I was confused at the start if this was going to be another baseless critique on Caucasian Americans. But it holds up that pretense with smoke and mirrors as it cuts deep on real problems in the African American community. The first hint is dropped when the singer bashes the police for intercepting him, whilst he smoking weed, driving a car that wasn't his (implied to be stolen) and off to buy some crack. The video becomes a critique about rampant crime and drug use in the black community, touching on violence among blacks and how their individuality is being usurped by identity politics. Going so far as to point out the blatant Marxism leveled at their ethnic group as if it were a postmodern proletariat, right at the end of the video.
