Just Briliant 👏🏻👏🏻. A fantastic day out presented beautifully. Thank you for showing us around this amazing place. You guys are awesome. 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️.
LOVED this tour of Blists Hill and Ironbridge! I've never been - it's definitely on my list of places to visit. It's so immersive - loved the old boy who'd "been there since Victorian times!" Lol! As always, such fun commentary and banter too - brilliant! 👍😀
Ah thank you, I wish we’d filmed him in other roles, he was a star. I hope you get to visit ok your next trip over here. It’s certainly lovely out of season! Thanks for watching 🍻
I'm not even exaggerating when I say this is EXACTLY the sort of place I would absolutely go wild for. Immersive, recreated history is one of my favorite things... museums with rebuilt rooms, old manors with recreated spaces... a whole village of it and I'd go crazy! We actually have pioneer village in the middle of our city, but it's like a postage stamp compared to Blists Hill. I love that's it's museums within a museum as well. Very meta. Just a lovely place I know we're going to have to check out when we visit. Ironbridge looks fantastic as well! What a quaint, gorgeous place. Perfect spot for a shandy. Thank you for this amazing tour Rach and Wills! One of your best yet!
Ah thank you. It’s brilliant how they’ve created the museum around the original blast furnaces. You guys will love it when you visit. Make sure you go along to the singsong in the pub!! Thanks so much for watching and your very kind words. Have a brilliant week 🍻
Another one we will be adding to our list. This place looks absolutely fabulous. I love looking at old labels and items and things you used to be able to buy, all without plastic packaging! Waving, from Qatar 🇶🇦
Waving back at ya. Yes it’s a brilliant museum - I’ve always loved it - my dad took us there as kids and it’s been a favourite ever since. The bread is divine and the smell as you walk past the bakery is amazing. It’s well worth a day out. Cheers 🍻
One of the most fascinating things for me is the return of the world to that style of architecture, that house really fascinated us in the 12th minute.😍😍
I grew up with a Victorian I Pad and didn't even know it. LOL! We have been to a few living museums like this here in the US and we always love them. It is so cool to experience just a bit of what life used to be like in past generations. The actors at these places dressed in period costume are always fun to talk with about what their life was like in the past. Wills certainly had a lot going on in Victorian times. Thanks for the tour of Blists Hill Victorian Living Museum - and Ironbridge.
Ah thanks for watching. Those Victorian iPads really tickled us. We had a brilliant day and love an interactive museum. We’d love to check out some in the US. Thanks for watching 🍻
Hello my friend awesome video this is very exciting and interesting content great sharing my friend the place is so fantastic I really enjoyed watching.
This is absolutely awesome. I really love the Blits Bill and the good old pedal bike, they were amazing. You are right , the town is ao beautiful. Enjoy shopping and have a great day.
Thanks so much for watching. It’s a brilliant day out if you’re ever over here! Sending you greetings back from wales - we can’t wait to get back to Italy!!! We’ve missed it 🍻
Great little tour. You had great weather to enjoy along with the great museum. To see everything here takes a couple of days or visits. Blists Hill is so interesting. Our last visit was a few years back when they had a special Victorian Christmas event on. I very much enjoyed following you around here.
Oh my Ivor, don’t say Victorian and Christmas is the same sentence, Wills will be booking tickets for that tomorrow!! It’s a fantastic area and you’re right, it would take a few days to do everything! But, on the flip side, we were happy to go out of season as it was quieter!! Thanks for watching 🍻
Such a great shot at 0:23😂 I live near the city of Victoria in Canada (named after Queen Victoria) and some parts of the city have similar atmosphere like this town☺️ Liked 23💜 thanks for sharing lovely tour around Blists Hill😁
Bless him!! He can’t help himself!! That’s really cool about Victoria, we’d love to visit someday. I’ve only been to Quebec and Ontario, we’d love to head on over the BC. Thanks so much for watching and have a great week 🍻
Cool. I went as a child with my parents and loved it! We really enjoyed our time there. We really loved the guys on piano in the pub! Cheers for watching and that's so cool about your friends school! 🍻
What an amazing stroll back in time! Reminds me of Colonial Williamsburg in VA USA. Lovely video thanks for taking us along! Wills the joke….mmmm 😂😂😂~Cara
What a fascinating place. Love it and the tour. Hey I went to that dentist when I was younger, yeah torture for sure! Love how you inject humor and fun. New fan!
Hahaha I’m pretty sure I went to the same dentists!! Put me off dentists for life! It’s such a great museum and a lovely way to spend a few hours. Thanks for joining us and welcome to the channel 🍻
Hi guys, sorry for the late watch on this one, we are just catching up after being away. Absolutely loved this place! Thanks for taking us along on your great day out, and for giving us another place to visit. Hope you have a great week, Shell and Pete
Ah thanks both and don’t worry! We are so behind on so many videos. We’ve been out and about as much as possible this weekend to try and bag a few in advance! We’re glad you enjoyed this. It’s a great day out and a lot more fun than a walk and look museum. It does get busy though in high season. We’ve not tried the one in York, so thanks for the heads up. We hope you both had a brilliant Easter weekend. Cheers 🍻
We enjoyed stepping back in time visiting Blists Hill with you, Rachel and Wills. Looks like a lot of fun and chips/fries always tasted better cooked with animal fat. It's only recently (okay, maybe 20-30 years) that's changed here. Darn, we eat candles quite often and didn't know you weren't supposed too! Beautiful town, lovely architecture, quaint shops, and fun museums. Loved spending the day there with you!
Thanks for joining us! We had a lot of fun and the chips were amazing!! We’re glad you enjoyed it, no Kay off those candles!! Bad for you!!! Have a brilliant week 🍻
Hey Rachel and Will, love the music!! We don’t like museums but I have stay that looks pretty interesting. Love that there’s not a lot of ready about it but actually experiencing it. That’s what we are all about. About we have never seen any museum like that! Definitely putting it on our list! This is one of our favorite videos.
Ah thank you both. We feel much the same about museums!! This one is so much fun though. Glad you enjoyed it and I hope you get to visit some day. Thanks for watching 🍻
I love folk museums and Blists Hill looks like a really good one. The buildings were all quite substantial, the little town of Ironbridge was sweet too. Amazing to think the first bridge made of iron was in 1779.
Thanks so much for watching. We love this museum. I also like folk museums!! Ironbridge is super pretty and there are loads more museums around it. Thanks for watching 🍻
Every time I hear your voice Rachel I think you would be perfect narrating on the telly!! I really need to visit this place, it looks fab. Thank you for another great video. Have a great week. Take care - Nettie 🙋♀
Ah bless you thank you! I do often think I have the face for radio 🤣🤣🤣. I hope you get to visit Blists Hill and Ironbridge, it’s a great day out. We’re glad you enjoyed it and again thank you for your lovely comment. Have a brilliant week 🍻
What a great video! No wonder you love this museum. I have expected you to snap your fingers and be transformed into Victorian dress. It’s amazing how much stuff that they had for you to go through and experience Victorian life.
Thank you so much. It’s a brilliant place to visit. I don’t think I could have stood Victorian dress for the day though!! We had a brilliant day and we’re glad you could join us. 🍻
Hi guys, wonderful video. This museum looks incredible, I have seen it in documentary’s on TV before, but first time I have seen a full exploration of it 😊 loved it and Iron Bridge looks very lovely too 😊
We love the "open Air- back to the past" Museum. We have a few here in 🇳🇱 as well. You had a lovely day for it, as it wasn't that busy and the sun was out 🤩! I sure recognized a few 'golden oldie' household cleaners and lolly items. Loved the piano player and his singing support act. The tales one hears 😂 😂! Glad you got to spend your penny 😂 😂 😂 ! Those inkt wells on the desks - the boy behind me dipped my ponytail into the inkt. Mum wasn't pleased- the stain stayed. Loved the pottery lady and her story. Oh that bridge was AMAZING. Love the older structures. Now I want a pork pie! Sigh! 🍺 👍 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱 🍺
They’re the best museums aren’t they! Live it rather than read it!! Love it. We’ll have to check out the ones you have over there. Bad times with your ponytail as a child, naughty boy!! I think we spent our pennies wisely!! Sweets, chips, a lavender bag and some soap!! Thanks for watching and have a brilliant week 🍻
I'm so behind, I missed the last two videos, you guys are so much fun and always take us for nice tours. This looks like a blast, my wife is really into Victorian than myself, but I do exactly as she says, so I guess I love it too, lol.
Ah thanks Pips and no worries, we are super behind too!! We’re glad you enjoyed it and I’m glad your wife told you that you’re into Victorian-a too! 🤣🤣. That’s the secret of a happy life - just do what she says - she’s probably right!! Works in our house! Thanks for watching and have a great week 🍻
Wow, what a fantastic place...quite a step back in time for sure! Nope, no dentist for me in those days...Yikes! Doggy!!! Hopefully the younger generation will help to keep these places functioning! Awesome! Bruce and Otis
Thanks so much for watching, we’re glad you enjoyed it!! Your could get Otis a proper license!!! We don’t have dog licenses anymore, but they were a thing once. Crazy. Have a great week 🍻
Clicked straightaway, yes! loving Blists Hill, definitely encouraged to go visit there, would love to have a day out there! it's officially going on the list with thanks to you both! So cool that you can change up your money and spend it there, so interesting and different. Wow, some of those products are incredible to see and your right, some of those brands are still going! Love the cobbled streets, gorgeous! Incredible also to see the blast furnace's, just spectacular! This video is amazing!!! genuinely one of your best yet, this is so right up our street, great production, narration and thank you for sharing and showing us around!🙌👌🍻 xx
Ah thank you so much for this lovely comment. You guys would love it and do a far more informative job than us of Vlogging it!! We eagerly await your Blists Hill Vlog! Have a brilliant week
My dear friends! You don't know how I enjoyed watching your video! Really a lot! This very special museum is simply stunning! I'd stay there for hours! Truly an immersion in the time of Queen Victoria to understand how life was in those times. Everything is very well done. Truly the most unique museum I have ever seen and a lot of fun. It must have been a unique experience. You guys have been great at showing us everything and in the best way. It seemed to be there with you, to enter every environment and discover it! You did a wonderful job and your video time just flew by !! A huge LIKE for your awesome work and thank you for always being so good and so fun at the same time! HUGS and have a blessed Easter week! Renata
Ah thank you so much Renata. It’s a brilliant place that you can happily spend a few hours. Fingers crossed you can experience it for yourself one day. Thanks so much for watching and your lovely comment. 🍻
Ooo you’re lucky. It’s such a lovely area with so much to see. We nearly did Shrewsbury this Christmas for the Carol singing - don’t tell him that or he’ll be there in a shot!! Thanks for watching 🍻
Thank you so much for a fun and factual video!! It's great that it's so interactive and I love the bank and the fact you use old money. We have an outdoor living museum called Beamish, based here in the North East, but I can't even remember the last time I went. This has made me want to go now! Thank you for an awesome video. Loved it.
I was trying to watch this lovely video on my phone whilst eating my lunch, but my husband is insisting that he wants to watch it too, so now I have to stop watching and go upstairs and watch it on the TV with him 😂
They were miners candles, they put copper oxide in them so all miners had green candles. If you were found to have had one at home, it meant you’d stolen it!! They were also poisonous!!
Wow what a museum 😍 so immersive, everything on point, looks like a great day out. Iron bridge looks exceptionally quaint. Yes yes yes Wills found another Christmas shop woop woop! Thanks for sharing this guys it was fabulous! Cheers 🥂 to the good times 👍❤️💋 Jillxx
Ah thank you. We had a lovely day, we loved all of it. Definitely our kind of museum!! Don’t encourage Wills and his Christmas shops!! 🤣🤣. Cheers and thanks for watching 🍻
Living it... Thats the best way to experience a museum. I am with Will, the money looked like a challenge of sorts. This museum did a wonderful job making you feel emerged in that time. oh, That building did look sad. 😩. Tons of information complimented by brilliant music choices. I agree, worth the fee to visit this museum. I would have to hit that Christmas shop as well.
Ah thank you. It’s our kind of museum, we get so much more out of it when we experience it rather than look at things behind glass!! It was a sad building wasn’t it, maybe because it’s not a working furnace now it’s sad!! Thanks so much for your kind words, have a brilliant week .🍻
Hi guys that was a great place, we watched this in the car on our way back home and Alf and our daughter want chips after seeing you and I want sweets ! What a fantastic place. Never heard of it before but its looks like a fantastic day out . Thanks for the tour , want to visit now ! Have a great Easter week , loved this ❤️
I went there as a kid and have loved it ever since. I took Wills a long time ago and didn’t like it as much, but they’ve really worked on it a lot over the years and it’s a great day out. I think you guys would enjoy it. Thanks for watching, now go get some chips!!! 🍻
Just watched this with hubby, and after london this is one of your best"thoo all yours are good".We love this sort of stuff, near us is a place called bygones were you see how it was years ago.this place blows it outa da water,we both said we love a place were you could step back in time.i love the way you both changed a fiver to old money, and bought stuff lavender bag ect.there was a cock joke in there somewere, but my fav is theres a idiot lol.we will deff be going to this place, and loved the ironbridge, even thoo someone was reving there poxy bike while you was trying to talk. And will owns alot the town.loved this from start to lovely finish and the music was on point.my hubby loved the para joke! have a quick week and stay safe debs xx ps you always seem to find xmas shops when its not xmas,my hubby said they got a xmas land in america that wills would love.10/10 for this
Ah thanks Debs. It’s a great place and I’m sure you and hubby would love it!! We’ve bought ‘Debs the drone’ this week!! So excited, we can’t wait to take her down to the beach for a test fly. Thanks for your lovely kind words about this Vlog. Have a brilliant week too. 🍻
This was awesome you guys, loved it. We can't wait to come visit one day! I am happy to see Wills finally made it to the pub!! What's wrong with a good Christmas shoppe? lol Cheers friends
Oh wow, difficult question. You can quite happily spend half a day at Blists Hill. The music in the pub is only at certain times (from memory we went around midday). We've not done the other museums together, but I think I've been to Coalport as a child, so we can't really help you on those, but if you want to experience all the shops, talks, music and interact with the 'townsfolk' a good half day should do you. Cheers 🍻
@@nadiabarrett5195 Ironbridge is really pretty. We didn't spend too long there. We saw the bridge and had a drink, walked are back streets and that was it, there didn't seem to be loads to do, but I know there are more museums. X
You’re welcome for the joke!!!! Aw. We love Blists Hill. You’ve got to do the sing song in the pub - did you spot that the pianist is also the policeman (I think he is in your video - we only see the back of his head!!). Also couldn’t help noticing when you were eating your chips - were those kids kicking ducks?? I need to watch again to check! 🤣 Fab video. Thoroughly enjoyed. Xx
I did think the policeman was the same guy, didn’t ask him to find out. The kids were just scaring the ducks, if they’d kicked one, then I would be most cross and telling them off! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the joke!! Well thank Ella!!
Loved the skipping! What a fantastic place, the singalong was awesome, the actors were good sports to let you film them, it really helped give us a real feel for the town! I bet the incline plane was a spectacle in the day. £21.50 is not a bad price for all those sights and activities! Never been to Ironbridge, it looks very quaint! Of course there is a Christmas Shop, how on earth do you find these places? Nice shandy and summary guys! Cheers to the good times! 🍻
The skulking was definitely a tribute to you two!! It’s a great museum and I think it’s very worth the money for all you get (parking not included though!!!). We loved Ironbridge - we were lucky the entire day was so quiet with people, I’m sure it’s not as pleasant when it’s heaving with tourists!! Yep, Wills can sniff out a Christmas shop at any given time!! Cheers and thanks for watching 🍻
Who needs Disney when you can walk through queues about Ironmaking and steam?! Maybe the boot maker was out looking for 🐓 Yea, Christmas poster!! We don't want to see the day where Wills can't find a Christmas shop! 🍻
It’s a fun day out and we’re glad you guys could come along. Please can you go travelling soon! We’re missing your vids! Thanks so much for watching (people are now starting to send in ideas for where there are Christmas shops - there’s no stopping him!!) 🍻
Can it be truly Victorian without barefoot street urchins and the consumption? That aside it does look like fun. Coincidentally we found a quaint old wooden drop dunny, still in use (I mean available to use, I didn't surprise some poor old church goer on the shitter), at a church on our current trip. Horrible flash backs to my youth. It even had a red backed spider like the song says.
It would be more authentic. You see that’s why Australia me, (not you on the shitter 🤣)it’s the bitey things wot kill you casually hanging around! You guys have way too many violent insects and reptiles!!! Thanks for watching 🍻
The Lifestyle of the Victorian Policeman was particularly harsh & the pay was poor, about the same as a Farm Labourer, well through it was better in some City Forces.
The Rural Policeman was assigned to a village and a special house was provided for Lodging.
They tended to integrate better within the community and became trusted and popular.
Thank you so much for watching and taking time to give us this info. History is so fascinating 🍻
You're welcome.
Thanks.
It certainly is.
I heard this from the 90 minute documentary film called History of the British Police Force.
On UA-cam.

A good tour indeed
The lavender bag reminded me of our visit to the Cotswold Lavender fields 💜
It smells divine. We’d love to visit a lavender field! I’d probably just fall asleep in it 🤣🤣
This museum reminds me of The Beamish in Durham. We are SO EXCITED to finally visit for the first time in June!
Someone else said that and we have seen the Beamish on TV (bargain hunt!!) we want to check that out now too 🍻
I am happy to see the Scenery of many countries ♥️♥️🇯🇵

@@PostcardAndAPint ❤️
Great video guys😃I love visiting places like this, it really brings history to life 👍
Thanks so much for watching. Definitely our style of museum too!!! 🍻
So good tour !
Thanks so much for joining us 🍻
Very interesting thought directed by the film.
Congratulations.
Have a beautiful day! ❤️
Thank you so much. We enjoyed it.
@@PostcardAndAPint Radio or TV you would be amazing! xx
😂😂😂
Hi guys, wonderful video. This museum looks incredible, I have seen it in documentary’s on TV before, but first time I have seen a full exploration of it 😊 loved it and Iron Bridge looks very lovely too 😊
Ah thanks guys. It’s a brilliant day out and so much to see and do. I hope you guys make it there one day. Thanks for watching and have a great week 🍻
What a fantastic video so well put together .loved the tour and the history and love your quariky narration
Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a brilliant day 🍻
Wonderful tour
Thank you 🍻
Wow, what a fantastic place...quite a step back in time for sure!
Hadir nyimak ... salam kenal semoga sukses 👍
Thank you so much 🍻
Clicked straightaway, yes! loving Blists Hill, definitely encouraged to go visit there, would love to have a day out there! it's officially going on the list with thanks to you both!
You video was very informative and good.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint Really hope so!!😉Big hug, my friends!!
Fantastic! I'm lucky enough to live close by. Best fish and chips. Glad you liked Ironbridge. Ps, there's a Christmas shop in Shrewsbury
Loved it.
Oo I’ve heard of the Beamish. It also looks really good! I hope we can get up there one day. Thanks for watching. We had a wicked day. 🍻
I was trying to watch this lovely video on my phone whilst eating my lunch, but my husband is insisting that he wants to watch it too, so now I have to stop watching and go upstairs and watch it on the TV with him 😂
The good news for you is two views … one on the telly and one on my phone so I can comment 😉
Thanks so much, we hope you enjoy it! 🍻
Great news all around!!
Why are green candles bad?
They were miners candles, they put copper oxide in them so all miners had green candles. If you were found to have had one at home, it meant you’d stolen it!! They were also poisonous!!
@@PostcardAndAPint aaah, I know he explained that but I couldn’t totally follow along what the point of the story was!

Wooow very nice 😍😍😍👍👍

Nice video guys! Love the music! Is it free to use via that link?
Thanks for watching. Our music all come from Epidemic. We pay £10 per month which I think is brilliant value considering how big their library is. X
This was awesome you guys, loved it. We can't wait to come visit one day! I am happy to see Wills finally made it to the pub!! What's wrong with a good Christmas shoppe? lol Cheers friends
Ah thank you so much for watching. It’s an awesome museum. I hope you can get over for a visit soon. 🍻
Guy Rowland, the Victorian 'Policeman', at Blists Hill.
Law & Order in town.
A Local Policeman Bobby who rides on a Bicycle.
He was brilliant. They all were to be fair. Thanks for watching 🍻
Thank you.
By 1909. Policemen were allowed to use Bicycles.
how much time would you dedicate to Blist Hill, and also how much time for Ironbridge if you did all the museums? Thanks for your help!
Cheers 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint thank you so much! Do you think the other half day would do at Ironbridge?
@@nadiabarrett5195 Ironbridge is really pretty. We didn't spend too long there. We saw the bridge and had a drink, walked are back streets and that was it, there didn't seem to be loads to do, but I know there are more museums. X
@@PostcardAndAPint much appreciated! And I love your fun approach in your videos :)
@@nadiabarrett5195 thank you x
Blists hill is rather good, the bread and chip sandwiches we made are very nice
Cheers Will, it was chips and bread very separate for us! I’ve heard about you guys chip butties here!!! 🍻
Fab video.
Very interesting and very nice :-)
Thank you so much 🍻
Loved the skipping!
Thanks so much for watching (people are now starting to send in ideas for where there are Christmas shops - there’s no stopping him!!) 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint We'll be back soon!!! Love people's support for Christmas shops!
I don’t understand the joke at the end. I need you to explain it to me!
He’s selling paracetamols
I’m a farmer see
I’m a pharmacy!!
@@PostcardAndAPint GROOOOOOOOOANNNNN! 🙄

We loved our day here and so learn a lot. That’s really fascinating about the policeman’s life - bad pay!
Thanks.
I was. Its not good being poor.
I heard it from a 90 minute documentary film called History of the British Police Force.
On UA-cam.
