Take a look at our follow-up video. Tough to really hear, but the sound is a bit louder with both baffles out, it's much better than the wimpy original sound but not as loud as the aftermarket Xchopper pipes. I'm happy because the chrome on the stock pipes is there to stay.

I drilled out the rear baffles and was a really nice improvement in the sound. I drilled out the front ones later on and to be honest, I did not notice any change

That net type thing is the catalytic converter, and if you drill through it or take it out, youll need to have the bike retuned

If you can switch the setting on your drill to a less resistant setting, you will save your wrist when your drill bit catches and your drill won't spin out on you.

Why does everyone say they are drilling both baffles in each pipe? There's only one baffle, it has two ends. 🤣

How does it sound with the cat gutted? I drilled the first baffles but left the cat and I like the sound but I'm curious.

I wonder if the net baffle is that catalytic converter

There are still guys using exhaust noise to get people to notice them? wow

I use extra LED lights on the front, rear, and sides of the bike, bright colored clothing, and loud exhausts, and people still don't see me. I don't get upset at them, because they aren't looking for a smaller, thin vehicle. I just try to increase the chance that something will grab their attention. I could blow the horn all day, but a loud rev when necessary usually does the trick.

I might be a little crazy but I feel like I lost a little power after doing this.. lost some back pressure but still a million times better than stock exhaust sound

    • @davidt9039

I hadn't noticed loss of power but have you tried one of the KN air filters? The KN increases power probably enough to make up for your lost power.

@@davidt9039 no I was going to get the G-Man setup that comes with the K&N Filter and then get the bully fuel controller.. but I'm currently debating on either that bully fuel controller or the Power Commander

@@davidt9039 I like the stock look of the exhaust but not the length so I'm probably going to cut 10 in off the stock exhaust or when I have money get a 4-in exhaust... either the freedom performances or Vance & Hines 4-in/cuts.. I like the look of them going up to the headers over the 3-in exhausts

Let me know how the chrome lasts on whichever pipes you install. The Xchopper pipes had that short length and great sound but cheap chrome.
