to how you think someone rides because its what you would see if you are at the side of the track watching
Have both tc250 05 n a wr250f 04 ..both super bike ..and a KTM 300exc 2 smoker..for the really tight n tough stuff but gotta say the maintenance on Yamaha can't be beat
Wish I saw this when the video was new, I'm sure you've found this out by now, but you adjust the power valve to give a more gnarly power band or a softer power band, in other words you can make it hit alot more like a yz250
There is a screw on the side to adjust the power valve it should be all the way in from factory. Screw it almost all the way out and hold on tight it will feel better than the yz and come on strong.
Im a Mexican rider and I've gotten to ride on 3Palms, awesome track. I'm very interested on switching back to motocross and buying a TC250, I'm between this and a YZ250f... I cant seem to decide! Hahahahha
Install the red PV spring and back the PV adjust out to flush then turn in 1 full revolution, that's where I run my 300 and all my KTM/Husq 2t's and have found that's where they hit the hardest and the longest. IMO, far more pull than any YZ I've owned..
@@nissan_6828 think about it, if u are enginebreaking, youre not giving it gas and only the gasoline of the idle gets into the cylinder and burns, so if u higher up your idle, more gasoline and more oil gets into the cylinder while engine braking
Mid level weekend warrior, 43, having had FC350 so far and felt good on it. Can anyone comment, if the TC250 power(band) is more or less the same as FC350? I'm planning a new bike soon, TC250 is an option, but I'm afraid, that it is a bit too powerful.I'm not competeing, just having fun over the weekends. I'm 184cm and 83kg.
I’ve never ridden one, but from what I know they’re quite good, they also have settings on how the powerband works or something like that, lets you adjust the hit, but it’ll feel a lot different to a 4 stroke man, as long as you have fun, you should get it
A yz is a different style bike. Made for motoX. Husky, ktm, & gasgas specialize in enduros for tight single track rough terrain. You take a yz on a single track you'll see why no one has 1 for that application.
Yo do realise you can adjust the power valve with different springs and can preload the springs or take tension of to get that hit that you want way better bike then the yz250
hey, im wondering about one thing, i heard people say that you can go up and down with gears without clutch, is that safe on dirtbike? i try on mine and it is easy, the bike is yamaha yz450f 2009
You can shift without the clutch as long as you’re not on power, but the safest way to play it is at least give the clutch a slight pull when you shift
@@zachdavis3974 ty for answer, as i see 450 is not realy a bike to start with but, it is fun one, the power and the bike is so low on weight, been riding 3 years on road now, for road i have now honda vt750 '08 and so far i think dirt is more fun than any road bike(can not ride during winter here because of weather only dirt=})
U can shift up without clutch even engaging but dont shift down without clutch it fucks up your bike so bad and you cant even tell, but yes u can shift up without clutch but dont be giving it throttle but I repeat do not shift down without the clutch

Congrats on the bike man that thing is so sick. Also where is this track at? It looks so dope I’d love to rip there!! Best regards from a new fan in Cali!
You mentioned the power band is smoother and doesn’t come on until after a turn. Is it possible to swap those bands out for the yz ones? I’m not sure how many bands are in an engine but maybe keep half of the husqvarna ones in and the other half use Yamahas power bands? My neighbor’s cousin has an rm 125 with rm 250 power bands in it. It’s so fast. So maybe you have to keep the same manufacturers power bands.
Man, you wanted a yz250, you got scammed and ended with a yz125. Now you wanted something similar and ended with a huskqvrna which you mentioned feels very different. You can’t seem to get a break lol (both the yz125 and tc are badass bikes btw, just think it’s funny how you always end with something you weren’t expecting)
Too bad you never showed the bike and bragged on its features. How much did it cost? I don't know one person who has a dirt bike now. when new bikes where around a thousand dollars I knew lots of people who rode and raced. I figure the cost of new bikes and the limited places you can legally ride kind of killed the sport.
You're comparing an enduro to a motocross bike. That's the difference. Ktm, huskys, & gasgas specialize in enduros made for tight technical terrain. Not wide open track. They make way better trail bikes. Take a yz on a single track with an enduro & itll do nothing but stall.
KTM and Husky specialise in both Motocross and enduro bikes.. SX/TC is Moto.. EXC/TE is enduro. It's a bit odd saying they make much better enduro bikes considering they've won multiple World GP and AMA Motocross/Supercross championships. The difference with the Yz is it hasn't really been updated since 2006.. although they're great bikes (I ride a 17 yz125 at the minute) you can't compare them to the latest KTM/husky.
250 2 strokes are amazing! I recently got a yz250 and it rips!

A complete compression stroke is made in half the time of your 450, so it just stands to reason power is made quicker.

KTMs and Husqvarnas are basically the same bikes
Yes they do only major difference is the airbox I believe.
