@@xnopyt13 Tim at Military Arms Channel has long made a big stink about vendors on Gun Broker scalping rare pieces... only to turn around and pull the same shit with a handful of Dragonuvs that were originally promised to a group of buyers that initiated the import in the first place.
Mac from the Tim channel is the reason why these are $6,000. SVD were going to be $3,600 imports last year until Mac bought them all and resold them for $6,000. Now we are getting more at JACKED prices.
He still doesn't understand how much he fucked the system up on that. He only sought to line his own pockets.

James, there’s something you need to check out here at Shot Show. I work at the RAM booth and went to the Palmetto booth, and they have a had a replica version of the Zenitco PT1 stock. I spoke with some of the guys there and they said that they will be producing the stock. They also mentioned how they will be producing the SVD and also had a flash hider similar to the Delta Tech MPI (no baffle shroud though)
I remember PSA talking about bringing an SVD to market, but that was way back before they had even released the AK74. I figured it was all hypothetical since they also said they would be making an MP5 clone... and we all know how well that's been going.
@@KillerRedVine Supposedly FEG sold them the TDP on the SVD. Then PSA found out they couldn't make certain parts to spec in house. and went looking for contractors. they had to circle back to FEG and then the HD-18 debacle happened and FEG seemed to pull away from the american market until the announcement today.

@@theheatinferno8420 the spiker takes zero R&D to produce, and the StG-44 they're selling was designed by HMG ~5 years ago, not PSA. PSA cannot simply will a gun into existence. They have to find a group of people that actually know how to machine SVD parts that aren't already banned from importation (Russia, China).
@@124thDragoon PSAs who thing is producing everything in house. They could be getting tooling and figuring out how to make it. Or I could be talking out of my ass.
Really wish the price was about half of what they're asking, but the fact that Dragonovs are going to be actively imported is still big.

I was at a gun show in 1990 and there were two Russian Dragonovs for $800 each with all of the accessories. I thought I would save and buy one the following year. About three months later, Bush banned them. 🤬

Think of it this way. Pay say $6k when it's new coming into the country. The day it's stopped being imported, and they will. And I doubt they'll be imported for long. The value will at least triple.

MAC will buy all of them and prices will get stupid just like the Russian ones.
I had the Chinese NDM 86 years ago and it was covered in Russian proof marks but some were "sanitized". It was a decent shooter as long as you let the barrel stay cool.
10 -15 rounds and the groups would spread just like a PSL.
I would love to have the FEG version but 6k is way out of the question.
MAC literally sold them at almost the same price point. Sounds like you are mad at the fact you can not afford one, or choose not to.

Some one needs to bring in a few thousand from feg and sell them for around 2200 bucks! They need to have a reasonable price. I want one but 6k is wild and for what your getting.

I’ll be interested once I see a replica SVD made for 3k or under. I’ll stick with my PSL54 for the time being (I know the PSL is not an SVD).
The rep has some nerve using the word "attainable" after saying the price is $6k
Considering a full Sized Russian one is around $30K and the Norinco ones are in the $10-15K range. I would say $6K is attainable.

Most likely new production. FEG went through an additional investigation with the ATF when pissed off folks started spreading rumors that the previous batch of HD-18s were made from left over Soviet parts. ATF found no evidence of that fact and released the rifles from Trident to Copper Customs. FEG was talking about bringing other products to market before the HD-18 debacle.

@@crazysilly2914 Yes,it does have to do with the MAC/Copper Custom/Trident controversy. HD-18 was the FEG SVD rifle designation for that batch of rifles. I am assuming the designation hasn’t changed.
That Dragunov going to hit TFBtv with an age discrimination claim. James can't be admitting to disliking old guns. Got to find other reasons to fire them.

I'm good with my psl-54c,back when I bought it for 900 buck's, now they are around 1800 to 2500,those drags,they can keep them for that price.

Honestly reading the comments I have no idea why people are surprised by this price and are saying they can get better. It's an actual Dragunov these things go for over 10k at the minimum (not including the short TIGR ones) so 6k is to be expected and you're not paying the money for a well performing rifle to continuesly use you are buying it because it's a rare very sought after piece that many collectors have wanted and B&T and anyone who has wanted one would know that this price could be a lot worse. Better off to wait and hope it goes down before buying one though.
In the early 1988 I bought a Tiger carbine (civilian version) for$1,200.00… sold it in 1996 for $2,500 and was so happy at the profit I made!!! today 😢

If they were more in the $3k-$4k range I would consider buying one but $6k is too rich for my blood. Especially for what is frankly a novelty at this point.

It's why I picked up a PSL, it cost way more than it's actually worth but pretty sure it's saved me it's purchase cost with it being cheaper to shoot (for me anyway) than anything else.

@@Swishersweetcigarilo Valid. Romanian PSLs sell at $2k. I don't ever see the feg dragunovs dropping below $4k to $4.5k. I bought a russian dragunov (tiger version) in 2007 for $1500. It was cheaper than veprs at the time. So I wouldn't discount the FEGs skyrocketing at some point when they dry up. picked up a 249 new with 2 extra drums and 1200 links for $9500 cash out door a few weeks ago. Oh and $200 rounds of ammo already linked. It was a proud but high blood pressure day spending that on a gun. Better than wasting it on a new car that i need🤣

Technically the cr223/BT-15 is the first of the B&T import line.
They've already been sold to Copper Custom who will be listing them on GunBroker to let the market decide the value of these rifles.

@@firefly9838The B&T Dragunovs came in early Feb 2023 you're a year too late. Atlantic Firearms had a couple and some other retailers got one or two allocations. I don't believe any more are coming in.

This was coveted when you could buy spam cans of ammo for nothing. I'm sorry its not coveted anymore at today's ammo costs. Unless, you are that guy who is sitting on 50K rounds of this ammo it really doesn't mean to much otherwise.
1919 and Maxim machine gun owners were definitely converting to 7.62x54R once surplus 8mm wasn't cheap anymore, but I don't think being able to shoot cheap corrosive machine gun ammo was ever that big of a deal for sniper/designated marksman rifles, except maybe M91/30 snipers. Also, having a huge stockpile of blasting ammo shouldn't be the determining factor for what caliber to shoot. That ammo is worth what is sells for now, not what it originally cost.

New Fég people inherited all of the machinery and design packages. They have been working on getting back in the market for years. AKs, PKMs, Mosins and Mausers are all on the table depending on investors.
The people that seriously thought a new SVD import, from a legit combloc manufacturer, would be cheaper than even a Chinese import, you could never afford one in the first place. Ultra cope from people that can’t even afford their next utility bill.

@@MUCKLEECH They used to be a good company but recently changed management and hired an adult film actress (Bonnie Rotten) as one of their PR people, and she blocks people on the KUSA account on Instagram if they complain about issues with their rifles. Recent rifles have had bent receivers, loose and crushed rivets, and cracked trunnions. They’ve also shipped out the majority of recent their rifles and pistols with shotgun safety selectors, and their KP9s have had out-of-battery detention issues, which have led to catastrophic failures.

well good designing i know a downfall to some guns well sub machine guns like the thompson was the tail stock caused lifting which lowered the accuracy and forced the operator to drop his shot which is less accurate
