On top when it bakes though. Not mixed in. The cheese was strange If you bake it in a loaf pan, it's easy to slice. That looks like it would make 2 meatloafs.
BBQ sauce in mix. Once I make 2 meatloaves, I turn them out, serve one & refrigerate one overnight. Next day I cut loaf into burger sized portions, fry on both sides- they make DELICIOUS burgers!
@@terryanding2735 I could also see making up your own frozen dinners. After I had a baby my mom brought me over a bunch of spaghetti meals. It was the best because my husband somehow managed to eat all the food I stocked up for myself during the couple of days I was in the hospital. So I was always starving
And the ketchup used to be the 'last' step of the process ... was put on top of the meatloaf for last 10 minutes of cooking time with my moms recipe ... would heat up just enough to crust it on the outside edges and tasted sooo good too!! Great recipe improvements with the cheese ... I wonder if the ketchup would work 'after' the cheese would bake up on top? Maybe a lighter layer of ketchup over the cheese?? Oooh - Oooh and some pre-cooked bacon pieces over the cheese too!!! Ketchup over the bacon ... oh that would be AWESOME!!! Hugs - Greg Leonard 💜💗💜
Back in the day, we put ketchup in before cooking because we didn't have many other things like the spices varieties back then. Now we wait on the ketchup after its almost done and add brown sugar to the ketchup and glaze it while adding 10 more minutes in the stove. Or as a topping when you plate it. The egg baby girl was EXACTLY RIGHT!! THAT'S your binder for holding it together for it to be a loaf. I'm old enough to be your mom 😂but you taught this gal a new flavorful way to make meatloaf today and I just LOVE YOU to pieces ❤️ That stuffing box cuts out having to add spices and breadcrumbs separately 👍 Woo-hoo!!! Less work 😊
I've used stove top stuffing as a binder in meatloaf for awhile now. It's real good. Add hot water to the stuffing and let sit for 15 minutes then add to meat mixture. I always made meatloaf my mommas way. Not anymore. Lol
Yes!!! I Always add some ketchup Kristen & also a bit of mustard.may sound weird but it gives it flavor! Also, I add an onion soup mix packet ( dry) & once I put it in my pain & smooth the top i spread ketchup on the top. Keep covered but the last 15 minutes pull the tinfoil off & you get a nice Ketchup crust. Everybody loves my Mom's meatloaf recipe! ❤
I think I will make this but instead of Ranch, use bbq sauce. I made the bbq sauce one on the box one time and it was really good. But it didn’t say to add cheese and I think that was a shame. As we all know, “cheddar makes everything better.” 😊
I make a mixture with ketchup, brown sugar and a small amount of mustard then mixy mixy and spread on top of the meat leaf before baking. It’s awesome.
😂 It's odd that anybody cares what you do in your own kitchen for your own self and your own family when you're simply showing us how-to recipes. Like the day when your cat jumped up onto the counter to check out what you were putting together, and many people took that as their liberty to scold you for your cat having a mind of its own. I guess they thought you were cooking dinner for them, personally! ❤😂😅
My mom always did ketchup or bbq sauce on top of her meatloaf and I think most traditional meatloaf recipes call for ketchup. I had a feeling with the stove top and ranch seasoning that this would not include ketchup. It sounds yummy, I don't think I've ever had cheese in my meatloaf. And it must have been a double recipe because I always cook my meatloaf in a bread pan for the shape. I'll have to try this sometime.
I just love watching you make things Kristen! You always make everything you create come out so good, and we get to enjoy your lively personality and commentary along the way! I also love how you don't mince words. I hate videos that take 25 minutes when it could be done in 10. Use your hands all you want Kristen...just makes it taste better. I say, " giving this a mixy mixy" all the time now and I love it! ❤️. I can make a pretty mean meatloaf myself, and that one looks delicious. The great thing about meatloaves is that they're all highly adaptable and many great updates. Besides onions, I put bell peppers and some fresh salsa in mine. I make a topping many different ways, but my mama mixed ketchup and a little brown sugar and her secret ingredient of a tsp. of grape jelly all mixed well. It was really delicious!
Ooooh. Now there's an idea @user-ws2pq8fg31. Especially for a small family that would have a full year of meals in the freezer from 1 Thanksgiving Turkey.
Love meatloaf. Awesome cold night dinner, with mashed potatoes! I pour a little Heinz mushroom gravy over the top and then heat the rest for the potatoes. I always add ketchup, mustard and a dash of Worcestershire sauce, too! And I also have been using seasoned bread crumbs, can't wait to try the stuffing!!!! 😋
Im going to definitely make this recipe. I haven't had meatloaf in years. 😊 It sounds delicious 😋 Thanks for sharing. Use your hands. Best kitchen tool ever. Love your kitties 😸 Have a Blessed and Beautiful week ahead ❤
Recipe from Stove Top from way back salmon patties (slightly modified) -1 can of salmon (remember to debone) -Use liquid from can of salmon to boil with some water (less difference of salmon liquid) and cook stuffing -Let cool and add salmon -add 1 egg to bind -make patties -fry till golden brown
Hey Kristin, I used to put ketchup in it too, as well as the egg, but then I put bread crumbs, onion powder, or onion salt, oregano. I haven't made it in over 10 years but it was pretty good back then as I recall, everybody really liked it .Anyways, have a great day y'all.
I was taught that the best way to mix with your hands is to sqeeze thru your fingers. That helps to mix thoroughly. Same when making mixture for meatballs. Diana in AZ
Looks amazing I love meatloaf my favorite food like the addition of the stuffing mix,I'm going to make. Thank you for sharing kristen have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. Always a joy hanging out with you. Stay sweet. 😋😋😋🙏❤🙏❤🙏
I make an Italian meatloaf where you mix your burger with onion and garlic salt and pepper then pat it out into a large thin rectangle then you put a good amount of cheddar mozzarella parmesan and mazzithra cheese on top roll it tight put it in your cassarole dish bake it. It is the best thing I've ever tasted😊
I really enjoy watching you cook and listening to your comments. You make cooking fun. I’m going to try your meatloaf with stuffing mix. I’ve always used oatmeal in my meatloaf. You make me happy watching you. 😅
First time watching her, I just fell in love with her, because she was so real and not fony ! I didn't see her as trying to be all professional but ordinary like me!!! You go young lady, can't wait to see your next video 👀 !!
Looks yummy! I bet the stuffing mix gives it good flavor. I'm going to try it. I always check mine with a meat thermometer after I take it out to make sure it's done.
You make your sauce that goes on top at the end with ketchup or BBQ sauce and your favorite blend of sessionings then put it back in the oven for a few minutes to get it nice and bubbling hot.
I heard in the context of grilling which may be at a higher temperature and cook differently but they recommended not to salt meat before cooking because it dries out.
I put ketchup...but yours looks good...I'm now hungry. Use those hands that our mommas and grammar used ...we are still here....kudos to a great cook for us ordinary folk
I have a question, my family personally likes onions, green bell pepper, and diced tomatoes in our meatloaf. Adding the stuffing mix sounds like it would add so much to the meatloaf...I love the seasonings of the stuffing mix, and the dried bread crumbs I guess, work like a binder. So would it still work adding the onions , peppers, and tomatoes , and then using the stuffing mix as well ?
My meatloaf is never the same. Veggies change but always some onion. Often I mix half pork/ half beef if I have everything. Top with a mix of tomato sauce and ketchup. I’ve used crushed saltines or ritz crackers or crumbled bread as a binder. Lately, I make into patties since I like it best the next day for sandwiches.
I get a kick out of your personality! 🙂This looks good 👍 and onions I love plus they are good for those that suffer from asthma! Slap the counter! 😆😅🤣😂
Yes add ketchup. But... one suggestion. Mix all your ingredients except the egg first. Then whip your egg up in a little bowl or cup first, and mix it in with your other stuff. This mixes your egg in more evenly. 😊
Happy for one without egg. Allergic. I do the kind that has soaked bread/stuffing with milk, broth or water. I'd love to see Carol Becker's recipe as it was sent. Glove Police get lost!!
As "juicy" as you thought your meatloaf mix was, it looked a little dry to me . . . that's why the edges looked burned. Try using MILK instead of water next time, and a little more liquid than Kristin showed. By the way, I HATE ketchup in meatloaf . . . it makes the meat too sweet. I open a small can of tomato paste and use "some" (Kristin's term of choice,) in with the meatloaf mix. Then after the meatloaf has baked enough to set up/firm, I mix the rest of the tomato paste with a bit of ketchup, a little bit of brown sugar, some vinegar, salt, pepper, maybe a few drops of hot sauce, and I paint the surface and sides of my loaf. I do that toward the end of the baking and let the coating cook uncovered. But watch it so it does not burn!
I have not used stuffing in my meatloaf I do always put a egg in my meatloaf. If u don’t want to use gloves u don’t have to. I put do put in katchup or tomato sauce.
Was that 3 pounds of meat? That looks like enough for two normal meatloafs. By that I mean a loaf pan that's 4" by 8". If you bake 2, it's easier to figure out how to slice. Might cook a bit faster, and you've got another meal to freeze (before or after cooking).
Always add some ketchup girl!! I'm from SW TN and we always Doll it up, gotta add ketchup, otherwise it's not a traditional southern Meatloaf.. Southern Comfort from SW TN!! No cheats with Stovetop, make a 3lb meatloaf from strach people!! Home made is the best you'll ever get.. No cheating!! 😋
Making food with you hands is the best way to do it then you know it's done right. I think you can put ketchup on top of the meatloaf. I think my mom used to put a bit of tomato soup in it.
Mixie mixie, I'm using my hands, do what makes you happy, get some cats!! 😍😸😸❤
❤❤that too❤😂
😂
Yup I got cats too...love your furbabies❤❤❤❤❤
Ketchup . Barbeque sauce and Dijon mustard. You will thank me later😊
On top when it bakes though. Not mixed in. The cheese was strange
If you bake it in a loaf pan, it's easy to slice. That looks like it would make 2 meatloafs.

Yaasssss you got it and a little bbq mixed in , the mustard and brown sugar on top sounds like the Cracker Barrel meatloaf
Wow!! Looks yummy!
Ketchup an wortishire sauce. Yum yum 😋
A DOUBLE HAND SLAP 👋🏻!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love meat loaf !! I like the recipe
Thank you Kristin and Carol !!
Kristin, you must use your hands to mix meatloaf. It is the American way. Enjoyed your video. Mixie mixie.
And the ketchup used to be the 'last' step of the process ... was put on top of the meatloaf for last 10 minutes of cooking time with my moms recipe ... would heat up just enough to crust it on the outside edges and tasted sooo good too!! I use just the stove top mix and one egg. I do add one egg though and cook one hr but I check it to make sure it don't burn.
I've used stove top stuffing as a binder in meatloaf for awhile now. It's real good. Add hot water to the stuffing and let sit for 15 minutes then add to meat mixture. I always made meatloaf my mommas way. Not anymore. Lol
Yes. Called a panade. Gives the nicest texture.
Love the stove top addition😋 Put a damp paper towel under your mat & it won't slip & slide 😊

Love you videos, such a good personality
You go girl, God gave us hands before gloves!!! We hope those beautiful kitty's are doing great!!! ❤❤😊😊🌷🌷
Never used stuffing mix or cheese, Ranch, I'm trying this one!!!
I love your kitchen hacks. You are so funny and refreshing. Thanks for sharing!😂❤
When are we going to see Bridget try your food. 😊

My favorite video so far! Laughed so hard when you slapped the meat and got juice on Bridgie!

Now that looks YUMMY😛
Might be fun to try with ground turkey also. Could serve with cranberry sauce, like a Thanksgiving meatloaf.🙂

It's time to use the hands!!!!! YAY!!!!!! Just slice it like a loaf of bread!!!!! Looks good....
Can't wait to try this.. love meatloaf
Your so funny your food looks so good yummy ❤

You just have to come up with that glove police song lol😊
Really delicious meatloaf 😋 thank you 😊❤
Betty did good 🐔
Yep...so did Kristen....people in here have so much misinformation .....hope she doesn't listen about eggs washing....
Recipe from Stove Top from way back salmon patties (slightly modified)
-1 can of salmon (remember to debone)

The more you mess with it, the tougher it gets😊
And if you want it to hold together for perfect slices, that's the key. I like it best put in my KitchenAid and beaten just a bit.
I'm excited to make this!
Now im a ketchup die hard meatloaf fan but that looks soo good!
I make an Italian meatloaf where you mix your burger with onion and garlic salt and pepper then pat it out into a large thin rectangle then you put a good amount of cheddar mozzarella parmesan and mazzithra cheese on top roll it tight put it in your cassarole dish bake it. I'm going to be making this I love meatloaf! Thank you Kristin and Carol 😊
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 My favourite person.
Me TOO 😊😊😊
Great idea for the stuffing vs breadcrumbs.
Yummy
That is basically like my recipe , I don't put cheese in it, I will have to try it with cheese.
I really enjoy watching you cook and listening to your comments. You make cooking fun. I’m going to try your meatloaf with stuffing mix. I’ve always used oatmeal in my meatloaf. You make me happy watching you. 😅

Yum!
Better with ketchup and brown sugar, or Sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce! But, Kristin, you and your friends are AMAZING!❤😂🎉😊😊😊
I put Ketchup and a little bit of Barbeque sauce into my meatloaf.
Clean hands are the most important kitchen tools.
Yummylious, Hello from Texas
Looks yummy! I bet the stuffing mix gives it good flavor. I'm going to try it. I always check mine with a meat thermometer after I take it out to make sure it's done.

I make mine the same except I don't add the water .
The Stove Top Stuffing is a must and the extra Seasoning it's so yummy.
It really is!
I love meatloaf and 🐈 cats
I heard in the context of grilling which may be at a higher temperature and cook differently but they recommended not to salt meat before cooking because it dries out.
Hi Kristin. Have you tried meatloaf with barbecue sauce? My personal favorites are any of the Sweet Baby Rays brand.
This girl cooks like my sister.
My sister who uses her oven for storing Tupperware, bit she’s still my sister……..😂
U are a hilarious❤❤❤😊😊😊
I put ketchup...but yours looks good...I'm now hungry. Use those hands that our mommas and grammar used ...we are still here....kudos to a great cook for us ordinary folk
Kristin where do you get your t shirts from? Are they from one place?
What temperature do you bake at?
I have a question, my family personally likes onions, green bell pepper, and diced tomatoes in our meatloaf. Adding the stuffing mix sounds like it would add so much to the meatloaf...I love the seasonings of the stuffing mix, and the dried bread crumbs I guess, work like a binder. So would it still work adding the onions , peppers, and tomatoes , and then using the stuffing mix as well ?
Yes it would. You can add any veggies you like.
I have always added diced onions, peppers, & celery & most times, grated carrot. But I saute them first to make sure they get cooked.
Ground beef, onion, egg, bread crumbs a little green pepper ketchup, or you can use cream of mushroom soup instead of ketchup. This is an old recipe.
I use milk rather than water. And I make this but I use ketchup also.
Can you use stove top chicken if that what I have
I make s similar meatloaf. Any flavor Stovetop works.
In my own home I don't were gloves ! And when you watch chef's they don't ether... Do what makes you happy lol 😅
um, i missed what the oven was set on. All I heard was for an hour, but for an hour at what temp?????
Happy for one without egg. Allergic. I do the kind that has soaked bread/stuffing with milk, broth or water. I'd love to see Carol Becker's recipe as it was sent.
Glove Police get lost!!
Iv never seen the ranch pavket before. I wonder how this would be ...hmmm 🤔

I make meatloaf using stuffing as well but differently and i only add 2-3 tbsp of ice water
I have not used stuffing in my meatloaf I do always put a egg in my meatloaf. If u don’t want to use gloves u don’t have to. I put do put in katchup or tomato sauce.
Water ?! No beef broth!!
She aint making her food for you glove police!!:She making it for her own fam and friends to eat.
My mom put tomato sauce on the top and some in the meat loaf
Think you are more inspired by Carol’s(?) recipe. But seems to look pretty good.
My momma put catsup on the top of her meatloaf.😊
I always mix my meatloaf with my hands.
Forget what I just sent you are following a different recipe
right?! lol
My mom just passed away 😢, I am laughing though because I have never made meatloaf and I wish I had her teach me.
aww i am so sorry for your loss!
what temp? dish size?
Was that 3 pounds of meat? That looks like enough for two normal meatloafs. By that I mean a loaf pan that's 4" by 8". If you bake 2, it's easier to figure out how to slice. Might cook a bit faster, and you've got another meal to freeze (before or after cooking).
How on earth could you mix meatloaf without getting your hands in there? 😂 I couldn't do it without getting my hands in there😊
If you've never made meatloaf you ain't living lol. You can still put some ketchup on it when you eat it.
I bet bacon would be really good in this version.
I put ketchup in my meatloaf and when I put it in the baking dish I put ketchup on the top.
Is there ever a recipe you don’t like?…After you make it????
yes i just do not show them lol
I always Use Gloves knowing I Do My Nails because I remember cooking with my Nails like that and before I knew it, Fungus was Growing Inside My Nails.
The ketchup goes on top
Half way through put ketchup on it 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Making food with you hands is the best way to do it then you know it's done right. I think you can put ketchup on top of the meatloaf. I think my mom used to put a bit of tomato soup in it.
Dear friend you always add ketchup. At least I do. ❤️❤️❤️
Put the ketchup on top of the meatloaf before you bake it in the oven.😊
If your hands are not clean enough to mix food -then you shouldn't B cookin
The glove police and the hand washing police need to shut up! We know you wash your hands . No need to show. Keep on doing what you do. Keep it real!
