As someone experiencing mad insomnia & withdrawal from having just quit tobacco, I must say, this yoga practice really helped me level out. Big ups form Canada at 3:48AM !!!
Deepest thanks for the time and knowledge you have put into these classes, Tim. I slipped down some stairs about 15 months ago, dislocated a shoulder and severely bruised the outside of my hip. It has been a long recovery, but with this 30 day course I can actually feel muscles I was unconsciously avoiding begin to turn on again and rebuild. My posture and balance are safely returning, which makes me incredibly happy. Gichi miigwech miinwaa :-)
Great class. Sometimes you use some extra tools for the class like blocks or a band. A tiny tip, Tim. It is good to tell what tools will be used for the practice at the beginning of the class. So that your students/viewers can prepare properly for the class. Many thanks for these great videos :)

I'm fitting in this practice today just before bed. I taught yoga today, and found myself reasonably tired. The standing balances were a lot for my lower back at this time of day and I practiced at a higher angle so I wasn't at 90 degrees. It was nice to move slowly, listen to my body - and feel the progression of this challenge - feeling the foundational poses from last week building into this standing balance work. Thanks Tim, for your pacing, sequencing it's giving me a lot of tips for my fundamentals class. Take care all!

So so yummy! A light bulb turned on when you talked about the outside glute in balancing poses. I always had a hard time not dumping my weight just slightly into the standing leg/hip and focusing on those muscles really helped! Thank you Tim, Namaste!

Oh my! What happened between day 9 and day 10. This class felt exhausting! Stepping back and forward from Utkatasana was really challenging and all the work on balancing and standing in "Warrior III" required lots of energy and power. Thanks a lot. I guess I'm going to sleep well tonight! Not sure if I'll be able to practice this week end :-( But I'll do my best!
this was a lot for the outer hips, low back and pelvis - make sure to stretch the hips, gluten and low back probably tomorrow morning - and before bed. I'm going to ... I know I'll be sore. Take care, Katie
Really liked this class. I love the balancing work, even/especially the simple standing on one leg. It helps bring awareness to areas of weakness. I would love even more tips and direction on mountain pose. I often feel like I'm using the wrong muscles just to stand in my daily life (using my glut max to support/protect my lower back, and never quite sure about how my pelvis should tilt, and if I should be focusing on abs, legs, back, or what for good, strong posture).
Hi bexamcca - for mountain pose you want to feel samasthiti - equal standing - everywhere in the body - pressing down, reaching up, pressing outward from the feet, and lifting inward with the inner line of the leg. Reaching the inseams of the arms, and letting the sternum lift our of the pelvis. A slight lift at the pelvic floor - and feel into what Tim taught us in the first couple classes - finding that neutral pelvis. - Hope that helps, Katie

Hello! I have been following your videos for a while, and I always have trouble with balance. I was once told it could have to do with the fact that I have flat feet (like super flat). Could that be the issue? And what tips or exercises would you recommend for someone like me? You're an excellent teacher, thanks for all the good stuff.
