I prefer not spending a lot on the CPU since performance fluctuates a ton. I'm currently using a 7600 and 4070Ti but a i3-12100F would've been just fine.
@@Jaykurosakii I would probably not upgrade your PC, it seems plenty fast, but it depends on what you want. All I can say for sure is that the 14th gen is essentially just a reskin of 13th gen. If I went Intel myself I would've probably gone for the i3-12100F, an incredible CPU for the price.
@@aidrianpatullo598 i initially got the 6750XT but i found a really good deal for a 7700XT (350€ new) and swapped ot with that just today, so far im pretty happy. Im still messing with settings and all, i want to try to overclock the 7600X and see of I have enough cooling for it. Do you have an aio or air cooler?
But the motherboards you'd usually bundle with this CPU usually aren't that future proof. All A620 MBs and some B650 MBs don't support PCIE 5.0. Those that do support it are often very expensive.
That's what I went with. It pulls less wattage, the performance difference isn't crazy, it costs less. I was planning on the 6950xt but I went with the 7900gre because it pulls 150w less and has better rt cores. Nit only will the pc be cheaper overall, but it's also going to cost less to run it. I did get an 360mm AIO for the cpu, but it was from MSI on sale for $85. I got the Antec C5 case, which comes with 7 fans already. If I got more fans and a beefier cooler to maintain said longevity due to lower temps, I would have spent more in the end.
7600X was one of the best CPUs i had, because, 5.150ghz at 1.1v 😮, temps were insane! RAM support was easy 6400mts, 3200mc and fclk 3200, Gear 1 mode, manual timings too! With the same RAM and 7800x3d i couldnt do the same frequency (6200mts max)... So! LOVE 7600X and i saw a little worst performance when changed to 7800x3d (my gpu is rtx3090)! So - best price/performance CPU in market, i had 13500 too and 7600x is better! Less power usage and better performance ❤
I got it as a placeholder until I could afford 7800x3d but I actually kept it. It performs great for 200$. I could get a x3d in the next gen or gen after that even, it will last me a while.
Honestly, makes sense to me being able to future proof your gaming PC to the point where you can upgrade it and have it for a little bit longer really does help out with the budgeting.
I bought the 7600x when it was about $20 cheaper than the regular 7600 and have been happy ever since, bought like a $60 aio since it didn’t come with a stock cooler (aio for personal aesthetic preference)
Got a R5 7600x for the PC I'm in the process of building right now. Will have everything except the GPU this week, and plan to get a RX 7600 XT for the GPU when that releases. My first all AMD build after having Intel/NVIDIA my whole life.
The base level 7600 is perfect for a mini-ITX build. It has a low power draw of 65w which means it doesn't get hot and you can play games on full settings with just stock cooling. I got a 7600 sitting in an A620 mini-ITX motherboard with a amd 6650 gpu. The a620 saves me money compared to the a650, because its the same board but the a620 is CPU throttled at 90w, which means the 7600x (which runs at 105w) wouldn't be getting enough juice on the a620 to meet full performance, but the regular 7600 runs just perfectly. Managed to save myself a substantial chunk of money by getting the 7600+a620 combo - cheaper mobo, no need for a CPU cooler. My GPU is the 6650, which is a little underpowered, but I game at 1080p and if I need to I can upgrade without difficulty. Couldn't recommend this setup enough, my rig is really efficient, small, stays cool, and not overpriced.
The 7800x3d is the best gpu on the market for gaming will last for years and it has a extremely good price going for only 360 on amazon rn but performs on par with 5-600 dollar cpus from from intel and amd
it's only a good option for "first world countries", in my country it costs around 320~350$, which is above the minimum monthly salary (~300$) that more than 50% of the population doesn't make.
This helps a lot since I'm considering what to get for my pc, Right now, I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and the RX 5600XT And its amazing however some games I play are quite demanding and im lucky to play them at almost max graphic at 60 or slightly over 60fps, plus I do love my quality and performance plus games getting more demanding I'm considering upgrading and passing these parts down to my sister since she wants a computer over a laptop. This is a great recommendation and very informative. If anyone else has any suggestions, im open to them.
If only I can wait until the Ryzen 5 9600X comes out, maybe it could be better than buying a R5 7600 since 9000 series got more performance than 7000 series Not sure if I'll wait until launch day or beyond since i plan to get a new pc build
Newegg was running a special with a free set of ddr5 with purchase of a r5 7600x…sorry for those of you who missed out because this made the choice very easy for me
Considering how long it took me to updgrade from my old i5 7600K, I honestly think I'll end up keeping my new CPU until both AMD and Intel has updated beyond AM5 and whatever 15th gen will be on. So I'm happy with my i7 14700K for now, my new bottleneck is my PSU and GPU (650W and RTX 2070), which I'll probably upgrade after summer.
As an owner and former R5 7600 non x user, it’s a great cpu. Only had one issue with it. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get it to launch red dead 2. When I swapped to the R7 7800x3d and only that swap, the game launched perfectly. Don’t know what the deal was but I tried for months to open the game with that damn cpu and couldn’t get it to launch. Every single other thing about the cpu was A++++ I feel it’s better than the 7600x as with pbo it can get the same speeds as the x
I got mine for 194 on Amazon. To be honest, best processor for the money. It’s all you need for gaming. And it stays super cool! Mine hasn’t surpassed 50c while gaming. ( I am using deepcool ls520 240mm aio)
So you have metal plate on the cpu then a radiator/heatsink right. So the huge heat sink makes dispersing heat very easy. The liquid is cycled from above the plate on the cpu to the huge heatsink. That heatsink is being cooled by air so as the liquid goes through it the liquid is cooled. The liquid then is cycled back above the cpu plate where it cools the cpu down. Then the warm liquid is cycled back up repeating that loop for as long as it’s going
AM4 got 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 (even if it's just a refresh of the 3000 series) and 5000 series, without counting 6000 being mobile exclusive so it doesn't go in a desktop socket, AM5 will most posibly have 7000, 8000, 9000, 10000 and 11000 series, 5 generations just like AM4
It's good enough and it's cheap. If you consider 5800X3D some kind of holy grail, this is literally it in gaming minus some edge cases like Factorio. Even better if you can import 7500F cheaply from China - same thing, much cheaper.

as a proud owner of a RX 6900xt and 7600x, i can confirm theres no driver issues on AMD, infact 2 of my friends that own a nvidia both have a problem with their drivers
Hey Zach, i just covinced my parents to let me build a pc it has a 5600x and an rx 6600. Which monitor should i get?
also nice vid
Just get a 144 HZ hdmi 2.1 gaming pc as the rx 6600 is compatible with hdmi 2.1
Personally you should get a 165 hz koorui monitor but that's just me because it's a great value performance monitor
@@RejectOnYT im using a 60hz oldone right now and get 200+ fps in fortnite though.
I also have an rx 6600, I would recommend a 1080p 144hz monitor since the rx 6600 is a great 1080p card and it can handle 144hz
shall we talk about the ryzen 3600
Formerly the best future proof price to performance king but am4 is pretty much a dead socket now and the 3600 dropped in like 2019. AM5 entry prices are lower now and has years of upgrade path room. I know cause I just made an am5 build for myself and it’s awesome, not too expensive
@@Aerandrewno? AMD just showed off 4 new 5000 series CPUs. They'll be released at the end of this month.
I recently switched from console gaming to PC and went with the 5 7600x paired with a 4060ti 16gb and 32gb of ddr5 ram, must say, mighty impressed with how it handles games!
I did the the same only difference is i have the 7700XT and im very satisfied. In a way it makes me even more impressed with how optimized consoles are but i def wont play any shooter on console again lol
@@ArdaSReal Shooting games sucks on Consoles ngl lol, still remember how sweaty I was playing CoD, MGS, and RE4 on PS 2 as a kid
@@dalrend7413 if youre used to it and thats all you know you still can have loads of fun and nowadays someshooter are even better on controller. But overall a mouse is a must have for shooters, thankfully mnk is also often supported in console now
Thanks for recomending this it helps ALLOT for me a new pc builder
i think you and tech source should have a boxing match to see who the greatest technician to ever live is
“Most games are dependent on GPU” while that is partially true. Many AAA games require a good, not decent CPU. Not to mention that when you play smaller titles, with my i7 13700k and 3070ti I’m bottlenecked by the game engine 99% of the time.
I prefer not spending a lot on the CPU since performance fluctuates a ton. I'm currently using a 7600 and 4070Ti but a i3-12100F would've been just fine.
@@zoopa9988I have a 12700k with a 4080 rn but idk if I should upgrade to 13th or 14th gen. I only paid $200 for my cpu
@@Jaykurosakii13th gen and 14th gen are basically the same performance wise, get whatever is cheapest.
@@frespects9624 alright I’ll prob get 13600kf or 13700kf when they get heavily discounted again (prob around end of year)
@@Jaykurosakii I would probably not upgrade your PC, it seems plenty fast, but it depends on what you want. All I can say for sure is that the 14th gen is essentially just a reskin of 13th gen. If I went Intel myself I would've probably gone for the i3-12100F, an incredible CPU for the price.
love that this came up while i was looking to upgrade lol
literally watched this immediately after building a pc with a ryzen 5 7600
Same but i got 7600X, funny how i get so much pc content right after building one
@@ArdaSReal what gpu did you get? I got a 7600xt, was debating between that and the 4060 but I went with the 7600xt for the much higher V-RAM
Those that do support it are often very expensive.
most b650s do- and there's not that big of a price difference between a620 and b650.
The only GPU that gets a minimal bottleneck on PCIE 3.0 is the 4090. We're like 3-4 GPU generations away from needing PCIE 5.
GPUs wont even need 5.0 for years to come and b650 with pcie 5.0 arent that expensive in my experience, mine has it
That's what I went with.
Nobody is fooled, MJF.
Thanks bro your advice is working for us 😊
Hes gonna name the next newborn "7600"
Also, the 7800X3D is also a great gaming component which supports 40 Series RTX (60, 70, 80, 90 TI)
I got the ryzen 5 7600x at micro center for 209 and it was a steal I’m gonna pair it with 7800xt any other graphics card recommendations
I’ve got the 7600x and its perfect my dad even bought one for his pc
5 7600X will be my next CPU with a RX 7900 GRE
I bought the 7600x when it was about $20 cheaper than the regular 7600 and have been happy ever since, bought like a $60 aio since it didn’t come with a stock cooler (aio for personal aesthetic preference)
@Tetsujinmustdie got mine blackout, I hate rgb lmao
Listen to this guy, I’m having to upgrade from a 9th gen intel mobo and I’m going with am5 and a ryzen 5 7600 for future upgrade availability
Best advice IV seen from u
I bought this cpu last year april on my birthday. Feels good seeing it was a good choice for gift to myself
Got a R5 7600x for the PC I'm in the process of building right now. Will have everything except the GPU this week, and plan to get a RX 7600 XT for the GPU when that releases.
My first all AMD build after having Intel/NVIDIA my whole life.
I got a 12th gen intel back when that was the new gen so I have a solid upgrade path for the time being
Me with a 2nd gen 😭 (i5 2500k)
Bro most people littrally forget to updrade cuz as long as the cpu perform well no one cares.
Or just the the 7700x bundle from micro center if you live next to one. It’s like $360 and you get a 3-1 combo. CPU, mobo and ram.
The 7800x3d is the best gpu on the market for gaming will last for years and it has a extremely good price going for only 360 on amazon rn but performs on par with 5-600 dollar cpus from from intel and amd
This is good advice. This is why I got it.
it's only a good option for "first world countries", in my country it costs around 320~350$, which is above the minimum monthly salary (~300$) that more than 50% of the population doesn't make.
What do you think about rysen 5 5600X?
I’m planning to buy this but still looking for better parts.
Love ur videos!
If only I can wait until the Ryzen 5 9600X comes out, maybe it could be better than buying a R5 7600 since 9000 series got more performance than 7000 series
Not sure if I'll wait until launch day or beyond since i plan to get a new pc build
"For a gaming pc" famous last words of Zach
Newegg was running a special with a free set of ddr5 with purchase of a r5 7600x…sorry for those of you who missed out because this made the choice very easy for me
right now on Amazon its at $189 which is a bit more cheaper than shown here
I plan to upgrade eventually but i currently have a ryzen 7 5700g with an RTX 3070
You say that but for all we know am5 can go easily for another 8 years...
It was the cheaper AM5 available when I tried to go DDR5. Came with stock cooler and it was still pretty good, it was hard to not consider it.
By the time I'll need an upgrade all the other systems will be obsolete. That is why I don't worry about an upgrade path!
totally agree. am5 is the new am4 for the next 5-7 years lol . im in love with 7600x currently
I am also in deep love with the r5 7600!
Can you please convince my parents that I want to become music producer but they want me to become engineer
I just don't know what to do
When i was Young, with an ryzen5 the BEST graphics card you could use with ryzen 5 was gtx 1650😢
I just paired a r5 7600x with a rx 7900xtx, works great.
Bro no-one is remembering that late 2024 intel is coming out with there new socket😂
Proof dumb questions can n will b asked!!!💯💯💯
Best gpu for i3 10105f
I want it for my data science studies
Motherboard: Asus Prime H510M-E
I got a 7700x for $95. Thank you microcenter bundles.
R5 7600x here love mine to bits
It would be great if it was in my budget
AM5 for at least 2027 promised ...but probably way longer than that. That's nice
I probably won’t even be on 15th gen by the time it’s socket is dead 🤣 I’m still in 12th, thinking about going to 13th soon but I’m chilling for now
My 2600 stays strong waiting for 20000 series
I got mine for 194 on Amazon. To be honest, best processor for the money. It’s all you need for gaming. And it stays super cool!
Mine hasn’t surpassed 50c while gaming. ( I am using deepcool ls520 240mm aio)
I got my 7800x3D for $198 from Micro Center on a bundle deal last last month lol
Yea the last time I upgraded ONLY cpu in my PC it was when I upgraded Celeron 300 to Celeron 533 in Slot1 ...
Ooh no 😭😭 I just bought a Z-790 I didn’t know intel was changing the socket for the next gen 😢
Can you explain how a liquid cooler works? Thanks
@@malaki4519 thanks for describing that that make a lot of sense now.
Even though 7600 comes with it own cooler, it is still recommended to buy a replacement cooler, even if it's a cheap air tower cooler.
I use a Ryzen 7 5800X cpu with a Geforce GTX 1660 Ti from the 1800s (😂). I'm upgrading to an RTX 4070 today.
It's good enough and it's cheap. If you consider 5800X3D some kind of holy grail, this is literally it in gaming minus some edge cases like Factorio. Even better if you can import 7500F cheaply from China - same thing, much cheaper.
On first I'd tought you are CM Punk 😂
Amd I must say is a great way of learning how to build your own first pc
I plan on building my first pc I do have a budget any recommendations for parts
Ryzen 5 7500F or 7600 or 7600x?
Even though I knew I high end card wasn't in my budget I went with a 7700x combo from micro center for my build for that exact reason at some point in the near future I will get a newer better card looking at the 4070 ti super or waiting for the battlemage cards when they come out
