Today, we are coming back to the idea of loose style painting. We don't really have an interesting subject, but the lighting is beautiful. We will paint a sunny street in France using my squirrel mop brushes.

Excellent loose style that comes togethe so beautifully with strong light areas contrasting with shadow.
I love the textures you achieve with your magic brush strokes! I was suprised how much you did on the first layer, you control the paint brilliantly even if it is a loose style.
I think I might have to sign up to one of your online classes to help me sort out my messy painting style!

I love your loose style. Did you wet the back of your paper for this demo?

If I plan to paint wet on wet, I wet both sides of the paper. I wet the back of the paper only if:
- the project takes more than 20 minutes
- I plan to use the dry brush technique a lot.

Great question Reinaldo! I never use pure black, as it is not transparent - which I think is paramount for watercolor. The more elaborate answer to your question is coming out on January 24, but tsss... don't tell anyone :)

Thank you for the question! For practice, you can use any pictures. However, if you want to present your work on the exhibition, you should be in the clear about the copyright with the author/owner of the reference image

Danke für deine Frage Hannes! Mit meinem Lieblingspapier (Saunders Waterford Rough 300 g/m² 100% Baumwolle) male ich fast immer auf der Rückseite :) Es ist doppelseitig und ich bevorzuge die Textur der Rückseite.
