    I’m so thankful I was born in 81. Being able to see these artists in their prime is irreplaceable. That era was the best of the best. I’m glad to see them doing well. Rip to the fallen soldiers.

      Miss Lee I was born in 86 so I am not that far away from you and I remember those days as well plus I was raised by parents (guardians) who were truely old school so they made sure in their on ways that zi knew about the days in history before I was born and I got to witness the 90's era of all forms of music at a fairly early age. So I am forever connected to music from my time and the past years. Those were some good days.

      I'm from South Africa (grew up there too) but for some reason when I was young in the 90s I gravitated more towards the West Coast (DPGC, Warren G and Nate Dogg in the G-funk era, Pac). But I was heavy on Wu Tang and Nas. I'm almost obsessed with Wu Tang (GZA is my favourite member, in my opinion he's the best in the group lyrically) and Nas is the GOAT in my books (perfect MC: lyrics, subject matter, street cred, etc).
      tbh I've never really listened to a lot of Chino XL, but he's dope from the sporadic music of his that I've heard..
      The old Canibus was incredible! Wish he had proper management or something.
      Common is another MC that I rate highly!

  • @noizreduxion2888
    @noizreduxion2888 2 роки тому +14

    Legendary MC. Having been in heavy rotation for months and even years on my turntable and in my walkman "Dogg Food" will always remain one of my all time favorites.
    Saw him and Daz at a West Coast show in Paris along with Too Short by the 2000's.
    This dude is a real dope MC. From his rhymes, style to the way he loves entertaining a show. Being a fan or not, those two dudes were leaving people no choice but to enjoy their show.
    Thanks for sharing this great interview, it's always cool to learn all this stories on the making of great people/artists and great records.

    I absolutely loved this interview... Kurupt as bad ass as he is has always seemed very humble and being articulate is a plus that comes from the City of Brotherly Love. I'm Compton born LA raised and as much as LA has turned alot of people out. It's always a pleasure to receive the best of both worlds and people like Kurupt are always refreshing to listen to. The gang mentality hasn't tarnished his upbringing and you can tell he holds onto those past experiences and it keeps you balanced. I love to hear people's stories and see them thrive. Such a big fan of DPG I didn't think I could love him even more. I couldn't wait for Kurupts verses to drop. To hear him speak on his love live was impressive. Growth is an Amazing thing. 💯
