Worked perfectly fine! Thanks for the tutorial, although the the repair kit is helpful but not necessary. I only used the bushing itself and a pair of pliers and compressed it back into place.
There are two ends to the shift cable: one at base of shifter (interior cable); and one at end of cable at transmission (exterior end). The easiest way is to disconnect shift cable and inspect the bushing it may be worn; gone or broken. Feel free to email us at ascensioneng@gmail.com with your year make and model and we can assist in selecting the correct kit. As well on our websites instruction page there are more detailed step by step instructions per kit. I've provided it here: www.bushingfix.com/instructions/
Took my car to transmission place and told nothing wrong with it, but I keep loosing the ability to go in gear. Changed the strainer and added fluid (it was low). It's worse now I can't drive 30 feet withoutit not staying in gear. Would this part cause this to happen? 2008 Chevy uplander
Nancy here is an easier way to know if this is the culprit: have someone one disconnect the cable at tranny end.....inspect the bushing in cable. Is it worn? cracked? partial missing? Feel free to email us at ascensioneng@gmail.com. What you have described for shops is an intermittent failure and if they cannot duplicate they just cannot put in the hours to search for it! And at those rates YOU wouldn't want them to either!
Sorry about that! WE are seeing that many of our earlier vids are getting quieter! Here's a link to both video and written step by step instructions: www.bushingfix.com/up1kit-1/
