I was lucky enough to have John Singleton as my professor at USC & this man drops constant knowledge.
John Singleton is a legendary director!!!
"Boyz N The Hood"
"Poetic Justice"
"Higher Learning"
"Rosewood"
"Shaft" Remake
"Baby Boy"
"2 Fast 2 Furious"
"Four Brothers"....
Enuff said. Him & Spike Lee gave us great perspectives of raw life, struggles & overcoming adversity in the Black community.
mikedabeast360 I never knew he did Rosewood...r u talkin about the movie or the tv show ?
I really don't understand why there has to be a put down of another in order to praise one.
Stay Alert Stay Alive
The movie with Ving Rhames, Jon Voight, Esther Rolle, Don Cheadle, Elise Neal, Michael Rooker. Vanessa Baden from "Gullah Gullah Island", "Kenan & Kel" & James Edward Coleman II also from "Gullah Gullah Island".
jayblack3c3
I like Spike Lee too. I just prefer John Singleton as a better director/producer.
Yea I love and hate that movie at the same time..I never knew John Singleton was the director tho..that's wussup
RIP John Singleton. Damn man, this one hurts.
TempeSoldier123 Such a nice guy too. 😓😓
@@moniquemitchell5092 Did you ever meet him?
'Boyz N The Hood' is a classic! He's the youngest person to be nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards and the first African American. This man reached a high feet at a young age. The library of Congress deemed his film 'culturally significant' and selected it for preservation. Respect forreal, man
SchwagDotCom he beat Orson Wells by 2 years! And it was for Citizen Kane too. That ain't no easy feat.
SchwagDotCom high feet?? You mean *Feat? Lol smh
People really try and forget how great John Singleton is like he is a legend.
Isaiah Watson who?
Isaiah Watson YES
except me son
Tupac is so popular that if someone knew him and is being interviewed you gotta ask them.
Last Ronin lol yeah basically it's sort of his legacy he left
Last Ronin that's also because he is dead.
Legends never die
+Real times exactly
Last Ronin the g.o.a.t.
RIP John
Thank you for giving us movies such as Poetic Justice and many more

seanvcpd bless you
I agree, but still. Tupac.
Damn this interview opens with him foreshadowing Nipsey's death without even knowing it. Geeez.
Wow! You're right!
That’s the first thing I thought when he said it.

Rip John Singleton January 6, 1968 - April 29, 2019
Method Man is actually a unheralded actor
Truth B. Told I was just about to say that. he is a really good actor. I'm surprised he hasn't done more movies.
yeah he also acts a little bit in music videos. Like that one beanie joint where he was the detective. I would love to see meth get back to silver screen. I mean he can hold his own that's for sure.
Truth B. Told he is in the series Rebel love him in this check it out
I mean, you'd think someone named the Method Man would be a decent actor?
The red and Meth show was my shit
I think John Singleton has more classics than Spike Lee .... they both great.
Isaiah Watson if it wasn't for him there will be no Friday!!!
***** uhh that was F. Gary Gray
Isaiah Watson ok
Isaiah Watson he's saying that because john Singleton is the one who made ice cube wanted to produce Friday
thatlsk Just commenting MY thoughts. Have a nice day.
He opened the doors for many.. Rest In Power
john singleton is a genius I cannot wait to see his new work.
R.I.P to the VISIONARY John Singleton 🙏🙏🙏
Great Interview y'all been on fire lately with a lot of great interviews & content!!
Envy: So explain to the people who may not know who exactly Is Tupac
Allure Cap that's actually a good question, seeing that this generation is so lost.
Marrow Morrison If you in hip hop and you don't know about one of the biggest stars in the industry, then you got to be a real dumbass. It's almost hard to NOT know who PAC is. He's always mentioned somewhere.
KingRocco Alot of this new generation know who pac is but don't know his music or what he was about
word right @ Marrow Morrison lol
Hang up the Envy jokes. It's over. The joke died in 2015.
RIP John Singleton a legend with classics Boyz N The Hood Poetic Justice Higher Learning Baby Boy
my man got that morning attitude low key
Gat Gatlin 😂😂😂😂I thought I was the only one who was thinking that
Dj Beas cthu. 😂😂😂😂 I said the same thing
This brudda really deserves a lot of credit. I feel he is going to continue making classics.
So damn tragic. RIP John Singleton. A true cinematic pioneer.
Thank you for your vision. ❤️ Thank you for your excellence. You were more than a director, you were a visionary with a gift!! 😓 Rest in power sir!! 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Mr Singleton will live on through his extraordinary work. Rest in Paradise...🙌
RIP John Singleton. He was a Legendary director. Devastating loss
He's in a coma
R.I.P John Singleton legends never die ❤🙏
RIP JOHN.... YOU MADE HISTORY
AllProG bless you
He's a Legend
lol John remind me of The Candyman
REST IN POWER KING SINGLETON 🤴🏿👑🤴🏿
I wish they would get more guests like this instead of always interviewing the same damn people
The Hood is like College in one way You can never forget back. Your college life experience ends at graduation. Once you go back no one knows you anymore. In the hood the people you left behind act like they don't know you anymore?
mcswift1 dope comparison
mcswift1 not really. you can network and connections in college. besides the education it's really not that different
The only thing you not risking your life going back to college.
MrThekidisback your financial life
True lol @ Eddie Thomas
kids I don't think u know how legendary this dude is. Man responsible for so much history
When Nipsey died. John Singleton and F. Gary Gray were the ONLY directors I had in mind who could do his movie justice!! Sadly Mr. Singleton passed. Well F. Gary Gray I'm counting on you to tell Nipseys story!! R.I.P John your an icon in black CINEMA
Boyz N the Hood and Rosewood are my favorite movies by Singleton.
Watch Illegal tender
TUPAC SHAKUR 4EVER!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the recent interviews up at the Breakfast club. Can we give him 1-hour next time please/thank you :)
RIP 💔
Thank you for all the great movies
J. Singleton You Changed My Life! Rise In Power Sr. 2020VisioN💎↗
john singleton should make a new movie called better days about a young black male struggling thru college to be the first in his family to get a degree from college as well facing peer preesure of the new generation ,and trying to figure out his social life ,and facing racial conflict , that would be a great movie ..... i hope a director see this.... lol higher learning was like that tho lol
Jordan A. You already got the idea, write it and submit it to directors..
john directed this interview, great interview was a good conversation
legend. def tuning in to Rebel
LEGEND!!!!!! So upset that he didn't do the PAC Movie but I will still go and see it though
i always got a chills when someone talks about 2pac :D
RIP Legend
Love Four Brothers and much more thank you John
Love this interview
R.I.P#JohnSingleton Your Movie's Will Forever Live
Legendary#Director🎬🎥✊👑💯
NolaBoyTeRoy Lee *_*Movies_**
it's funny that john said no one knew janet was married when he cast her husband as a minor character in poetic justice
Mickey Knox he was her manager. nobody knew he was fucking her.
Also it was weird he said the 'aids test issue' was a joke on set. Pac definitely didn't feel it that way, considering his interviews afterwards.
Mickey Knox exactly. Pac was serious about that shit. I'm confused now
Mr. Singleton don't want to burn any bridges now especially since he's not a A list film director in Hollywood any more. Pac was telling the truth, he was too real for John Singleton, too real for more people and didn't mind speaking the truth
Boyz in da hood is Classic💯👍
Thankful for this Great Interview by The Breakfast Club
RIPOWER
🙏💫🙏🏽
too many to name all ...
👑 🕊NIPSEY🕊

RIP to a legend. 😢🙏🏾
R.I.P. ❤️🙏🏾😔
Great interview
I wish the interview was longer, I love his movies!
the legend, in the building💯💯🔥🔥🔥👍
My dream is to become a filmmaker. I am studying the craft because I have visions of different stories that can impact a person's life. John singleton is an inspiration. I love seeing these types of people because when you see people of your culture make it. It resonates more that you too can become that form of success in your life.
Envy: so explain to the people what rebel is 🙄this nigga ain't changed
He does ask silly questions sometimes lol, but this wasn't one of them. Some people never heard of this show, myself included.
keon williams I actually didn't know what rebel was soooo... try again
Actually, all these cornballs trying to be cute/funny with the DJ Envy comments are pathetic now. I'd commented some time last year on one of the Breakfast Club videos that they should realize their audience is international now so not everybody knows all the guests they have and some of us would appreciate some background on who they are or what they do. Some of these reality TV people who come up here and just start talking and many viewers wonder "So who is this person? What does he/she do?"
keon williams WENGER OUT
@Truly Zambian Exactly. These jokes are corny and unoriginal at this point. People are thirsty for easy likes so they run this joke into the ground. Several times I've seen people try it with questions by Envy that were actually legitimate in my opinion.
May he rest in peace
My inspiration as an up & coming director! LEGEND 🎥❤
RIP 🙏😭
LEGEND!!!!!!!!! 💗
legend he dropped soo many jewels for the culture
Rebel is a fun show. Can't wait for season 2.
Rip John Singleton legendary director that shaped black culture.
Thought it was debo for a quick second
lucky lmao
lucky 😂😂😂😂😂
I promise I did lol
Damn really wish he would have stayed on to help on the Tupac Movie.
RIP, sir
dope video
R.I.P
my favorite AA director. this man gave us hood classics and a few Hollywood heavy hitters
3:14 Tupac didn't think the Janet Jackson AIDS test thing was a joke. He took offense and you can find the interview on youtube where he tooks about how they sent the Black guy, then the white guy, and how he kicked them all out of his trailer lmao
RIP🙏🏽
Lookin like Candyman! Lol!! John Singleton...a legend in film making! Shout out brother!!
Rebel looks good tbh gonna watch it tonight.
RIP John 🐐
Rosewood is one of my fav!
