sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
Thank you, Laura, for this video using a serger, because I just bought a simple serger and it intimidates me terribly!!! This video will really help me get over that feeling and hopefully feel comfortable using it!
My husband just bought me a serger for my birthday, I’m a newbie, never owned one. Your video is excellent, your explanation and instruction are easy to understand. Thank you so much.
Thank you from down under. I'm a beginner as far as using a serger (we call them overlockers). Your instructions were articulate and comprehensive and the pattern you used was a great idea. I'll be looking forward to learning more from you. Keep safe! :)
Thank you so very much for explaining how to use a serger. M son gave me a surprise of a beautiful Juki serger. It has been almost a year and I hav not used it because I am afraid that I will destroy it. Praise the Lord for your channel !!!!! Have subscribed and looking forward to making my first Serger pajamas.
Many thanks for this video. I got my overlocker last weekend and just winged it to make pair of lounge pants for my son. I learnt several tips from this video.
I just love your teaching style. Your instructions are clear and straightforward. Great tips. My husband bought me a serger for Christmas and I have been nervous to test it out. This video is very encouraging and hopefully I will be serging garments very soon. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills. 🥰
Thank you for your guidance, it was interesting & makes me happy to see another sewer that likes to be able to reinvent the patterns for other comfortable & interesting garments 😊
love your videos. Im a quilter and follow your quilting videos but this one on the serger has reminded me to get out my old serger (35yo) and do some simple sewing (like I used to many years ago). I have a differential feed on my normal machine and realise how useful it would be on the modern sergers, but, my little old serger still cranks along quite well. Thank you for such simple detailed instructions
Your instructions are so helpful! Thank you for the pattern marking tips and the recommendation for using the iron-on knit stabilizer. I recently tried using woolly nylon thread in the loopers for a bathrobe, and I will continue to use it when I make a matching pajama set because it made the serged seam so soft.
Oh my goodness! I finally understand how my overlocker thinks! And I know when to change the front dials versus the differential feed. Thank you so much 💋
I'm quite excited to give this a go! Your tutorials are sew inspiring!!! I received my pattern in the mail and am now fabric shopping. Thank you so much for sharing! I truly enjoy your wide variety of sewing tutorials.
This video was awesome. I told you I always learn something from you. I love the idea of fusing the fusy knit to the pattern before it's cut and the dots on the pockets was so great. Thank you so much for sharing all the tips and tricks. Love it.
This helped answer a lot of questions that I had. You did a very good job of explaining about the pattern and pattern markings. You explained about the fabric and its stretchiness in regard to the pattern, with the info on the back of the pattern envelope. So many things I did not know about. Yes, this is the first of your videos I’ve seen, I’ll go check out your others now.
❤❤❤❤❤Your videos are always so concise and clear with great simplified instructions. Love the interfacing tip!!! If I were your neighbor, I’d be over every day. Aren’t you glad I live in West Virginia?😂 Thanks for all the videos you share with us!😊
Thank you so much for all your videos, but especially this one. Would love to see more serger videos, you explain things so well that I always learn something from every single one--many thanks!
Great tips for the serger. There are many serger videos but not many on how to actually sew with them. I received a serger for Christmas, two months ago, and haven't dared use it yet. Your video is giving me confidence to try it. Thank you!
I'm so happy to see a nicely done video of serger sewing :) Love the differential feed tip ....I'll be using that one for sure. Great pattern for showing technique . Can we expect another ????? I know there is a large number of serger scare babies out there. Machines sitting lonely still in packing box....so sad. Time to pull those poor neglected friends out and get to know them! I've had one to use along with sewing machines more years than I care to admit. They sure have come a long way. Thanks for another great video!!!
Nice! You make me feel as if I could actually DO this. 😃 Never tried any clothing before, just 'crafty' projects. A little intimidated... You explained everything so well I may try it. Thanks. 💜
Hi, Laura, you made my day I bought enough PJs But I was debating sewing Machine or surger now You mad my life easy ready to run a few of them as a gift!
Nice video Laura, as usual you explain so well and it looks so easy. Love the idea to make our own pajamas. Nice patern, and nice soft fabrics....love it.🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
Laura, after viewing your tutorial again, I see why you used a serger. It saves time!! I understand now. I will try this on my new serger as well. Thank you very much for such clear, & concise instructions. Would really have love to see it serged and sew on the machine if you used it. This would have helped us newbie. thanks again.
Thanks for this! I do wish you would show the serger doing its thing though, so we can know what to expect and see how you handle the fabric while using it. I just got a vintage Bernette serger and I'm looking forward to using it.
Thank you for the step by step video. You make leaning easy by including every detail in the process without skipping detail that others take for granted that we know. At my age I find that so frustrating with learning a new piece of computer or phone or TV.
Just found this video and it's a great one! You included several things that were new to me such as how to check if the differential feed is performing accurately. The weather here in Kansas will begin to cool down (hopefully) in a few short weeks and I'm going to start making some p.j.'s with my serger, thanks to you. I'll scroll through your videos as always and hope I find another for using a serger for garments video - - always appreciated!
Hi Laura, when I first came across this video a year ago I ran right out to buy the pattern and some fabric. As we know life gets in the way far to often so here I sit a year later with the fabric and and pattern pieces ready to go. Now in the back of my back I think 🤔 Laura Laura where are the tips you gave us, thank goodness your videos are still where I put them. Phew! Now let’s see if I can actually get these done. Thank you for all the videos you do, I love them. I know you will be in Red Deer in April but am wondering where else you may be going this year. Shirley
Hi Laura, I really very new to sewing, and just purchased a bernina 570 sewing machine(i wanted a good machine).Could you please do this tutorial again using the bernina sewing machine? I would really appreciate it. Thank you for sharing.....love all your videos
Have you found Silhouette Patterns yet. I just did & I love them. I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Just a woman that loves to sew. It would be neat to see your take on them. #195 is going to be my first one. 😊 Have a great day!
I've been sewing for year but I hate adjusting the serger tension. It seems to take forever and often I just give up. I never thought of using different colored threads in the serger to make this easier. Wow!
Hi Laura, I really love to make some pjs but the fabric I find is really expensive to buy. Have u any tips on how I can do this, I have seen some sew clothes from a duvet cover would u say this would work. I love watching you, I get the confidence to have a go and have made numerous projects- reading pillow / quillow /Door hangers/bags, thank you Laura x
Ive just bought the pattern. Question can I put ordinary sewing machine needles in. my overlocker (brother) and should I use stretch needles? Many thanks
I have a serger and have no idea how to use it. Thank you who knows I might actually unpack it and give it a go. Can you also sew with cotton fabrics? I am very new to sewing and have just started learning to sew with my sewing machine. I got the sewing machine and serger as gift and have been slowly getting over my fear of sewing straight. lol
Learn something from each of your videos. Thank you. Maybe should not ask this but you had Baby Lock and then Bernina, could you let us know the pros and cons, or not possible if you are being sponsored???
Yes, I'm sorry if I shouldn't ask that. I just am in the market for a nice machine, I know everyone says to try them out, maybe I need to take more time doing that but there are just things you don't realize 'till after you've had the machine for awhile.....I'm looking for a "last" machine, (I'm 60ish), and one that will be left to my daughter. I love your videos and appreciate the time you give.....
HI. I am new to making clothing - I am a quilter. I am really only interested in making a pair of jeans that fit! I am not finding too much helpful information on the internet about jeans. Do I need a serger to make jeans? I have a Bernina 830 (embroidery/quilting) machine. Could I use this or is the fabric just too thick when you start getting to the folds and seams? Thanks.
You have the neatest ideas. Didn't know there was an interfacing for knits. I put a woven gathered band on a knit sleeve. First of all the knit stretched so therefore I lost most of the gathers. Would the interfacing have prevented this? Also I have trouble with the gathers when I apply them to woven materials. What's your suggestion to this? Thanks.
Thank you, love your teaching style! I can't find an answer to my question in my manual or on line, perhaps you/or someone here can help? I'm a newbie to sergers and want to know if I need to get stretch tread when working with knits? Also, besides Maxi Lock what thread brands do you recommend?
How do you tell what settings to use for the tension on the serger? My stitches are to loose not like when I sew on the sewing machine. How do I fix that and tell if it's right? Could you do a video on sewing a tee shirt for kids please. I would like to make a tee shirt dress for my granddaughter not using a store bought tee shirt so I can match the colors and make a matching tee for her little brother. Thank you for all your help.
I will keep it in mind, and please thread the machine with different colour threads and with your manual adjust the settings, You can always put them back :)
I'm so frustrated trying to print this PDF pattern off. I've read all the instructions on the help page and I've called customer service at McCalls. Has anyone else had this issue? The only way I can get the Row and Column red line is to print 2 pages at a time (there is 56 pages). I've tried every combination of print options. If print it out without the red lines the pattern is wonky in 2 places. So frustrating.
Hi Laura I have a question on another topic. i have been asked if I could embroidered a design on a jacket. This is a reversible flight jacket made of nylon. He only wants the outside of the jacket to show. He won’t be using the inside. Question is: Is there any special stabilizer out there that would work better than another. Hi Laura This is an older video but hope you reply. Will the fusible stabilizer gum up the needle or the knife? Thank you and as all ways I love your videos!
❤❤❤❤❤ OMG! Stabilizing the pocket corners! Stabilizing the shoulder seams! You’re the bomb! Little tips like that make the garment first class!😊
I love your tip on measuring a 5” seam sample before and after serging to determine if the differential feed is correct. Very helpful! Thanks!
I just made similar pockets in a vest. Wish I'd seen your video first. At 70, I still have a lot to learn. Thanks very much.
I appreciate how you explain WHYs in easily-understood terms. You are a great teacher!
Thank you very much and Thank you for watching

Great video, Laura. So much great information on sergers. David says "please sew something for a man, next" We love everything you do!
haha say hi to the boys

Hi, I think you’re very clever and you explain it very simply I just want to say thank you from Jane
Your instructions are so helpful! Thank you for the pattern marking tips and the recommendation for using the iron-on knit stabilizer.

I agree! I have been sewing for about 60 years and I just learned some good tips. Thank you!!!
This helped answer a lot of questions that I had. You did a very good job of explaining about the pattern and pattern markings. The L450 is wonderful. I’ve owned three Bernina’s in the past and I plan to buy this one the L450. You do a great job Laura.
Thank you for the teaching, you are very clear and have a nice tone of voice.
❤❤❤❤❤Your videos are always so concise and clear with great simplified instructions. Love the interfacing tip!!! If I were your neighbor, I’d be over every day. Aren’t you glad I live in West Virginia?😂 Thanks for all the videos you share with us!😊
So much info and details - - clearly given. Your vids are always well done.

very true:) i like your expression "Time to pull those poor neglected friends out and get to know them"
So true! My serger sat in the box for several months before I got it out to try. I am so glad I did. It's not scary at all once you start.
Terry Ivey yes you are right. 😂 Mine is still in the box and I have had it for 2 years. This is a great tutorial that might tempt me to try it.
How to thread a otima. Serger
Nice! You make me feel as if I could actually DO this. 😃 Never tried any clothing before, just 'crafty' projects. A little intimidated... You explained everything so well I may try it. Thanks. 💜
Thanks for all the great tips. Love your videos
Wonderful and clear instructions, thank you. Love the pattern too. Never would thought to do on the serger. Thank you again for the tutorial xx
Hi, Laura, you made my day I bought enough PJs But I was debating sewing Machine or surger now You mad my life easy ready to run a few of them as a gift!
Thank you for this video. I just bought my serger and already I love it. Made myself a t-shirt with private lessons but will make another on my own.
Hi Laura
This was the best video for what I’m doing. Thank you.

Thank you for decreasing my fear of the SERGER!
Would love more serger videos! Thanks
I will keep that in mind thank you, here is a quilt ua-cam.com/video/gD4gdtgVVNc/v-deo.html

Love this instructional video!! So helpful to see the garment being constructed. What kind of pen did you use to make your markings?

you can get sheets that are made with tshirt fabric
God bless you! Thanks so much.
Ive just bought the pattern. Question can I put ordinary sewing machine needles in. my overlocker (brother) and should I use stretch needles? Many thanks
Thank you for getting back to me
I have a serger and have no idea how to use it. Thank you who knows I might actually unpack it and give it a go. Can you also sew with cotton fabrics? I am very new to sewing and have just started learning to sew with my sewing machine. I got the sewing machine and serger as gift and have been slowly getting over my fear of sewing straight. lol
Dear Stella. The bottom fabric I can’t find anything like it. Hints where I might look?
You are such a wonderful teacher! Did you use four threads? What width did you use?
Fabulous ❣❣❣
Well explained video but could you talk through more about the Serger, ie what are all the bells and whistles are for.
Brilliant video thank you
I would know to know where did you purchase the seam guide that showed the 5/8 seam
Great tutorial
i'm so disapointed that it seems to be too fast for me. i would like to have a go, i will try and get the pattern. fhank you laura.
Thank you but I would like to have seen the machine actually going to see how it works.
thanks and I will keep that in mind:)
Loved this, thank you sew much!
So cute!!

Yes it will help, as it helps it not stretch as much:) thanks for asking
Im still learning about interfacing Can you tell me which type of interfacing you used?
Love yiur videos. Thanks
lovely video, thanks. Why do my last treat always brake of will it be tention?
Yes tension could be the trouble
Sending everyone love at 11 o clock 💙
The fabric you used. I didn’t understand the name. Is it a cotton knit.
What marking pen are you using?
How much fabric will this project need?
Great video, thakns! Ann
thanks
Love this pattern 💕
thanks
Wonderful
thanks
All good information - as usual!!! Is the fabric a jersey or interlock knit?
Thank you, love your teaching style! I can't find an answer to my
question in my manual or on line, perhaps you/or someone here can help?
I'm a newbie to sergers and want to know if I need to get stretch
tread when working with knits? Also, besides Maxi Lock what thread brands do you recommend?
As I understand it, the stitch created is what gives the stretch, not the thread type.
How do you tell what settings to use for the tension on the serger? My stitches are to loose not like when I sew on the sewing machine. How do I fix that and tell if it's right? Could you do a video on sewing a tee shirt for kids please. I will keep it in mind, and please thread the machine with different colour threads and with your manual adjust the settings, You can always put them back :)
Love the pattern but I don't have a serger. Can you sew the pattern on a regular machine?
Yes you can, I just use zigzag scissors or just zig zag the seams with your sewing machine, no bother! It is only for the wash so it does not fray!
Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland :-)
Great Videos!!!
thanks and hello from Canada
Your amaziiing
Love this pattern, hope I can find it in y stores or on line. Thank you again. Later
Have fun shopping
This is so cute, thank you, What interfacing brand did you use?
So clear thanks
Did you use special sewing machine needles for the knit fabric. Great video as usual.
I do like to use knit needles:) thanks for asking
Hi Laura
I have a question on another topic. i have been asked if I could embroidered a design on a jacket. This is a reversible flight jacket made of nylon. He only wants the outside of the jacket to show. He won’t be using the inside. Question is: Is there any special stabilizer out there that would work better than another.
Thanks Laura and “As usual I will come on back” !!! I love your videos
Eileen :)
it will all depend on what you can get. Go to a Quilt shop that sells embroider machines. They will know what is best
Hi Laura
This is an older video but hope you reply. Will the fusible stabilizer gum up the needle or the knife?
Thank you and as all ways I love your videos!
No as the glue on the stabilizer is not sticky. Thanks for asking:)
