John Singleton - From Classic Hollywood and New Hollywood to South Central L.A.

The late, pioneering director John Singleton sat with author Donald Bogle in 2016 at the TCM Classic Film Festival to reflect on his career and the making of his trailblazing film Boyz n the Hood (1991). His work on the film simultaneously made him the youngest and first Black director nominated for a Best Director Oscar.
