- After getting my lifted offroad 1997 Subaru Impreza "Battlewagon" stolen from my place, the police luckily found it abandoned and had it towed to a impound lot. If you don't know about this car, this was the first car that I rebuilt on UA-cam and it means a lot to me. It doesn't hold monetary value, but it has a lot of sentimental value to me. The thieves really made a mess of it though. Watch until the end to see if we can save this car!

You're lucky as hell to get it back in one piece. My car was stolen back in 2021, and the police found it totaled a week later.

My car was stolen last year as well and they never found it 💀
I had the same car stolen, a ‘99 Impreza Outback Sport here in CO. Found it a few days later all in one piece like yours at a motel parking lot nearby. They did mess up my ignition lock cylinder but that was it. Replaced that and sold it a few months later as I was paranoid of it happening again. Miss her still 5 years later
I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm kinda in the same boat now. The feeling of someone stealing your stuff sticks with you.
My brother had a BRZ in 2013 that got stolen, they found it totaled a week later. So happy you found it man!

Amazing! Glad you got your bb girl back my guy! I used to work with a gentleman who bought the new model Corvette C7. He told me they found it over 1 year after it was stolen. All that left was the firewall with the vin plate still attached.

Congrats on the lucky day. My slammed C10 had the wheels attempted to get stolen but the scissor jack couldn't go high enough so they stole the two spare tires and an some gas and left. I noticed the scissor jack a few days later when the truck was stuck in place 🤣
You are lucky. I had a 1997 Legacy Wagon and every lock was broken on it and the key could not be removed from the ignition. Easiest vehicle to steal and nobody took it some how.

I think they may have tried that. The tow truck driver mentioned there was like cardboard or something underneath the car. Subaru catalytic converters are pretty tough to steel since it's up next to the firewall. I'm shocked that it came out relatively unscathed.
Why would someone steal a Subaru? I mean if it was an expensive 100K dollar car they could sell the parts etc. But with an old JDM like this, what where they thinking?
