I'm not even an Audi geek or even particularly into German cars, I just appreciate cool cars and the stories and history associated with them, but the S1E2 was my favorite rally car from the moment I saw it.
Even those unpainted replicas of silver F1 cars with tanks aside damn.. when he mentioned are drivable i really tought they would surprise you to let you start to see how they sound if not let you drive at least one lap around that 'secret' complex but dang even so, what an incredible view for eye sight..

Even as a younger person growing up in these sort of modern days, I completely agree that you can’t beat some old Audi’s! Those old Group B Quattros had my jaw on the floor the whole time! This has to be one of, if not the best video on UA-cam!

@@poplaurentiu4148 You'd think so, but Group S was basically the original draft for what eventually became the WRC specifications ten years later (which are still in use today): 300 hp engines, very small homologation requirements (originally 10 cars, now it's 20), and the original Group S version didn't require any of the parts to come from a street car, unlike the current WRC rules. So basically the cars would just have looked completely outlandish, but had a much saner amount of power for rally. (That prototype had a Group B engine fitted though, so it may have twice as much horsepower as the "production" version would have been allowed to have.)
Winchester1979.. Have you saw, searched info for all secret concepts & prototypes that should follow in Group-S ? (because not just Audi was working on it, others brands too) so the fact that none have engine in the front (like 10 years latter or today rally cars) most were build with mid-engine layout is a prove you are quite wrong when you say they became specifications that are used today and i don't know where you got informed from but what i do know for sure is the power out-put for Group-S was going to be higher overall than what Group-B was using.. (that was FiA intention before any WRC Group-B accidents regarding the Group-S).. so yeah..

These cars have severe attitude and sound absolutely beautiful, so much so that you have to floor it in every gear until you run out of road! I was in awe! What a trip! I love older Audis. Last week I opened up the exhaust on my built 20vt S6, lovely sound. I haven't turned on the stereo since 😊. I wish they talked and showed more of the V8q DTM. I love those too.
Honestly one of your best videos. Had the privilege of working on top ALMS Porsche team back in 2003-'06. Got to know all the Audi guys. And went to LeMans and raced against them. And after an accident hitting spectators at a course, all the other teams dropped out in recognition of what had happened, instead Lancia forced their team to finish the race.

We fan Boi'd out on most of the cars in the garage, but the RS 002 was like seeing a unicorn for the first time...
To me it looked very much like an obeisance to Ford's RS 200 and the similarity of projectname given seems to prove it.
