- The West Coast Trail is regarded as one of the most beautiful hikes in the world. Hikers and Backpackers from around the world come to hike Canada's Iconic West Coast Trail every year. The West Coast Trail is a 75KM Hike that follows the West Coast Line of Vancouver Island. The West Coast Trail dips on and off the beach, up and down ladders and across cable cars. Although the West Coast Trail isn't an "easy" hike, it's a MUST DO!

5 trip veteran here (2000 - 2004). Always on the trail in 1st week of August. 31 days on the trail, and only 1 afternoon - evening of drizzling rain. One entire trip without a cloud in the sky. Never had a reservation. In those days 26 hikers were allowed at each end per day, of which 6 were allotted for walkups like me. On 3 occasions, walked up and started same day; on the other 2 trips, we started next day. Moniques was open for some amazing burgers, while the crab shack at the Nitinat was mostly for takeaway with just a couple of tables for dine in. Camped at almost every beach except Cullite, Logan Bonilla. Difficult to express how much i love this trail.
Absolutely amazing video! Your attention to detail and the extra effort required to capture this story, while grinding away on the trail is mind-blowing. I'm taking the same route in one week and feel more motivated than ever after watching this. Thanks for sharing!
This is by far the most beautiful WCT vlog I’ve come across. Well done
I just booked mine for August. Doing it solo too! Super excited.
Hey man, I love how enthusiastic you are about this hike, I have been working out there for the past 3 yrs and am part of the first nation's where you had started your hike
This video should have like a million views.
Everything was so well put together and the trail is just incredible, well done
So kind, thank you!
I was inspired by the youtube short you made about this. I didnt realize you had a longer actual video haha.
I saw the Short about a month and a half ago - and i just finished the WCT trail myself yesterday. Man, was it ever gruelling. But oh how cool it was.
Amazing Noah
Really appreciate it!
Hola Noah, soy de México, espero pronto conocer Kelowna, muchas gracias por tus videos, saludos y un abrazo muy fuerte
Stepping back into the WCT 3 weeks from today for my 4th time. Your video reminded me of the trail’s immense beauty and taking it all in the first time. Well done.
Great video I really enjoyed, thank you for posting, West Coast Trail is defiantly on my bucket list!
Epic adventure, epic video! And the effort in "bringing" us along on your hike! Big thumb up 👍
Glad to know life been good for you!
Thanks Jules :) I hope you’re well, been a long time!
I usually don’t want videos more than 10 minutes but this was a greatly edited video and story ..Well done
That means so much, thank you!
This is one of my favourite WCT vlogs that I've encountered! I did the trail in August 2021 and I can't wait to return someday. It really humbles you and fulfills you at the same time. Great work 😊
Thank you so much!
Great video, Noah! Cheers for more awesome adventures! 🥂❤️✨
Looks like a beautiful coast trail. The view at 7:30 is amazing. Thank you very much for sharing! Stay safe out there.
Thanks so much Mario!
Such a good video. One of the best I've watched. Heading to this trail in June. Pretty pumped.
Dude I love your great experience on this hike you did. You amaze me and especially inspired me to try this challenge out. Thank you so much. God bless brother.
Love you're energy, how is this man single ❤
Wow such an epic adventure!!!
Truly, the West Coast is insane!
Wow, that was a truly an amazing Adventure. Thank you for bringing us along with you!
Just awesome trail highlights. Another great one. Thank you for sharing it. ✌️
Appreciate it my dude :)
I love coming back to watch this video as inspiration, it's so well done! Bravo Noah :)

Thank you Hassan, means a lot
This is an incredible video!! Loved the song choices, and the overall feel of the video. Looks like quite the adventure!!
Thanks so much Jodie - mission accomplished!
Incredible shots and great vlog!! would love to do this trail someday 🌲
Great content. Such a relaxing and beautiful place. I hope to go there soon.
Thanks Reyner!
Dude what a beautiful trail! Amazing job on the storytelling and visuals (love the pro mist filter). You got me craving adventure man, you truly did an amazing job capturing this experience.
Thanks homie, really appreciate that. The funny thing is I left my pro mist at home; that was 100% trail ambience. So humid out there. I thought that exact same thing while editing through the footy.
Wonderful adventure......thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jim, honestly reminded me somewhat of hiking through Luzon! Hope you’re well :)
Awesome video! also great job making it!!! Looks amazing, will have to check that out soon! Keep challenging yourself!!
Thank you Alexander. Really appreciate that
Amazing!
Thanks Lori
Great job Noah, this is awesome and captures the experience so well. Seeing your video brings back lots of great memories (and a few aches and pains lol).
Haha, I know exactly what you mean!
Amazing video. I enjoyed every moment of it and will be sharing it with friends. Exceptional quality and narrative is very enlightening. Well done 👍 and thanks
Thank you so much Jane
Good video! Good filming.
Outstanding video man, breathtaking.
Appreciate that :)
Glad to see you back, dude!!
Ive had my sights set on making this hike since the pandemic started. Thanks for showcasing it. Cant wait to do it.
Wish you all the best! Such an amazing trail.
很棒的视频,让我感觉身临其境,谢谢
Bro it been so long since I've seen your video but I'm glad I was able to see you work again. Never fails to impress me
Great video Noah! I am going to plan a trip there!
Thanks Jaysheng! Love you 😘
Seems like an adventurous time!
Dude, so much adventure!
On my bucket list now!
Cannot recommend it enough!
Awesome video man. Love the colour grading if you are doing that yourself. 😍
Noah, it’s been too long! What a way to come back. The trail looked like my perfect place. So wish you could make more content but I guess you are very in demand. Once again, well done on a great vlog.
Thank you so much Hank! I love UA-cam. I wish it paid the bills so that I could justify focusing on it more, however, doing it strictly because I love it comes with its own benefits 😊
I just saw one of Noah's Banff videos pop up on my recommended, and I thought, I hadn't seen a video in a while. Lone behold I check the channel to see I missed this beauty. Love your incredible cinematography, as always, your use of different angles always blow me away. Congrats on completing the hike! Hope you have more videos planned soon!
Thanks Ryan, glad you checked in! Hope to have a few more epic adventures this year.
love this video. please post more video in the future.
Thanks Nemo!
Truly astonishing scenery! I drove along the west coast last October, and hiked in several provincial parks, and I really loved it! There's nothing here in Toronto lol.
Such a beautiful place eh?
Wow, nice video Noah
i`m not really in hiking but i would join this trip for sure
Cheers Alex!
Excellent video. I had thought of doing it, but it's too much like work for me. I hike everyday on Vancouver's North shore mountains.
I just love everything 😘👌 very nice...
Thanks so much!
Woah Noah! What an amazing video...I must say, the trail scenery was superb, but the crab shack caught my eye 😉 Great video and great adventure!
Thanks so much Tim!
Hey Noah, came across your channel looking for hiking spots. Love the content you've created and looking forward to watching more of your videos and learning to be a better photographer/cinematographer! Liked and Subscribed!
Thank you!!
I am down to one last major coastal trails to complete around Vancouver Island. Your filming of this was amazing. North Coast Trail although shorter is even more of a slog but is amazing.
So great, NCT is on the list!
The west coast is beautiful
Couldn’t agree more
South to north is the way to go. I would not do this heading south, except I suppose you have less food to carry during the steepest parts of the climb.
Finally another video from you. 😄
It's been too long!
Would love to watch another travel series from you, keep posting more frequently. High five from India!
Hi Noah! Thank you so much for sharing this epic adventure with us - this is my sign! I am mind blown by how you documented this whole journey so seamlessly, how did you film yourself? Did you have a tripod setup? You are incredible!
Thanks so much Lillian! Yeah, carried a tripod along with me. Lots of extra walking, hah!
Thanks for that! It certainly made it seem more approachable than a lot of other ones I’ve seen where the difficulties were highly dramatized. What month did you hike?
Oh man a 20kg Pack! You could have cut much down from that. I did that in the beginning to, going down to a Backpack around 12kg made hiking much more enjoyable for me. Great video and thanks fpr capturing the experience!
Yeah, camera gear will do that to you 😂 I highly recommend no one take a 50LBS bag
@@Noahvde my set up is like 6kg for all of my hiking gear and clothing + 6kg for camera gear (including drone). That ultra light equipment can be really expensive. But you can save so much by just taking the things you really need, and that's not much if you really think about it
Great video...what did you do for other meals besides your dinners at camp?
LESSS GO
Let’s go b3ngjam
Great one buddy 👍👍👍 Why Anamorphic ? Feels like lots of good shots got cropped.
Thanks TK! Two main reasons. One, I like the vibe. Second being, I was so exhausted while hiking that I did a poor job at framing some shots. Gave me a bit of room to reframe :)
@@Noahvde I watched it again. You are right!! Anamorphic is more cinematic.. How did you take those hiking shots? Keep the cam on tripod, walk, come back and take the cam and then walk again?
I recommend you backpack Turkey.
Did you do South to North or opposite?
Was this trail close to Sooke?
I don't understand why you would hike it so fast though. Like take your time and enjoy it?
song in 7:20?
The way you take your time to explain the details is what I love the most about your videos 😍😍❤️ !!! Find out the secret - P R O M O S M !
start of the vid, you mentioned solo. 80% of the vid you hiked with people. bruhhhhh
Great VIDEO, DUDE! Gotta correct the part where ya say the local native peoples have been there for over "4000" years. It's a nice guess or whatever but it's safe to say they've been there for well over 14000 years. We keep finding evidence that pushes the date back every few years. HOWEVER I was always told we've been here since... FOREVER. ;) I'm not trying to be an dink, it's just that us native folks of this area don't get to tell our story, and you folks just make stuff up. It's really annoying, and to be honest its' fn sad.
