guessing you’ve looked at other comments but because of the added weight of the exterior pieces you may need a larger motor. it sounds like it’s really struggling when all 4 “feet” are on the ground. looking forward to next update!
I have a feeling that this set uses an adapted build from the 10178 Motorized AT-AT set to get it to walk, since it has very similar movements and struggles with the weight. I’m not sure if there’s neck movement or not as it’s hard to tell, but it’s definitely doing the job well. I think what may be causing a lack of bend in the joints are the length of the connector piece in the legs that allow for locomotion, which is probably for stability reasons as this would be severely top-heavy otherwise.
It looks nice but i have noticed a problem with walking sequence - it seems that the legs move in wrong order. It should be like that: right front, right back, left front, left back leg. Yours move right front and left back leg at the same time, then left front and right back together. I believe, that fixing this will make it walk looks way more naturally and it should be also more stable.
the motor is probably going to be damaged use an xl motor but if you are already using a xl motor try using two or use a buggy motor. you can also increase the torque
