    This is such a gorgeous plant! The leaves remind me of a hoya. Great video!

      Hey, yes, you are right. :) It is next to my hoyas, and the leaves are absolutely like hoya leaves, especially the veins. By the way, I love your videos 💜🪴

    I got this plant as a gift and i totally hated it it spread all over my cables, my curtains, between ALL MY OTHER PLANTS and I have quite a lot of them.. it got between places i cant reach forcing me to painfully rip it out of these places making me feel like a monster.. I Just gave it a little trim and thanks to you and your idea of the growing sticks in the end I know how to properly manage it in the future and I may even start liking it 💕thank you so much!

      What you describe is a dream to so many of us! 💚💜 I assume you live in an ideal climate for these plants. In some countries they even grow aerial roots. Unfortunately, not with me. They grow, but it's not very humid for them.

      @@AnnasViolets that is quite weird to be true..because our summers are very dry and hot and our winter is very moist and cold! 😁It was doing fantastic in the summer/autumn. So far I haven't noticed new growth since I cut it !

    I have a south facing bay window and I put a couple screw-in hooks at the top corners, then tied a piece of twine from one hook to the other. My stephanotis grew straight up one side and along the twine and once it grew too long I turned it back to go the opposite way on the twine until now it's about 4 stems back and forth. It also kind of drapes down and looks really pretty framing the top of the lace curtained bay window.

      That's a very good idea, Leslie! 💜 I am still struggling to find the best shape for mine. It is growing climbing up the sticks and then grows down the sticks, and up again, but without any specific shape. I'm even thinking of letting it grow just hanging...

      @@AnnasViolets I'm not so clever. I got my idea from how I saw it growing naturally at a house I was renting in Hawaii. Up from the dirt and along the top of a wooden fence.

      @@AnnasViolets Another fragrant flower of the Hawaiian islands is the puakenikeni. It's also used as a lei flower and is considered a tree but can be kept pruned to a small shrub. And the more you pick the flowers, the more it produces. A shrub with flowers that are either yellow, pink, or orange depending on the flower's maturity. Would be a lot easier to manage than the jasmine vine.

    Yes, I do the same, on top, Obi has at least in Vienna, always a stand with papers where one can wrapp the plants if too cold, this one I received though and I guess it was not too thoughtfully transported. Of course I am subscribed, ever since you took my fear of growing Zygopetalums at home away. I have three and they are thriving, because of the amount of trust your video on the subject gave me. :-)

      Respectfully, i disagree. I have thrown my stephanotis under the shower with full blooms and flower buds on and not a single one dropped. They did all drop the first time i brought the flower in the house. This is normal because the plant senses the abrupt change in environment and has to preserve energy. The most important bit is repotting it correctly. And whatever frame you think you need. Make it double the size 😅

    Hi! While I was reading my book about proper care of houseplants I found the tip that you shouldn't move your plant to another place or even rotate it. If you do so, it's likely to loose all of its flower buds. I'm quite confused because you didn't mention it in your video. Can you tell me if that's right?

  • @lotusflower4u
    @lotusflower4u 2 роки тому +2

    I lost one doing exactly that, transplant shock. Would be glad to know how to re-pot it without affecting it too much. I have a new one which I got in February of this year, it was blooming, funny, in February. Now she's sort of happy but stagnant. Once it was brought home, in less than a week, she lost all her flowers. I guess she was transported in the cold.
    I can see the sponge around its roots, which for orchids at least, it's not the best thing. I don't know what to do here. Awaiting your video about re-potting.

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Adina, yes, transporting them when it's cold and they are in buds can definitely affect the flowers. If I plan to buy a plant in cold weather, I carry paper bags with me and cover the plants even if it's only from the store to the car. I'll try to post the other video about repotting soon. :) Thanks for watching. Please subscribe, if it was useful. :)

    Hi! Are the brown bumpy spots on the stem normal? My plant got quite some of them, and I thought it had scale infestation, but now that I saw them on your plant too, I'm a little confused.

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  Рік тому +1

      Hi Sezin, if you try to crash the bumps, there will be some sort of liquid coming out under it and you would see that it's a pest. If by crashing a scratch on the stem appears, then it's not a scale.
